Very snappy UI with all of your favorite apps. The included remote is very good as well. Best quirk is the HDMI passthrough that this offers. I don't know if I'd use it but its a cool feature. A couple of downsides is that the ethernet port is still 10/100 and ads are pretty intrusive in the viewing experience.

We had some first generation fire sticks that we needed to replace because they were old and out of date and didn’t work well I am very happy with the decision we made to buy the cube.

Having Alexa for voice control of my electronic equipment is very helpful. The unit is small and unobtrusive. Alexa turns on my TV and sound system with one command and immediately tunes to a fire TV version of Amazon Prime TV. Easy to install and setup. I use one for my primary and secondary TV's. If you have questions you can ask while watching. The cube will also inform you of deliveries from Amazon upon receipt.

Way more internal storage, and better processor for faster download speeds. You can use the Alexa feature to do many of the normal multiple click operations. Setup is very easy. It basically walks you thru the setup. Yes, they are more expensive, but if you’re serious about cutting the cord, and want the best option available, these are a great choice. Like with any streaming device, you need a decent WiFi download speed/provider to have the best performance.

This little device pretty much does it all. Coupled with Alexa I now have my entire life voice controlled. All kidding set aside; this device was purchased specifically for me as I am disabled with mobility issues. Voice control is a blessing. The actual Fire capability is monumentally better than a Fire Stick. No more buffering and waiting on memory buffers to clear. This device does come with a slight learning curve.

Fire Cube vs Shield

Considering the support this device is now getting, I think it does just as well from a streaming standpoint as the Shield, which is all I need it for. If you're looking for a streamer for the main platforms for your HT setup I think this is the way to go.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We had an older firetv, it was so slow, and always had to be reset, it got annoying, we then tried the nvidia shield pro, we had that for about a year, and had to exchange it because it kept dropping internet, new one was fine until it had an update, and then did the same thing. We decided to try the 3rd gen cube, and such a huge improvement. It's fast and responsive, had double the space of our old firetv, we are very happy.

IT ALSO HAS HANDS FREE ALEXA TO BARK ORDERS AT IT WITHOUT HAVING TO USE THE REMOTE. I HAVE SMART PLUGS THROUGHOUT MY HOME AND I JUST KICK BACK IN MY CHAIR AND COMMAND LIGHTS, AIR CONDITIONER ETC WITH EASE
