Short & Sweet - For what it is, this device is amazing. Performance is quick, audio is great, and the built-in Zigbee hub works quite well. Longer Review; After dragging my heels for over a year, I finally bought our first Echo (2nd Generation) back in August. I loved it so much that I got us 2 more for other areas in the house. Being able to group them and play the same music or audio throughout the house is a novelty that won't grow old for me. I've only wished that they had a little more full sound, especially at higher volume. I'd considered the last Echo Plus, but the average of reviews I read didn't make it appear to perform significantly better than our already great 2nd Generation Echos. When I saw this new Echo Plus listed, I pre-ordered it to "replace" the Heather Grey Echo in our kitchen and move that one to our bedroom. We tend to have music playing in the kitchen more than any other room, and I wanted slightly better sound than the regular Echo in there. I'm honestly glad we took a chance on this device without any reviews to go by. Appearance; As you can see in the photos, it's pretty much identical in height to the 2nd Generation Echo. It is a bit wider to accommodate the larger speakers, and the top is slightly domed instead of being flat. A similar 7-microphone array is on top and they seem to work just as well. There also appears to be a tripod-style connector on the base of the unit. Setup; Setup was surprisingly easy as this Echo Plus detected our network settings on its own. I plugged it in, it did its initial startup, and then told me the device was connected. Simple as that. Audio compared to 2nd Generation Echo; Highs are clearer. Mids are more natural and better-defined. Lows are deeper. Overall volume is noticeably louder and sound quality is improved. When paired with our other Echos, music and audio is in sync everywhere and this device stands out above the others in audio performance. General Performance; We have a quick network and I don't notice any perceivable performance difference between this new Echo Plus and our regular 2nd Generation Echos. Everything seems to work as it should. I bought this with the "free" Philips Hue bulb promotion. This bulb is our first Zigbee device and works very well with the Echo Plus. It is easily controlled by either the Echo Plus or the other Echos we have in the house. I'll be keeping an eye out for deals on these bulbs in the future. Like our other Echos, it also has no problem controlling our Kasa Smart Plugs.

I purchased the Echo Plus 2 being the Apple HomePod wasn't in the budget at the time. All I can say is, WHAT A HOOT!!! I love this thing! It's "smart" knowledge is extremely fun, and the music selection it gives me is pretty on point. Operation is easy, setting up is easy, and getting the free light bulb made everything even more cool! I've since been able to purchase a HomePod, and soundwise, it has no peer. However......Siri compared to Alexa? Sadly, I'll be returning the HomePod. The first Apple product I've ever returned. So, for $150 bucks, plus a free light bulb, you can't go wrong. Oh...and it sounds good as well!

I needed to fill a sound gap in one of my larger rooms. I had an Echo Show 8 in place already, and that was doing an admirable job. I just need a fuller sound so bought the Echo Plus to fill that hole. It does a marvelous job broadcasting sound into the void. When coupled with the Echo Show 8, the two fill the entire room with the streaming music I requested with my voice via either device. Nice choice. It also has an additional Hub should I want to expand my system further. It sets up easily using the Alexa app.

I still cannot believe how amazing the sound is on the Echo Plus 2nd Gen. I upgraded from the original Dot and the sound is just breathtaking. I love the quick and easy setup and the ability to link other Alexa devices so you can literally have whole-home music playing, use as an intercom system, etc. Alexa seems to be able to handle more complex skills and she is always learning! Very happy with this device and would highly recommend.

How can you not love a device so smart and easy to use? I speak. It listens. It acts. I have exactly what I need without four separate remotes and it was super easy to set up, so much that I got an Amazon Fire tv stick, too!

My husband and I talked a long time about getting Alexa. Im so glad we did. The newer speaker set up sounds great, she was easy to set up and easy to use. We plan on adding the other abilities in the next few months

The basic set up was easy. The fact the fact that it came with a hue bulb was great, and setting that up was easy too. FIguring out how to enable some links to other apps and turning on some skills took some time. Again, not difficult, but you have to read the instructions. The speaker quality is really good as well. Music sounds great.

Purchased for my wife who is not usually good with technology. She loves it ability to play music and answer question ranging from what is the weather to question. It was a breeze to set up

Much easier to set up and better sound than I expected. I love the connected light, no more reaching back into a corner for the lamp switch. Alexa does it for me.

These speakers sound great and along side Alexa what else could you ask for...great set up to all your electronic devices.

Much better sound than the echo. Easy to setup. Just wish worked with airplay. Does now work with apple music.

The Echo was very easy to set up and sync with Amazon account and easy to use

Bought this for my parents. Setup was easy enough for my mom to figure out. Download the app and go. We love the trivia games and her fav is the “Alexa add xxxx to my grocery list” that you’ll find in the app once created.

man the speaker is a big upgrade, great music. Way easy to set up

This Alexa does what it is supposed to do. Sim;ple set up for the most basic of commands. Will pair with Harmony Companion entertainment system remote with a somewhat complicated and difficult programming.

Love it. Synchronizes easily with other items via Bluetooth including my phone and tv. I got an echo sub as well and they are AMAZING together. Very little set up.

Good hub connection. No issues with set up. Sounds great as a stereo pair.

Use along with a few echo dots in the house and they were easy to set up and work well.
