My 2008 Infiniti has an iPod connector which allows me to access my iPod music and listen to the music through the cars sound system. Today's cars let you use Bluetooth to connect to the cars sound system. Unfortunately my cars Bluetooth can only access the phone for hands free driving. This Apple Lightning to 30 pin adapter lets me connect to the iPod connector in my car and access my music from my iPhone 7 and listen to the music through the cars sound system.

Exactly what I needed. Does the job, as advertised.

It's so disappointing to me that new products don't "retrofit" older items. Case in point ~ fantastic Bose portable sound dock with speaker which I've had for at least 6 years and works great! But is my new iPod compatible with it? NOPE! Must buy an adapter to handle the new plug! Luckily, this one handles audio and clearly states that (I.e., not just a charger). My only complaint, and this is Apple not Best Buy, is the cord length. Not even long enough for me to lay my iPod down. I have to prop it up to see the screen ~ but that's a minor inconvenience compared to NOT being able to use it at all!

This is the second one I've purchased to adapt for my car. I'm forced to use the new style connector for my phone, so this is my only choice due to the bulky nature of the otter box. Apple needs to work on the strength of the cable itself near the end connectors.

The device works as expected. It just doesn't give enough length to be useful on many devices. If you have anything other than a basic doc where the adapter is less than an inch from the table top, you are going to be cursing the length of this adapter.

I was hoping to save some money and get this connector to hook up my iPad to my already existing 30 pin vga connector for my projector. It would not work, much to my disappointment. Had to return and buy the Lightning vga connector.

it works,,,but doesn't always work smoothly...sometimes you have to plug the connector in & out of the iPad to get the picture to show on the tv...it does work,,,but requires a little patience at times...also this is VERY over priced...

So as we all know the new iPhones do not use the pin connection any longer. If you are unlucky enough to have one of the bose or Sony machines, as well as others, that worked the phone if you attached it to the unit, then you are either out this means of listening to your music OR you need something to adapt to the connection. Well Apple is nice enough to make this. Yes it IS expensive. However this is less expensive than buying a new system to listen to your music. This will also charge the phone and take commands from the playback unit.

Our home is now cluttered with different generations of various accessories and items that we are not ready to part with, namely the original Bose docking/speaker systems we added to various spaces in our home when we had 30 pin iPods and iPhones. Had ordered some generic adapters that came 'used' and didn't work...you get what you pay for, so ran to BB and bought these and they make me happy that I can listen to music and books on my Bose speakers and keep my phone charged in any room I chose to be in at the moment.

Purchased a cheap version of the adapter on line thinking it would save some money. The vendor was very helpful, but after two attempts neither of the products they sent worked as promised. I purchased this one from the Edwardsville, IL Best Buy and it worked as advertised. It is really handy it you have an amplified speaker system with the old Apple 30 pin connector and you have the new Lighting connector on your Apple device. I actually bought it for our VW that had the old 30 pin connector as the car audio interface.

Guess I should've done my homework first. this cable doesn't do anything but charge or the audio out there's no video out which is what I was getting use it for giving presentations using keynote doesn't work it all for that

My vehicle head unit has the Apple iPod hookup connectivity. However, it was for the old 30-pin dock connector. I can verify that this converter to the lightning connector can charge, play music, and able to control (like originally intended) the iPod/iPhone. I was weary to use the "knock off" Amazon products that do the same thing. It is hit or miss with them. However, while you are spending more buying an "Apple certified and made" cable, you can have a piece of mind it just works.

Great for what I needed it for.I honestly don't know why people are rating it so bad these cable works great and its really long if you want a longer cable just pay the $10 extra and you will get the longer one don't be a cheap person Over all these cable charges really fast, its really long and your $20 are really well spend I normally don't rate any items but I thought it was so unfair that everyone is giving such a bad rating just because they think its short its not a Short cable its a little longer than the original charger that came when you purchased your iPhone and as I said before it works!
