I have this for couple of months before I write this ! Well sound is great ! Sometimes start music with out asking ! The light is great ! Over roll I love to ask and have some information handy ! I will reccoment 8 out 10 score for me ! I love technology !

I now have two Echo Plus (2nd Gen) units, both of which I purchased recently. This is my first direct experience with voice assistants, so I don't have much to compare with. From a sound perspective, the Echo Plus is decent. Obviously, it can't compete with my home audio system, but for "easy", casual background music listening, I think it's very acceptable. I've noticed what I perceive to be a slight bit of distortion from the speaker on rare occasions, even when the volume isn't that loud. Turning down the volume further though seems to correct that. As for the voice assistant part, Alexa works very nicely with my ADT Pulse system. The Echo Plus easily picks up my voice and I now have Alexa controlling over 25 different lighting devices and thermostats in my house. Also, the Echo Plus was very easy to set up ... mostly automatic and I was up and running in just a couple of minutes. I gave it 4-stars only because "Alexa" gets confused now and then. Periodically she seems to lose communication with a device (light). Other times, she's unable to answer what should be considered very basic questions, or she totally misinterprets a command. Of course, those quirks may be more attributed to the voice-recognition software, rather than the Echo Plus hardware itself and fortunately those annoyances are minimal. Overall, the Echo Plus is a good choice, and it's even better now with the recent price drop.

A month ago I barely knew what an Alexa was. We were at best buy getting something else when I saw my wife looking closely at the Alexa's. Her mom has one, Our daughter has one, now we have one! I probably use it more than anyone. I love it! She's not the sharpest tool in the shed, but she can do just about anything that comes to mind. For quiet time in the morning I say "Alexa play bird sounds" and she plays an endless sound of birds singing like a summer morning... Any music I want, weather, searches, jokes, stories, games the list goes on! Oh did I mention you can operate your smart stuff too? The Amazon Echo Plus is freaking Great!!!

This is an excellent speaker for what we need it for! We simply wanted a smart speaker to provide decent sound for our main living area. The square footage of the area we wanted covered is around 1,000 sq ft. This speaker more than amply covers the area. I was pleasantly surprised! The base is deeper than I expected. Alexa is generally flawless. The only reason for 4 stars is if you wanted a speaker to create a "party" like atmosphere, I'd go with a Sonos with Alexa instead of an Amazon speaker. Otherwise, this speaker is more than adequate!!

I like my Echo Plus but I think I shouldn’t have bought the Plus because the built-in hub is kind of useless. For many smart devices, you still need to buy their respective hubs except for some smart LED lights from Philips and Sengled. The Philips bulb came with this offer is useless because it lost connection to Echo after about a couple of weeks. I tried a various of ways to connect it but to no avail. Now it is just a dumb light bulb waiting to be replaced. Alexa is cool but far from perfect. It needs a lot more work to make it smarter and the Alexa app needs tons of work because currently the app is not user friendly at all.

Overall, pretty good! I also have 3 2nd Echos and the Echo Plus 2nd Gen sounds better, fuller. The sound can easily fill a room, especially when stereo pairing. Although the sound can fill a room, it still is lacking. The sound is fuller than other Echo devices but I still wouldn't categorize it as a "full" sound. There's a little "twang" to it's sound. The sound is not as crisp as the Homepod (the best sounding smart speaker). The speaker is very functional, easy to setup and simple up use

Love this Alexa. Amazon needs to work on command comprehension, but overall, this unit is great. Does what I need it to do. Mostly use as an alarm clock, "to-do" reminder and to listen to any song, anytime, which it's perfect for if you have iTunes, Pandora, Spotify or Amazon Music. Just call out the tune and presto. Love it! Bought the smaller dots for bedrooms, and bathrooms. All connected seamlessly. Very happy with this purchase.

Music listeners, you will prefer the Plus over all other dots. Significant improvement in bass and low range vs standard echo. If I were to do it over again however I would have added another Sonos play 1. The microphone/wake mode on the Sonos has improved dramatically over the year and sounds much better. If music/sound quality is priority go with Sonos otherwise all the other cool Alexa eco-systyem stuff is worth stepping up to the plus.

The basic set up was easy. The fact the fact that it came with a hue bulb was great, and setting that up was easy too. FIguring out how to enable some links to other apps and turning on some skills took some time. Again, not difficult, but you have to read the instructions. The speaker quality is really good as well. Music sounds great.

Very Good and the size, volume and quality is excellent

Had a difficult time getting it to connect to the home WiFi finally connected on day two. Said there was an existing account already. Had to call customer service on day two was about to give up but now that it’s connected and working really makes things simple and easy. Especially for family members who are disabled.

The Echo Plus works great and sounds wonderful. Setting it us was simple and we have it networked with 3 other echo dots in the house. No more hollering for the kids, just drop in on their echo! We play music throughout the house when entertaining; a great enhancement to the ambiance.

So far just using my Echo Plus for general information and music. It works very well, except when requesting certain artists and song Alexa wants you to join a streaming service. Eventually will set up as a smart home hub and get max use out of it.

I added this to the echos I already had so I could expand my use of Alexa. Works with most of the stuff I have and I’m still figuring out what else I can use it on. Speaker is better than the echo dot but of course it is more expensive.

Much nicer looking and better sound than my first generation Echo. More bass and better tone overall. I’m considering a second one to get stereo, mono sound is getting boring. The original black cylinder is now in the garage

was easy to use not hard at all to get started. I like the fact that the unit will pair with another of the same to have stereo sound as well as use in other room . it also finds your other devices with ease

Dot is very intuitive and easy to set up and use. With the capabilities of adding a smart home system the possibilities are endless. The one drawback is the expense associated with purchasing a smart home system.

I humbly returned the HomePod a week after it came out because I couldn’t justify its use and benefit for the full cost. At the time I was tempted to buy 3 echos to replace it. (Instead got 3 dots for the house). Glad I waited for amazon to make a competitor with better sound, and swooped up this echo plus on sale this holiday season. Sound is decent, not as bassy as HomePod was, but I have a surround sound system in my living room for that. This fills up my hallway, kitchen, and dining room with enough (not crappy sound) that almost fills up these rooms. Apple allowing Apple Music echos is a plus now, too. Syncing my iphone with Bluetooth was easy...just be sure to “Alexa disconnect iPhone” before walking away!!

Improved sound over previous generations. Great features such as speaker pairing with a second echo plus and or subwoofer. Also features a hub to control smart devices. Overall very satisfied.
