The speaker seemed to constantly need to be reset to allow my phone to connect. I have built several computers and consider myself to be fairly tech savvy, I couldn’t imagine my grandma trying to figure out how to use this if something went and most likely would go wrong. Returned for a Bose speaker and am much happier now.

Good but not great.

Just buy the original HomePods…

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had my stereo pair of HomePods for nearly 5 years now and they sound nearly identical to the 2nd Gen HomePods. Siri responsiveness is nearly identical as well. I would only recommend grabbing these new ones if you absolutely *need* the warranty, and want Matter support with HomeKit in the future. If you only plan on using them as apart of your surround sound setup, save yourself $150 and get the original HomePods.
