Genuine Apple cables are notoriously expensive, but aftermarket cables for Apple products are notoriously unreliable. This device works and has the same grip shape as a dedicated lightning connector, which means it will fit through any case that has a proper charging port. It allows using older cables for newer devices (useful for traveling with devices of multiple generations) and more importantly for me, it allows using a new iPod or iPhone with a radio or speaker having an integral 30-pin connector. It's an expensive but effective way to "bridge the generation gap."

I mean...its a cord. My only choice was the plug only or a short cord. It works fine, but I had to pay an extra $10 for the cord and it's short. I just bought a new Audi and it came with a phone plug that doesn't work on Apple so I had to buy this as an adapter. The only place to plug in the phone is my glove box, but the cord does not reach the center console so to plug in my phone while driving is a dangerous affair. My phone does seem to charge quickly using this cord and the sound of the music playing from my phone through the car speakers is perfect.

Like any other apple charger it doesn't hold up very well and also much shorter than expected. kind of what you expect from apple though. Pay a premium for the name and you get what you get.

The cable is overpriced IMO, but if you need a converter you don't really have another option. This isn't as durable as I would like it to be either, had to buy a new one after a year.

I have a very good wired Bose iPod speaker with 30-pin connection. I have used the speaker with a 30-pin iPod for several years. I have been very pleased with the speaker. I have since acquired an iPad with lightning connection from which I wanted to play music with my Bose speaker. This lightening to 30-pin adapter cable provides this capability beautifully. I am now very pleased with everything: The cable, the iPad, the speaker and the music.

Used this product to link my old car stereo to my IPhone. My OEM unit is a Bose unit in my 2003 Tahoe and is linked to my steering wheel controls. This product has enabled me to link my IPhone to my stereo again and enjoy great tunes. To the surprise of the staff at Best Buy the unit does charge the iPhone when plugged in. Great I can listen to my music while traveling and know that my IPhone will be fully charged when I leave my vehicle.

Bought this so I could use my new Iphone so I could continue to use with all my other products that connect and charge my iphone. My car and my 2 alarm/speaker docks had the old 30 pin connector. Instead of buying new stuff, I bought a few of these adapters. Kinda expensive for just an adapter wire but cheaper than buying whole new docking stations. Works fine and bought the genuine apple so to be a guarantee that everything works as normal.

Wanted this cable to attach my iPhone 8 to my legacy devices with 30 - pin ports including two stereos and my alarm clock. The cable works flawlessly with all of the devices and now I can listen to Spotify, Pandora, or podcasts through the whole house. Because this is an Apple cable the phone charges on these devices while plugged in. A feature that is missing from most of the other vendors cables.

It's works no problems, but the cable needs to be longer and flat, for vehicles that has their outlet in the glovebox

I have tried other adaptors and most can only charge. This unit supports synch, music, and charge. However, it is very expensive, so if you only want charge purchase a third party adaptor that can be found for less than $5. But for a full functioning adaptor this Apple adaptor does it. However, I believe that I saw somewhere in the info that it does not do video transfers. You will have to check elsewhere to make sure of this.

I bought this for my car because my car came with a 30 pin cable meant for iPhone 5 and older. I have an iPhone 7 and wanted to play music but I couldn't because it has a lightning port. This adapter made it to were I can now listen to music in my car with my iPhone 7. Works great! I tried other adapters, but this is was the only one that worked for me, and continues to work 7 months later!

Bought this connector because I have some iHome devices that only use the 32 pin connector and my phone is a lightning port. I couldn't find any other brand of connector except apple in stores. Too impatient to wait for shipping. It was pricey but I have bought off brand connectors in the past and not all connectors are created equal. One even messed up the port on my phone. Overall the price is worth not having to replace the port on phone.

My Dodge Ram 1500 radio has a nice plug mounted in the glovebox, with a special connector (at least in 2010) to connect an iPhone. The iPhone can be controlled solely and directly by the vehicle's radio touchscreen in the console. Now that I have an iPhone 7, I needed to have an adapter. This adapter cable, along with a separately purchased 6 foot Lightning extension cable, fit the bill.

It was nice because it allowed me to use a very old apple iPod adapter I had installed in my car for a newer iPhone. For that cost, it should charge it as well, but definitely does not. Are also hard to find and if you want to leave your phone in the case you need one where the adapter is not fixed to the base such as some If the cheaper ones

Not much to say except it works as expected. I used it with my Jensen stereo in my boat & now I can play music from my iphone 5 through the stereo dongle designed for the 30pin connector. It also works great on my clock radio with 30pin connector. Only gripe is the price is pretty high for what it is. I love Apple products but this thing should be $20 max!

I bought this for my scion tC's iPod cable that was the 16 pin plug. I plugged it in and it works! And the nice thing is that it adds some length to the cord so you can go through your play list easier if you don't scroll through it on the actual radio. Plus I could always bring it in the house to use. I kinda wish it was a little bit longer but the cable in my car is longer than it was before.

I have an 2008 Mercedes which has an iPod adapter that new phones cannot plug into. This lightning 30 pin allowed me to be able to convert my car into Bluetooth. I am able to listen to my Apple Music on my iPhone in my car. When Mercedes said they couldn’t convert it. It only cost $40 and I am beyond grateful to have it. God is awesome.

Works way better than generic cable. Bought a cheap cable off eBay and it could only charge iPhone. Plus it just stopped working after about a month. This adapter made it possible to charge, and have access to iTunes music playlists, artists, songs, etc. I know the genuine apple adapters and cables are more expensive, but it is generally worth spending the extra $$$

A friend had one of these & when we upgraded our Apple devices, knew we had to get one. It works with our iHome and our Garmin gps. We tried one of the all in one converters first, but discovered that if you have a case on the device, the lightning is not long enough to connect correctly, so purchased this style, and are very happy! Highly recommend.

I really wish Apple would figure out how to make a cord last for more than 6 months without breaking! Other than that it's great.
