I use a few different Digital Audio Workstation applications and I was looking for something to use that was affordable for creating music using Windows since I have run into a few issues in recent years with Apple as well as with Pro Tools. I use Akai MPC beats on Windows currently and thought about trying MixCraft 10.5 Recording Studio after reading some of the reviews about it online. So far, it has lived up to my expectations. The learning curve is minimal and it integrated well with some of my older audio devices as well as some of the newer ones. I have an M-Audio KeyStation 61 MK3 (connected via USB) and a legacy M-Audio FireWire 410 audio interface (connected via firewire card) and both were available in the software without additional configuration. I ran my audio outputs into an older Tascam control surface (used stand alone) and it all just works. I am using Windows applications more these days because of issues Apple has neglected that have caused me to lose faith in their ability to create the M Series processors without an unpatchable flaws. I have intel based MAC systems as well but Apple no longer supports them. If you are look for an affordable alternative to GarageBand or Logic Pro then this might be what you are looking for. If you want to avoid having to constantly replace audio equipment because no drivers are being written to allow you use them in a newer version of the operating system then this may be your answer. If you do not want an annual or monthly subscription cost for the software then this definitely a good place to start. I hope this helps someone that is trying to make a decision about purchasing this software.
