Initially I was looking at either the Samsung 980 Pro or the Western Digital SN850 as my expansion storage for ps5, but then I stumbled across this drive. I’ve used ADATA SSDs in the past with mixed results, but after seeing the specs and the fact it came with a heat sink that fit within Sony’s dimensions, for the price ($145 at the time of purchase) I had to give it a chance. Well long story short is that this is the best value ps5 expansion option. Period. Unlike many drives out there, including some of ADATA’s own drives, you get access to the full 1TB drive space. Compare this to Ps5’s internal 825GB drive that only affords you 667GB of usable storage (even less after reserved space for essential system files). Or the 2TB SX8200 Pro I’m using in my own pc at the moment which is in reality only 1.82TB. This means more storage for your money. After a very quick 2 minute installation, I booted my ps5 up and formatted the SSD. Rated speed was about 6200MB/s which isn’t maxing out PCIe gen 4, but exceeds the 5500MB/s Sony requirement. No issues with temperatures thanks to the included heat sink, which makes this thing an even better value than it’s competition. I was worried 1TB wouldn’t be enough for my needs but thanks to Sony’s proprietary file compression, I was able to install my entire PS Plus library with half the drive to spare still. 2TB would’ve been absolutely overkill for my needs. All in all, if you find this drive for $150 or less you should definitely pick it up.

Installation was easy and fast. The PS5 recognized and formatted the drive with no issues. Total available space is just over 1tb. Specs state speeds up to 7400 but the PS5 shows a top speed of 5750. There have been no issues with using the drive and it's been great for adding all of our backwards compatible games to the library. For the price, it seems like a great drive, but don't expect to see the rated speeds in your PS5.

I was thinking about getting either the Western Digital or Samsung SSD for my PS5. I’m glad I waited and discovered the XPG Gammix S70. It’s cheaper (even with the included heat sink) and speeds are even better than the Samsung model. Installation was super easy. Nice to finally have some additional storage for my PS5.

Phenomenal for the price point. Does the job just right for the ps5. Speedy and extra space both neccessary for the ps5. Will definitely not regret buying again in the future if need be. Also make sure you carefully read the instructions for this, I almost messed up the heatsink by not lining it up properly. So look up youtube vids and read the instructions.

Bought for Playstation 5. Great item for the price. Works flawlessly and easy to install. Was a little confused at first on how to install the heat plate but there is a lot of online guides on how to use apply the plate and install it on the Playstation 5. I have accessed to the whole Terabyte too so awesome item.

This replaced my Firecuda 530 in my PS5 because I moved it to my gaming laptop. My Read speed was higher than my Firecuda 530 and had more available space. Firecuda 530 2 Tb with 1.81 available for use while the S70 Blade 1 Tb with 1.02 available. Awesome price and performance!

I received this M.2 SSD today and installed it into my PS5. The installation process was very simple, it only took about 10 minutes. Great SSD, took my PS5 from only 800 gigs to 1800 gigabytes! The games I have loaded on run even better than before as well, would highly recommend.

I bought this drive since my PS5's internal drive was constantly full and I would have to juggle what games I had installed. It meets the recommended specs and comes with a heat sink, so I decided to give it a shot. Installing this drive wasn't too difficult, I've opened up laptops to add storage and this was much simpler. It's one screw to get to the dedicated slot under the PS5 after you take the white cover off. After setting my PS5 back up and turning it on, it recognized the drive and everything was good to go. I've installed plenty of games on this drive, and they perform the same and load as fast as the internal drive. Definitely recommend!

got this for my SO as a christmas gift and he was very happy with it! he immediately set it up right away and from what i saw, it looked like an easy installation. we got the 1tb and it holds up a lot of storage, can probably fit 20+ games on it. i got this around black friday so there was a sale and got the best price with this compared to other brands

I bought this as additional storage for my PS5. Install was quick and easy. 100% operational. Per my PS5, I'm getting a little over 6300 MB/s.

Great SSD at a great price compared to the others. Getting a great speed also. It feels good knowing my PS5 has more space.

So far so good, installed easy as 1-2-3, formatted it, pushed all my games to it and began enjoying much more room on my PS5. My one hitch is the "heatsink" it's like a thermal pad, small, thin, but I'm not having any overheating issues. 5 out of 5 would recommend to anyone looking to increase their HDD space cheaply.

Easy install. Super easy. Great way to add storage for your PS5. Only complaint is that Sony only offers a 1TB drive. That is horrible for a system costing so much money. 2TB should have been he minimum with a 5TB option. Buy this! A no-brainer!

A great way to expand your PS5 storage on a budget price, the only negative side is that you need to install the heatsink but is really easyz just scan the QR code.

It works really well on PS5. You might want to invest in a separate heat sink as continuous writing to it will heat it up and when it’s hot the writing speed is throttled. As an example, I got a 2TB at $109. Great price! I installed with the heat sink that came with it. The first 200GB of games transferred at 3-4GB/s, took like 1-2 minutes. After that it was slowed down to 200-500MB/s or so for a few minutes. The following 150GB finished in 9.4 minutes. Still really fast and no complaints. Great value. Def the best I could find

This product is amazing lots of storage for my ps5. And it was very simple to install i already downloaded 20 games & hasn’t touched the peak of the storage yet I would buy over & over again good stuff
