The iPad Mini is a great addition to apple line of products. This tablet provides ease of you with its portable size and design. This device can easily be used by a family of all ages. The built-in camera takes very good pictures and the front facing camera is great for video chat! This device is also great for streaming homemade videos and photos taken on the iPad with the Apple TV product. Siri the built in virtual assistant makes pretty much every task a breeze like sending emails, iMessages, setting reminders and calendar invites! I would definitely recommend theiPad Mini to parents, students, and individuals of all ages!

Can't go wrong with an iPad!

Purchased a 64GB iPad mini with retina screen to upgrade my wife's original mini which had been slowing down under iOS 8. After I saw Apple introduce only minor improvements in the iPad mini 3 I rushed to BB to find this model on a deep discount. We've been very happy with it. Much faster than original mini and the screen looks great. Perfect size for my wife and I don't mind using it either. We are an Apple family and this new mini fills all our needs. Very happy with it and would strongly recommend this model, especially if you can find a left over iPad mini with retina display (now called iPad mini 2) at a good price.

    The Mini

    Posted .

I love the iPad, I've gone from version 1, to version 3 and now to version Mini Retina. I traded the version 1 for a 100 gift certificate and upgraded to this mini. By far the best iPad I had to date. At a minimum get the 64 gig version. My version 3 is only 32 and doesn't have enough space. I'm constantly having to pull of things. With the 64 is has enough extra room to keep several ripped movies and other things without running out of space. Get a case. Eventually its going to drop. Have a Case that goes all the way around is what you want. Don't just get that Apple magnet cover. The back will scratch up. Once, you get hooked into the Apple world, you will be hooked. I was a forever Windows guy......haven't been that way for about 8 years now. Both iPad and there computers work great together. Once you go Mac, you'll never go back.

How can you go wrong with an iPad? You can't

My wife and I purchased this for a cross-country trip, so the kids would have something to watch on the airplane. (at least that's her story... I think she wanted an iPad). Setup: We got it as an open box item. Highly recommended. Saved $40. We're Apple converts, and have other Apple devices (1st get iPad, iPhones, Macs), and setting it up on her iMac was a breeze, just getting the settings correct is a trick if you use one Apple ID for iTunes, and the other for iCloud. Here's the trick: When setting up the device, use the iCloud settings, then in iTunes, change it out to the purchasing account. This way, you have all of your music/apps/movies with the account that buys stuff, and you still get messages on your i-Device. Use: Well, it's an iPad... use it like one. One thing I put in the "bad" column is the lack of cover. It would be nice to have a cover included, and then we can get one we like afterward. Nothing like having an out-of box experience of a $700 device that one drop will, at bed scratch it, and at worst, break it. End: Well, the wife and kids made it across the country, and the iPad was well used to watch Frozen, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs I/II, and there were no issues... and now, Mrs. thequick has a new iPad and loves it!

    Fantastic

Great value. The new mini 3 adds only a finger print sensor, and another color option. Not worth a hundred dollars more then the mini 2. Use that hundred for more GB. The size is great, plenty big still for surfing web playing games and watching movies, plus now i can touch anywhere on the screen still while holding it with my hands on each side, I can reach any part of the screen with my left or right thumb with out having to let go of one side or the other, this makes using it while laying back in bed a pleasure. No more holding with one hand while tapping with my finger on the other hand. This becomes magnified even more when playing games. Some games I would have to play on a table to be able to competitively hit all the buttons(virtual) or whatever was required for the game. Not anymore, perfect size for gaming. I have had the ipad 2 and 4, this mini 2 is my favorite by far.

    Simply perfect!

    Posted .

I traded in my iPad mini (1st generation) for this and boy was it totally worth it. Not only does this new iPad mini retain the things I liked from the old iPad mini (such as the form factor and weight), but it greatly improves on the things that I didn't like about the old iPad mini (such as the slow speed and okay resolution). This new iPad mini simply fills in the gaps of what I didn't like about the old iPad mini. The price is a bit high, I admit, but is totally worth it when you consider things in the long run. The product support from Apple is second to none and the App Store blows other app stores out of the water. Also consider the App Store provides a quality Free App every week and you easily find other daily free apps using a free app a day app. Not only that, the build quality on this thing tells you it can last as long as you want it to. This new iPad mini is simply perfect in every way

Excellent device was amazed that had in stock

My purchase of the iPad mini with Retina display was purely amazing while all other retailers in town and out were out of stock. When I walked in with a semi down look on my face feeling like an idiot asking for the impossible I was asked what size for storage and what color I would like because they had pretty much all of them in stock. I went with the 64GB and its a good sizing for watching HD movies and having some games. I ended up buying and Xbox One and a PS4 from Best Buy as a result of my one time shopping experience and instead of expecting rejection I've learned that while not typically the most cost effective shopping experience that with these price locked items I was able to just walk in and go home with gear in hand. It has given me higher expectations for Best Buy. The is supposed to be a product review so sorry for the derail. The product is awesome and I have zero regrets.

Excellent Performance in a small package

I needed a smaller form factor than the regular sized iPad to use in the cockpit. This iPad mini 2 has all the performance of the full size model without the bulk. I found it to be very easy to see even in full sunlight. It also ran all of my flying apps effortlessly. It definitely met my expectations and I have used it for many hours of flying in all kinds of conditions. Another excellent product from Apple!

I thought long and hard to decide between the iPad Air or the iPad Mini with Retina display. I'm very happy with my selection. I opted for more storage and the smaller form factor as the best balance between price and function. The display is beautiful and razor sharp. For my needs the difference in screen size was not a great concern. I've been very happy with the choice. No regrets.

Love the iPad Mini 2 with Retina!

    |
    Posted .

I love the iPad Mini 2. I got the 64gb because I wanted enough room to have some videos downloaded since we only got the Wifi version. Our daughters love theirs too. I have no complaints so far. Battery life is great compared to my iPhone 4S. I was worried the screen would be too small and I would regret not getting the larger iPad version. But it's a great size. It's easier to bring places and easier to hold. I also like that you can use it upside down, unlike my iPhone 4S. I do that when I'm in bed and have it plugged in because I don't want to ruin the lightning plug (like my iPhone one that is destroyed from bending). Also, I got it at a GREAT price. It was a one-day sale and I'm so glad I decided to do it because the prices went back up the next day. NO REGRETS HERE.

Powerful and Portable with a great screen

I upgraded from the first Ipad version that had the Retina screen, because it was starting to be a little slow with the latest software upgrades, and I was running out of storage. I wasn't sure if I would be happy with the smaller screen, but after using for about a month, I am very happy with it. The light weight makes it much nicer to hold and use as a reader, and I don't find the smaller screen to be a problem for anything I use it for. I carry this in a backpack with a 14" laptop, and was surprised how noticeable the weight savings was when switching to this model. My only significant complaint is that Apple charges such a premium for increased storage capacity. I went with the 64GB because I was about out of space on my 32 GB model, and just couldn't justify the price of the 128GB.

The best small tablet out there hands down!!!

    |
    Posted .

I have used most tablets this size and yes this wins hands down. The fire, galaxy, nook, google, all are ok but this is just in a league of its own. It's basically an oversized iPhone and perfect size. The iPad Air to me is too big, so this is the perfect size. The official apple case although expensive too, is the best case for it as well. I waited out a year and skipped the first mini because of no retina display, it was def worth he wait. Such a huge difference from the regular non retina to this. It's pricier than other tablets at this size, but you get what you pay for. I got he 64GB non cellular and just tether it with my cell phones internet when I need it online. No need to pay an extra $130 for that cellular antenna.

    Perfect Tablet Size

I traded in my iPad 3 for the iPad Mini. Was contemplating for months on whether to get the iPad Air or Mini. Finally decided to go small. When I compared the home screen with the iPhone and older iPad 3 I do see that the Mini's color is not as vibrant. But it's a small difference and would only notice if you were looking for it. I did see two dead pixels, the first dead pixels I have see on an Apple's product. Again, not a deal breaker. Pros Size Weight Resolution Speed - faster than iPad 3 Cons Price went up from the original Mini Can't buy unlock cellular version for international travel at Best Buy. They only sell those at Apple. No flash light Speakers are not as loud as the iPad 3 which was a bit disappointing

The mini iPad is just what I was looking for! The screen size is the perfect size especially. I already have a Macbook laptop and did not want a standard sized iPad. The min allows me to do all the same stuff as the regular one I assume and I love how easy it is to carry around. It is small enough to fit in my backpack and even my purse when I am on the move. I would definitely this make purchase again if I had to re-do it.

    Perfect Size

I have owned three samsung tablets and this is my third Apple tablet. I had a iPad 3 which I gave to a school teacher. I have a iPad four which was given to me by work to process projects. I bought this as soon as it was available and put it in a Griffin Camo Survival case until Lifeproof comes out with their case. I also own the Logitech slim Bluetooth keyboard and a Ecorox speaker. All of this together makes for a portable entertainment and productivity system beyond compare. I have magazines, books, books on tape, tv shows, music, movies, diet planner, and productivity apps and all of the Apple apps. This is a fine product with fast speed and a beautiful screen. You can't go wrong.

    The tablet. Perfected.

    Posted .

The first-gen iPad mini was good. It was the perfect size and weight and the fact that all of the apps on the full-size iPads were immediately available for usage on the mini made the decision to go smaller, even easier. However, I like to read on my iPad and the more I read on my mini, the more I longed for a Retina display because the lower pixel density stand out on a non-Retina (in a bad way). When Apple released the iPad mini with Retina, I immediately ran out and picked one up and I can honestly say Apple has perfected the tablet. It's normal for a Retina model to go up in dimensions and weight, but this was very minimal. It retained the same great battery of the original iPad - I can usually go two full days on a single charge and that's with using it for streaming music/videos, browsing the web, checking email and using apps for business too. The processor speed bump is very welcomed! On the first-gen iPad mini, some things (i.e. your book shelf loading and switching between apps) had a really noticeable lag/delay, which the new iPad mini with Retina display vastly improved on. The addition of Pages, Numbers and Keynote is a HUGE plus. Don't let foolish people tell you that you need a Microsoft product to interact with Office. Not only can you open Word, Excel and Powerpoint files here, but you can actually export them as Office or PDF too and it's ALL FREE! In addition to that, if you're like me and you just do basic-intermediate work in Office, I have yet to come across a time when someone's had an issue with compatibility or formatting with my files. If you're most of an advanced Office user, you can actually run Office 365 on an iPad, but the catch is you have to pay for it yearly - which brings me to my next point - all new iOS devices and Macs get Pages, Numbers, and Keynote for free so that you can start a document on your computer, pick it up on your iPad and make small modifications via your iPhone. If you don't have a Mac, Apple offers free iWork in the Cloud. So if you fall in love with these Apps and you want to use them on a Windows-based machine, simply sign into iCloud.com and you can run all these apps right there in the browser (no plugins or other add-ons required so it works great at school and work where they usually lock the computers down and keep you from installing things)! It works on Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, Opera, Firefox or any other modern (HTML5) browser. You are also fully capable of downloading files from iCloud.com in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, or PDF file formats and printing is also supported. If you're on the fence about WiFi or cellular, I recently upgraded to an iPhone 5S and my company's data plan allows us to use our phones as Personal Hotspots - so when I cannot connect to WiFi I simply enable the hotspot on my phone and thru the iPads WiFi menu select my phone, key in the code and I'm off to the races. If you're using your iPad for school - KNO, CourseSmart and Notability are indispensable apps! Also register at https://copy.com?r=0Oy7FR for 20GB of FREE CLOUD STORAGE. This blows the pants off of DropBox's 2GB.

Used nearly daily, this little guy is a terrific addition. Of course, 4 years later, as soon as I post the review, it will stop, but I doubt it. Used for work, personal all around use, school, and play I would get one in a heartbeat. While a bit spendy at first, it has been well worth every penny.

For the $$$ this is the best

This is a great tablet!!! I was looking for something light with a long-lasting battery and the iPad Air fit the bill perfectly. I travel a lot for work, but this is my travel toy. I don't use it much for office stuff. The screen is beautiful and 64gb is enough for all my stuff. The only negatives I can think of are that iOS 7 drains the battery more quickly than its predecessors (but I can still get 7-9 hours between charges...usually closer to 7). Also, the home button doesn't always react to when I push it. Seems like I have to hit a certain part of the home button (upper right) to get the contact. May be a faulty unit.

Exceptional Tablet, you get what you pay for

I only used this tablet for about a month. I upgraded from the first generation IPad and found it quite an upgrade. It was lighter and slimmer in size. The speed and response of it was also upgraded. However, when I tried out the newer iPad Mini, I was immediately blown away by its high retina display which this iPad did not include. I was still within my return window and I decided to return it and get the iPad Mini with high retina display, simply because of its dramatically noticeable display. I forgot to mention that Best Buy bought back my iPad one and gave me a gift card in which I used toward the purchase of this iPad.

I do love apple products and love the size of the mini vs the air. I had to get the 64 gig vs 32 to store all my music and apps ad pics. It's a shame you have to spend twice the money vs competitors. Apple is lucky I really like their products but they need to be careful their competitors may make it difficult to stay loyal.
