I really enjoy the Acer Chromebook I love the fact that it is lightweight. I also like the fact that it runs on Google IOS system. I also like that I use google version of Microsoft office which is good because I don't have to worry about downloading or buying any additional software.

This little computer is fast and easy to use. It's great for internet use! I would only use it for simple things though. LIke email, Facebook, etc. Videos load super fast! The graphics are pretty good. It's light and compact. It would make a great travel laptop. This is not a great computer for the elderly. Unfortunately we had to return it. We bought it for my Grandma and it was difficult for her to use it. The screen is small. Once we enlarged the text for her to be able to read it not much fit on the screen. She also had a hard time using the scrolling pad. We ended up buying her an iPad Mini and she loves it.

I bought the Acer chromebook in preparation for a backpacking holiday. Not wanting to risk the well-being or safety of my Lenovo Flex i5 I figured the chromebook was a good travel companion that could handle the email / browsing needs during travel without being heavy on the wallet or on the backpack. Today after having returned I believe it was the right decision and worth every penny. It's incredibly light and the size is great for a small backpack or bag, the make is rugged and while not the best aesthetically does a good job of keeping it from scratches (though there is a tendency for smudges and dirt to accumulate on the outer cover). The battery life is excellent and I have used it for 6-7 hours on a full charge. The USB ports work when the lid is hinged and that makes it great for charging phones. No problems with USB flash drives or connecting with my phone. The wifi works well enough. The OS is minimalist but has everything needed for general use, even a lite version of Word that can do basic doc editing. The startup and response times are the best of any laptop I have seen till date - it literally resumes from hibernation the moment the screen is opened. The keyboard is not Lenovo-quality but good, nonetheless. Best of all is the low weight that makes it ideal for whipping out easily, balancing on knees during long airport layovers and fitting back into overhead storage. Even the charging cable and adaptor are lightweight. The slight niggles are the need to press Alt for right click and a slight connection problem with my BT headset that manifests on occasion. Using a memory card on this model results in a slight protrusion from the chassis that's a bit annoying - I wish the onboard RAM was a bit more. There are a few software downsides with the limitations of Chrome but that's ok since its not meant to be a substitute to my regular notebook. Highly recommended.

All I can say is "WOW"!! I had no idea how much I would love this little computer. It's great for net surfing - turns on lightning quick. Super easy to set up - I didn't even have to ask my kids for help. :) It's so lightweight I can carry it with one hand easily. And the battery life is incredible! I truly could not be more pleased and am very thankful I got this at a great price!

At $129, it was an incredible deal. It's wonderful for most anything on the web and in a browser including Facebook, YouTube and other videos, and productivity with Google Drive (word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations). Offline capabilities include Drive, Gmail, and Calendar. Pros: Lightweight Long battery life Instant boot up Separate profiles for each user Can run Android apps Inexpensive Zippy 12 free airplane WiFi passes Great for traveling Video chat HDMI port Plays with Chromecast well Cons: No Flash support, but most things now aren't Flash or have an HTML5 version.

It's what a laptop should be. It is very light. The battery charge lasts for two - three days, depending on usage. Very easy to use. It is an excellent system for someone who's on a budget and needs something to do office work on. Great buy and I am considering getting another chrome book.

Purchased for my daughter for school. Excellent interface, easy to use, fast, images good enough for video and on-line movies. She learned to type on it and is now very proficient surfing the internet. Well-designed keyboard size, screen size, image quality and weight all plusses.

This little computer gives my Intel i7 a run for its money in terms of speed. Web browsing is lightning quick and thanks to the better wifi connection, it streams videos and movies very fast. The keyboard feels great and it was easy to adapt to. Battery life is stellar, easily giving me 9+ hours per charge and I still can't get over how quickly it boots and shuts down. It literally takes about five seconds. Very impressive. The only con is that the speakers are on the bottom, which can muffle the sound a bit, but it has a great volume range that makes up for it. If you're looking for a Chromebook, look no further. This laptop is the cheapest option, but it gives you everything you could possibly need and more. I love it!

    Great laptop for general use

My husband purchased this laptop for general work and leisure use, and it is perfect for that! He loves it. Pros: - Very very light - Fast - Ideal for general use: internet, writing, etc - Hard drive stays cool and doesn't burn your lap even after hours of use or streaming video Cons: - Small screen - Sub-par speakers/sound quality - Small storage capacity So it has a couple of cons, but like I said, my husband uses this most for browsing the internet and doing work on it, but he doesn't require a high resolution or maximum storage because we are huge fans of cloud storage. So the "cons" for this laptop don't even apply because we purchased it for a specific use, and it is perfect for it. We don't need a great screen or speakers, we have other equipment for watching movies, so if you're looking for a light laptop for traveling, doing work on your commute, or just doing work in the office or at home, this is perfect. I would also HIGHLY recommend this for college students. It's very light and very quick and easy to use.

I didn't buy this for gaming or anything that requires a lot of speed, I only bought it for storing recipes and use for my job. I thought it better value than buying a mac book. I am glad I did, because this laptop exceeded my expectations. Very user friendly, compact and light so it is easy to travel with. Speed is still pretty good. Great for a first laptop for a student. Great value for the price

I received my Acer CB3-111 April 7, 2015, so I've had it over a month now & have a good idea of its good & bad points. Mostly, its good, I just have to keep the open browser windows to a minimum, say 12 or less. Other than that, its a pretty good OTW [other than Windows] laptop. Mostly I use it for simple stuff; checking email, web searches, & casting to my Chromecast. I added a 32GB microSD card [using an adapter] but its no help AFA "adding memory" goes. Apparently, Chromebooks use their SD cards *only* as a downloads/local files repository, not as extra *operating memory*. But other than that, its a pretty good cheap [$129+tax, @bestbuy.com] portable laptop, that I use at home, meetings, & anywhere I can access Wi-Fi. Within its limitations, I'd recommend to a 'friend'.

I love this!! It does exactly what I needed it to do. It turns on super fast and I can be online in seconds. Way faster than any other laptop I've ever owned. I want to get another for my parents and rave about it to my friends. It is so simple and easy to use. It doesn't have all the nonsense programs most people don't even use. It is super light, efficient and has a very long battery and takes a very short time to completely recharge. Excellent product and I am extremely happy with this purchase. It is faster to log on and get to the internet than my iphone or tablet. I find myself using this all the time.

This chrome book is perfect for students who would use them for school. Very lightweight. Light enough to hold with 1 hand. The only bad part is that since it only has a chrome os for its operating system, you can't download that many games from online like minecraft. Most of the other games that you would want to download from the internet would require Windows operating systems to play and or download games. The good thing is that it already has downloaded the google version of the Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel Spreadsheet. These are a little complicated to understand at first, but at least it's still free. The laptop has 2 usb ports- 1 for 3.0 and 2.0. But doesn't work that well for trying to sync or download pictures from my apple devices. The camera is ok, but is a little bit fuzzy and only takes pictures but not videos. The storage space is good and there is a SD card slot for additional storage space as well. it already has google for the virus protection so you don't have to get one for yourself. But if you would like to get minecraft for a chrombook, you would have to void the warrantee and the google agreement or whatever its called to download something that can actually play minecraft. so its however you decide. The mouse is ok after you get used to it after a while. but I would recommend getting a wireless mouse to make things easier to do. So, anyway, its a good purchase for light computer use and basially made for writing documents and storing them on the laptop. So overall, a good purchase for a first time computer that's cheap, light, and is all wireless.

So... my fiance bashed me for getting an acer 720 chromebook when I got one last year. He totally talked bad about it even though he had never even played on a demo let alone used one. It was only a matter of time before he wanted to use my chromebook over his windows gaming computer when we needed to use the computer fast... as in no load time. When he enrolled in college, his professors (he's a computer science major) suggested that the class use Google Docs for writing papers; he used it on his computer but finally admitted that he needed a computer that he could take around which wasn't so heavy, fast, and reliable for classes.... He admitted that he needed a Chromebook. I surprised him with the acer cb3 11.6" laptop when it went on sale at an awesome price on Easter weekend before they sold out. :) He was surprised, happy, and cautious about getting a new chromebook. Long story short, 10 days later and he can't get enough of his chromebook. I'm talking, falling to sleep with it in bed, streaming video from the net, taking it to the restroom (don't ask) and more. He loves his chromebook... a lot! His chromebook is ligther in weight than my c270. My chromebook is a loaner device for work but I'm going to buy the new acer 15 tomorrow when I get paid! These chromebooks are good for a lot even when offline!

Support light weight. Good quality build. Screen is OK, not great. Speed is sufficient for Netflix, YouTube, email, news, Google programs. Battery is very good. 8-9 hours with continual use. Lighter use sometimes don't have to charge for 3 days. I also have the Acer 13.3 inch Chromebook that my wife uses and it's almost exactly the same just a little bigger, little heavier, slightly faster, but the battery life even more impressive 12-13 hours. You can't go wrong with either model.

I was skeptical, having been tied to an iPAD for a couple of years and totally disgusted with the netbooks I had prior to that. But, I must say, I am most amazingly and pleasantly surprised at the speed and ease of use I have with this device. It is perfect for checking emails or surfing - super duper fast surfing - and there are programs to substitute for the lack of Windows Apps. My grandson even does a little gaming on it, though it's not for the "pro" gamer according to other reviews I've read. The battery life is awesome - I charge it weekly. And it's as lightweight as my iPAD. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this device...it's the best $129 I ever spent!!!

Lightweight and durable. Feels solid when using. Very fast start up, great battery life. . Does not bog down when opening many webpages at one time. Great tool for web computing. Very portable, light and compact but not too small. Kids use these at school and are very familiar and comfortable using. I am use to Windows Laptop, took some getting used to but very simple to use. Set up is as simple as turn on and sign in using gmail account. Very different from standard laptop.
