I already have an Echo Dot. I purchase this to see what was new to the second generation model. Interchangeable skins but with limited colors. It’s bigger and louder and more sleek than its previous version. If you can afford it and this is your first smart speaker I say go for it. But if you have the older version or smaller version like a third-generation Echo Dot then stick with that

I was excited about getting my echo plus. However, I am disappointed the lack of understanding of my commands. Very frustrating. Alexa does not do well hearing commands when the music or tv is mid level volume or higher. I keep the console far away and still have a hard time hearing my commands. The app is not user friendly. It really takes some getting used to. But overall it’s ok. I like the convenience of turning music and lights on from a distance. Easy to set alarms. There’s some good and some bad. It’s cool though.

I give the Echo Plus 2nd Gen three stars.., not because it’s bad but because it could be better. With the addition of voice control like what’s in the TV Cube. The built hub works great. Connecting all of your WiFi enable devices such as Lights and Thermostats. However it would be nice to have voice control for your TV, Nextflix, Music Streaming Services, Amazon Video and gaming consoles, such as your Xbox. All of which can be done with the Amazon TV Cube.

For the most part my daughter uses it more than I do. I guess it doesn't do what I was looking for it to do so I really no longer bother with it but I guess it will do for what she uses it for. She actually uses it for all of it's abilities because she has programmed it to do everything that it does. It's just not exactly what I was looking for but it appears to be a pretty smart device.

Poor young Alexia, she’s not able to understand or answer so many questions. She claims she is always learning and getting better but has yet to prove that! I suppose you get what you pay for and we didn’t pay much for her so... on the positive side most of the time she plays the requested music, sets the alarm correctly, gives decent weather reports, and tells goofy clean jokes. Then again so do the free apps on my phone!

Really fun to have Alexa play music while we have friends over. However, half of the time it doesn’t work. It can be more frustrating that worth it most of the time. Might as well go back to a boom box :) much cheaper and you know what you’re getting.

For about 6 months my Echo Plus worked great. Then I stared to hear a fuzziness in the sound after I had it playing it a little while and then stayed fuzzy until I turned it off. The fuzziness started happening sooner and sooner after turning Alexia on. (I have 4 Echo Dots that are older and no problems at all.) Now Alexia is getting hard of hearing when she is playing. She doesn't hear commands and I have to practically yell to get her attention. She doesn't know it yet . . . but I already have her replacement . . . the 4th Generation Echo - Twilight Blue, don't cha know.

Echo Plus is a wonderful item. The only problem that I am having my Echo Plus does not always respond like it should. I have ask multiple times before demand is met.

So far, it is a very serviceable speaker/reference. I know it has many capabilities, but I haven't been able to explore those qualities and uses.

I've had issues trying to get this synced with my new android phone.

Bought this for Helen a 99 year old who's sight is too bad to use a computer, and hearing was poor as well. She picked up on AI (Artificial Intelligence) very easily and can now get the weather, stock market prices, news and more. The audio is loud and clear, and she is now connected to the internet! Gave it 3 stars cause it is Alexa, and she could do more for us and less for Amazon. Helen will be 100 years old June 30th 2019!

Just like any other speaker of this brand, just a little more advanced.

You still need the Philip's hub to manage all the hue bulbs functions. Alexa can turn on and off and change colors, but there are cool things the you have to have the hub with in order to use.

was excited on purchase.....but this has proven itself to be less than stellar...very limited initial startup powers....it needs to do more than act as a voice operated light switch....or turn on music......sorry will not recommend

It works alright, music level is pretty good for an apartment. Sometimes you have to repeat yourself a few times to get her to work.

Still cannot figure out how to use it. I find it annoying . Just sits there and collect dust.

I don’t like the spying Amazon does on you but the device is good to use for home automation.
