I’ve been using the Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 for a few weeks now, and overall I’m pretty happy with it. It works great for both gaming and everyday tasks, and the performance is definitely strong. Most games run smoothly even on high settings. The OLED screen looks amazing, with really nice colors, and the 240Hz refresh rate makes everything feel very smooth. The laptop feels solid, and the keyboard is comfortable even during longer sessions. There’s plenty of storage, so I didn’t have to worry about installing games or apps. On the downside, it does get warm when gaming for a long time, and the fans can get loud. The battery life isn’t great either, so I usually keep it plugged in. That said, if you’re looking for a powerful gaming laptop to use mostly at home as a desktop replacement, this is a solid choice and worth considering.

In a vacuum, this is a great computer, but your mileage may vary. I’ve been impressed with the performance of the 5070 TI for 2K gaming, which is all I’m interested in. I will say that the OLED is absolutely gorgeous, and now I’m shopping for OLED monitors to replace my IPS because it just looks that good. As for the fans- if you turn on Turbo mode when plugged in the fans sound like a fighter jet at takeoff. Otherwise the fans aren’t crazy loud and I haven’t had the keyboard get super hot to the touch. Again, this is based on 2K gaming at high settings so YMMV. Battery life is … limited. But I use this as a desktop replacement so it’s mostly irrelevant to me. I got this on the Presidents’ Day sale for $2,200. At that price this computer is pretty compelling value and I’m extremely happy with it. At the present price here ($2,700) I have to imagine there are better buys out there, but if money is no object I could still give it a recommendation.
