Great Ultrawide Value—Excellent Refurb, Minor VA T
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up this refurbished Acer ED340CU and was pleasantly surprised by the condition—it arrived looking essentially new with no dead pixels or cosmetic issues. Setup was quick, and it worked perfectly out of the box. The 3440×1440 resolution at 180Hz is the highlight here. Motion is very smooth for gaming, and the ultrawide format is fantastic for immersion and multitasking. Colors are vibrant once adjusted, contrast is strong, and blacks look good thanks to the VA panel. That said, it’s still a VA panel, so there is some minor black smearing in very dark scenes and viewing angles aren’t IPS-level. The stand is sturdy but fairly basic, and HDR support is minimal—fine for SDR gaming, but don’t expect true HDR performance. For the refurbished price, though, this is an excellent value. If you want a fast ultrawide monitor for gaming or productivity and can live with typical VA limitations, this is an easy recommendation.

Good display with terrible design

The monitor was so unstable on the included stand I had to buy an arm and attach it to my desk. The base was super light weight and so warped that the monitor would barely sit on my desk. Be forewarned your going to need to replace it.

Great Monitor

The monitors we have in our building are very expensive when I search them. So I just looked for the same size, specs, and good reviews. This monitor has exceeded my expectations and it was a plus for me that it came with DisplayPort as one of the built-in options for connecting as the doc I have at home only has DisplayPort and I was previously having to use a connector. Not a huge issue but having one less thing to keep track of is great. Definitely recommend.
