I purchased this antenna yesterday and I was blown away by how well it worked. I decided to mount it on the roof where an old satellite dish was since the cable was already run and post mounted. Took about 25-30 minutes to take the satellite off and mount this antenna. It's approx. 10 feet off the ground. I did a channel scan and our available channels went from 2 to 21! We are picking up stations that are a little over 50 miles away. I will say that I am using the amplifier from the old indoor antenna we had, but I plan on testing without it just to see how much of a difference it makes. The trees are still bare so hopefully we won't lose any channels once the leaves are out. So far, I'm really happy with this antenna, and for a one time fee of $99.99, we now have 21 channels to watch!!!

I purchased the antenna to be able to watch tv. The previous products would not allow me to catch all the local channels. The antenna is wonderful in catching all the channels. It also allows me to get the channels when it's windy and raining outside. The channels don't freeze and I'm able to view channels more than 45 miles away. I love being able to watch a movie without worrying about it freezing or losing a signal

Cancelled cable and wanted to watch local HD. Mounted this on my chimney outside about 15 feet up and get all of the locals channels around my area flawlessly from about 25-30 Miles away. UHF and the one notorious stubborn High-VHF channel come in great.

I used the youtube assembly video from the Antennas Direct website to assemble this antenna because it was easier to understand and made a lot more sense then the instructions which came with the antenna. I mounted it in my garage on top of a tool shed. I used 3/8" bolts and nuts instead of the screw bolts that came with the antenna. I chose this antenna because I could mount it far away from the TV. The old antenna was a small flat HDTV antenna which we set next to the TV and had to change positions for each channel, not good!! The reception is very good but we're only 5 miles from the TV towers. I mounted it facing the TV towers and haven't had to adjust it at all. I used a 25 foot RG6 coax cable from the antenna to a wall mounted coax outlet and then used a 12 foot RG6 coax cable from the wall mount to the TV. Easy to work with, great reception

I wasn't too sure about the long distance thing when I started but I am pleased with the results. I originally was getting just seven channels with a middle of the line antenna (attic installed) and after my first trial it immediately jumped to 15. When I installed the unit and located it pointing toward the broadcast towers (38-45 miles distant) I received a total of 20 including all networks. I have tested when it was windy and in heavy weather and so far have not lost even a little of the signal.

I was a little skeptical about putting up such a small antenna after having used large Yagi antenna's in the past, but I have been more than impressed with this antenna. I'm located in the Eastern Panhandle of WV, and are (on average) 60+ miles from transmission towers located in Washington DC and Baltimore, MD, with hilly terrain separating my location and those towers. Most all of our channels are in the UHF ranges, however there are a few that are on the higher end of the VHF range. Fortunately my house sits high on a hill, with a clear line of sight east. I didn't want to roof mount something like I had in the past, but wanted to see what I could get with an attic mount. So, I gave the ClearStream a try, and was prepared to add a pre-amp to it if need be. Before I mounted in the attic, I sat the antenna on the floor of my Master Bedroom, which sits on the first floor of the house, and has a bathroom between it and the direction of the transmission towers. Even with it sitting on the floor, I picked up some stations, with one being an ABC affiliate out of Baltimore. I've attached pictures of those results. With it mounted in the attic, and with no pre-amp, I'm picking up all major broadcasters out of Washington, DC, as well as most out of Baltimore, MD. (ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, CW, etc.) Some stations are almost 70 miles from my location, and even in the attic, with no pre-amp, I'm picking up UHF and VHF stations from long range, with signal strength in the 60-75% range. I have been really blown away by the results I've gotten. I was just hoping to pick up a few of the affiliates, but have been pleasantly shocked that I get way more. I actually get the same number of channels I used to get at my old house where I had a deep fringe Yagi with a rotor and a pre-amp. The ClearStream 2V is an amazing antenna and definitely worth the cost.

This antenna is great, installed easy and the quality of the picture I receive is better than cable. I plan on buying another fir our house in Neshannock Pennsylvania. .

This antenna is seriously one of the best I've ever used. I have bought many since cutting my cable a couple years back. I live on the bottom floor of the condo so I am not in the ideal location. There is also a hill behind us so again the location is not ideal. With these "road blocks" I am still able to get all of the local channels. The scan comes up with approximately 40 plus channels. Awesome !

My family decided to dispose of cable and satellite tv. The over the air antenna allows us access to 9 local channels to include all major networks. Ease of installation was a plus, and we were able to do so without additional mounting hardware.

I recently cut the cord and cancelled my Directv. I tried various indoor antennas but finally settled on this Clearstream 2v antenna. I installed it in my attic and ran the coaxial to the cable splitter from the directv satellite. After some adjustments on the angle and direction it works great. I have good signal on all my tvs.

Had an antenna before, an the old antenna didn't get nearly as much channels as this one. Plus there's no lost signal, an picture is clear as if it was cable, but without the high monthy cost of cable.

Antennas are one of those things that their performance can vary greatly depending on your location. I used TVFool for my aiming of this antenna. However, when I aimed directly at the towers I had a poor signal. So, I moved the antenna left and right, and another person watched the signal meter on the TV, till it was the strongest signal. I would suggest patience and experiment with aiming, since my best signal was when "not" aimed directly at a broadcast tower. My broadcast towers are 37-47 miles away and now come in great. Don't just assume that if you aim it directly at the towers, you will get the best reception.

The antenna was easy to assemble. I was able to tie it into the existing cable TV wiring built into the house by replacing the original external cable feed with the antenna feed. The signal was not strong enough for all rooms in the house. I installed a preamp in the cable box powered by 12 volts that was on the coax running from the TV. All rooms have good picture now. Beware the antenna is fragile and not likely to last through a major storm or icing. Given the option, I would have installed it in the attic.

I'm learning to live with less and my cable bill had to go.

First of all, this is not a replacement for cable TV. Depending on the area, this will get 30-40 over the air channels. Cable TV will get you hundreds of channels. But if all you watch is broadcast TV, this will do the trick. I have a roof antenna, but the wire broke off. Antenna installers are rare nowadays, so they can charge whatever they want. The one installer I found wanted $280 just to climb onto the roof. I have cable on my primary TV. I have other TVs, but I only watch broadcast TV on them, so I couldn't see paying my cable company just for broadcast TV on my other TVs. I tried indoor antennas, and even though I live in a major metropolitan area, I couldn't get a decent reception. I mounted this antenna on the back of my house, about 8ft above the ground. For less than $100, I get a great reception on all major channels. It was fairly easy to install, and as long as it faces the broadcast towers, it doesn't require climbing on to a roof.

I was having problems with one station in my area. It was Fox 2 Detroit. I did some investigating and found out that Fox 2 in Detroit was a VHF Digital station. This explains why every leaf antenna worked so well in my house, except for FOX 2. Once I purchased this antenna and placed it in the rafters in my basement, all the channels in my area came in crystal clear. As a matter of fact. They are clearer than the compressed cable I have been paying for years. Cut the cable and come of to the clear side.

I gave it one star because at least it does look like it should work. That is where it ends what a piece of junk. With the claims the mfg makes on the package, this antenna came through with none of the promises it makes. When I called tech support. What a joke. There answer to a product that should not be sold in our area , was disable part of it and see if that would help. This is an absolute don't buy.

Great reception, easy assembly and install, even on our metal roof. Super easy to sync with our home theater system already in place and choose the channels we want to keep. Absolutely NO need to adjust the antenna anymore! We get everything we want in HDTV! It's awesome. We only wonder why we didn't get it sooner!

I bought this open-box item at Best Buy yesterday ($20 savings). I'm in a ground-level apartment, with no outdoor-facing walls facing south, where my broadcast towers are located (30-35 miles away). So, an indoor antenna performed only fair (missing some channels). I set this Direct ClearStream 2V unit up on my patio facing south (5' high, no pole). it's working perfectly! I'm now getting ALL the best local OTA digital channels. The picture-quality is amazing (OTA digital quality is better than cable because it’s not compressed). Combined with my Roku, I'll never go back to paying a cable company $90 per month just for 150 channels, most of which I do not watch. Be a cord-cutter!

We live in a rural area about 30 miles away from two transmission farms. One is NE of us, the other is NW of us..Without an external antenna we could get no usable signals. Using the ClearStream 2V, I was able to pull in 10 channels from the NW towers, plus one or two sub-channels for each one. A couple were experiencing occasional dropouts, so I purchased a cheap RCA signal booster (TVPRAMP1R) and attached that to the antenna. The booster made every signal stable. A re-scan of channels pulled in another dozen channels, with most being very stable. Atmospheric conditions dictate whether I watch broadcasts from the towers NE of me, or NW. Options are good. I had to subtract a star from my rating for the mounting hardware. It is far too light and will not securely hold the antenna no matter how much you tighten the fasteners. The tube started to crush and turn into an oval, yet the antenna was easily moved with light force. Stacking washers on the bolt inside the tube was my fix for this. I suppose a short metal tube would do the same. For $100, I could have bought an antenna with greater range, but antenna size was a major factor in my purchase decision. To make it a better value, Antennas Direct should either make the mounting hardware stronger, or include a signal booster. I would recommend this to someone looking for a small outdoor antenna as long as they are within 30 miles of the towers. My results could have been better, but I did not mount this on the highest point of my roof. I don't have a ladder tall enough, and the pitch of the roof is too steep for me to climb on. Had I put it on the peak, I probably could have done without the booster. A $30 booster is much better than a $10,000 hospital bill, though.
