This unit is such a powerful little transmitter/reciever. I plan on using it when we are camping. Our popup camper has a radio in it, but the speakers are directed to the side of it, like most. That is great if you are right next to it, but usually we are not and to have it loud enough to hear it, it would be too loud for our neighbor campers. Until this little unit showed up. I will mostly be using it as a transmitter, it will be connected to our camper's line out and will transmit to two different Bluetooth speakers simultaneously. It is an amazing solution for our situation. I also tested it as a receiver and worked very well, the range of it is incredible.

    Half baked /// works sometimes

I was looking forward to this device due to the good reviews here so I bought one at the local Best Buy. I have 3 brand new devices I tried this on: Insignia 55" Amazon Fire TV, Bose Quiet Comfort II headset, & Sony XM3 headset. I could only get the Sony to pair briefly and the audio stopped.... then I couldn't get it to pair again. With the Bose the pairing was easy and I watched some content on Amazon streaming. It sounded good and there was no sound delay/lag. Then I switched the tv to Netflix and no more sound...I went back to amazon streaming and no sound....I cycled the power on the tv and then got menu sounds back on Netflix but no audio from the content...went back to amazon, same menu sounds no sound from content....switched to Hulu and got menu sounds and sound from the content BUT now there is a one second delay / lag...ughhh, too much hassle to make it work. It was already bad enough that this half-baked device has a multi function button and a multi function light that is supposed to tell you what is going on....but with the sound problems, pairing difficulties and lack of thoughtful and quality design I am returning it for a refund. I don't want to have to monkey around with connecting / pairing / power cycling every time I switch content................. I DO NOT recommend this product.

When technology passes Us by and we don't have the money to keep up it's nice to have alternatives to help keep up. This is one of them it works with Bluetooth and non Bluetooth items this transmitter makes everything awesome I'm playing with it now but I can't wait for football season and maybe get one or two more of these and have it planned throughout the whole house. If you got a lot of old speakers and you don't have Sonos money this is the way to have a whole Home Solution.

Turns audio equipment into Bluetooth devices

This is a simple, compact unit for connecting your non-Bluetooth enabled receiver, TV, or similar device to the world of Bluetooth. Want to listen to your TV without disturbing anyone else in the house? Simply put the Aluratek into transmit mode and put in your Bluetooth headset. Want to transmit from your mobile device to your older receiver? Place the device in receive mode and away you go (this is the way I've used the device). Setup is a breeze, as the Aluratek comes complete with all cables you might reasonably need. Selecting receive versus transmit is as simple a a slider switch. Pairing is a breeze. The sound is clear and the range is excellent, giving you the ability to move freely around multiple rooms while still listening to / playing audio. It's dual-channel, so it can transmit to multiple headsets, allowing two people to enjoy the same audio source in private. Overall, this is a great unit for bringing all of your home audio devices into the current age.

Excellent device to make an older product Bluetooth compatible. Hooked this up to an older TV and now stream to Bluetooth headphones Simple, easy with very good sound quality. I can now listen to any volume level I want and not hear someone tell me to turn it down!

One of the best things we've ever bought

I read earlier reviews on this product, and they made it sound like this had issues or was difficult to set up. Nothing could be further from the truth. I set this up while my wife reheated leftovers for supper. Total setup time was less than 15 minutes, and it was up and running. This is one of the best things we've ever bought. My hearing is not good, so I like the volume loud, and my wife likes it quieter. Now we have two headsets, and we each control our own volume levels. And now, also, the sound comes through crystal clear. Movies are much more enjoyable now. It's a shame that such a great product likely suffers from reviews that make it sound complicated or troublesome. Nothing could be further from the truth. IF you can't set this up and be watching TV in less than 30 minutes - then you probably can't tie your own shoes either. I do know more about tech than most people, but I'm not an expert. I plugged in the optic cable (two ends), then the power cord (one end, and then into outlet), then set one switch (to transmit), turned it on and synced it to two headphones. That's it! TV is ten times better now for me as I can hear every word AND the whispers as well! Life is GOOD - get THIS and life will be a lot better!

If you want to watch TV, but your spouse/partner wants to read (or vice versa), so that both of you are happy, this is the device for you! The ABC-53F has a very small footprint next to/under/behind the TV, and there are 3 ways to connect it to the TV. After you determine which method you want to use, simply follow the graphic to make the TV connection. Then, follow the simple Bluetooth pairing steps; and you are good to go. It can all be done in minutes! Gotta love it!

    Hit and Miss with Pairing

I own an Esinkin bluetooth receiver that works well and pairing is easy. After reading the reviews, I decided to purchase the AluraTek transmitter /receiver to connect bluetooth devices to my home stereo and play music in the back yard. Although, the Aluratek is finally working (not easily), I am rating it 3 stars mainly for the frustration in trying to pair my devices. For me, I have never had such a difficult time pairing devices when only inches away. Sometimes it takes 3 or more attempts to connect. I have the Aluratek plugged in and on. None of my devices connect automatically which the instructions seem to say they will. It took me 3 days to connect my portable bluetooth speakers (HDMX Jambox only paired twice and will not pair now), Jam and Jaybird headphones and bluetooth turntable. I had to call Tech support 3 times in 3 days and only one was slightly healpful and they all sounded like they were being bothered by the call. One thing I did learn from the one of the Tech Support, was you need to separated connections; one for transmitting and one for receiving. Since I no longer use a VCR I connected the VCR Output to the Left and Right connectors of the Aluratek and the VCR Input to the Aux jack of the Transmitter/receiver. On a positive note, when I am able to pair devices, it does work well and the working distance away form speakers, headphones is great. My garage is about 30 feet from the Aluratek and no sound cutting out even with the door to the garage closed. At about 60 feet away and in direct line the connection is solid. If the pairing were much easier, this review would have been give 5 stars. I can't say I would recommend this to a friend as they may encounter the same issues and no longer be a friend.

Bluetooth will not connect to newer phones

When everything connected, it worked great. Unfortunately it was a pain to connect. If I would switch transmit/receive modes it would not re-connect to my device. I would need to “forget this device” and re-connect. The worst part though was when I called customer service at Aluratek. They were very dismissive and simply said it was a problem with my phone (iPhone X). They also said they “see that a lot with newer phones”, explaining new phone’s Bluetooth technology has gone down in quality. They had no solution and made me feel like it was my fault their device would not connect to an iPhone. I did my research and ended up getting a Miccus Home RTX 2.0. It was cheaper, has better range, and connects flawlessly every time. I highly recommend the Miccus.

Setup was easy to both stereo and computer, as was pairing to wireless speakers. Don't know how are far it will transmit, but sounds great at 100 plus feet.

This was recommended by the sales rep over the item I originally went in for. The set up is simple and works like a charm. I purchased a longer and sturdier cord for our purpose.

This is my 2nd device from this company. Upgraded when I got a smart TV. The best company and tech support ever. I had my older version for years and traveled with it. Gave it away when I got the new TV which needed an optical connection device. They walked me thru the set up again. Great Great techs and great great product......DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME ANY ANY OTHER...

Bluetooth connection was hit and miss. No pass through video or audio. Returned this and bought the MEE hub. What a world of difference. Flawless performance. Full pass through. Audio status update as to what is happening when connecting Bluetooth. Do not buy the Aluratek. Get the MEE one instead. You will be much happier in the long run when the sting of the higher price for the MEE wears off.
