This is a new design to follow the Area51m notebook. They just had a redesign m15 7-9 months ago. I assume this was so the design follows through all devices.
The OLED screen is beautiful. I like the look of the new design. If you are strictly gaming look at the 144hz or 240hz pane. Preferebly the 240hz panel because it is much brighter and more contrast than the 144.
The Cryonot 3 cooling is marketing jargon. The cooling really isnt much better than the original m15/m17. Triple A titles with heavy cpu and gpu load will still make it throttlw. It seems to happen at the wrong time in the middle of a battle and it throttles down and im dead. Disable overlcoking in the crappy AWCC software that needs redsigning badly and use throttlestop or XTU and undervolt the cpu by -130 and it helps the cpu from getting to 100 and throttling.
My next issue is SOLDERED on RAM and wifi card. So its basically a gaming MAC now. Get the 16gb model as it dual channel. The 8gb model is single channel and hinder performance like crazy. But your limited to 16gb forever because you cant upgrade. So heavy video ediitng or photoshop is going to be an issue. If your wifi dies you'll have to get a usb adapter.
You will need some technical ability to undervolt this with software to keep it cool under pressure. Repaste will be a nightmare as they have now inverted the MB and put the Heatsink between the motherboard and keyboard. So total disassembly will be needed to repaste the machine to help temps.
Recommend the first m15 as it has 2 m.2, 2.5 bay, upgradeable ram and wifi.
