The item works flawlessly, converting the old 30 pin Apple connector to the new Lightning connector. Technically, the product is sound. However, because it is an Apple branded product, expect to pay a premium. I think the price was far too high, and that's what keeps this from being a five-star review.

Bought this to use with our iPod adaptor in our van. Cable construction and connectors were great on this, but the Digital to Analog converter is poor quality and we heard a lot of compression artifacts. Returned it and stuck with an analog adaptor, which used the headphone jack with better results.

The staff at Best Buy made the purchase of the go-pro and accessories very easy. They also assisted with redeeming my Best Buy bonus points towards this purchase. Will definitely recommend this store to others and shop there myself in the future.

It works as stated to allow using my older products, i.e., camera adapter and SD adapter, that I had for my older iPad. Having this cable which has the wired extension, means I don't have to worry about taking my iPad out of its case to use it. Love it!

This cable is a life saver! I have an older console in my car and this attachment allowed me to convert the older output to the one my phone needs. And yes, it also charges your phone :)

This adapter cable should have been the original design for the 30-pin to lightning adapter. The other version would not work if you had a case on your iPhone. The wire is much thicker and sturdier as well. Only giving 4 stars because the price is a bit high.

This does what it is supposed to do, convert from the "new" 30 pin to the 8 pin. I added it to an "old" 30 pin to "new" 30 pin adapter and now I can charge and operate my phone in my 2006 model year car. I would have given it 5 stars if it made the power conversion without the extra adapter in line.

It's extremely expensive, and will break quickly. I use it to connect my iPhone to my car stereo, which has a 30 pin connector, and within a few weeks the plastic next to the connector starts to break apart. Unfortunately there are not many third party converters like this, so I guess we're stuck.

My car didn't come with the iPhone 5 adapter so this cord is perfect to keep in my center console. My daughter visits on the weekends and she often drives us when we go out shopping in my car. We can enjoy all her newest music and charge her iphone 5 at the same time!

Got this product to use with our docking station that is connected to our stereo. By having this we don't have to take our iPhones out of their case when we place them in the dock. It has the smaller 30 pin end which works with all otter box cases.

Used it for my car,which came setup with the 30-pin cable for my 4s. This adaptor works perfectly AND because it's on a cable and NOT the simple adaptor-on-the-back-of-the-30-pin, I don't have to remove the phone case.

The cable does exactly what it says. I'm able to charge and listen to all my music through both my older 30 pln docs and Alpine car stereo. The only disadvantage is video no longer plays via lightning connection, which may be of concern to some users.

...As with all Apple accessories, this one is overpriced as well.

My car came with the 30-pin connector in the glove compartment, and VW doesn't have a lightning connector to replace it. This adapter makes it possible to plug my phone in and leave it in the glove compartment while I drive.

It's amazing how quickly technology changes. I bought a vehicle that still had the 30-pin adapter, so I bought this to work with my iPhone 6. It works perfectly. The cord is much thicker than a traditional iPhone charging cable so I know it will last.

If you have old iPhone 30 pin hook ups and don't want to change the entire cable, this is a good adapter to fix that. It usually doesn't interfere with any cases for the phone and doesn't have all the extra cable of the standard 1 meter cable.

I bought an aftermarket cable for my car and off course it didn't work. My suggestion, buy the apple cable and it will work as intended; although way more expensive, but it will charge your phone and transmit audio to your car speakers.

I had a large tower from Brookstone. When I graduated to new I phone 6x, I could not use the tower. This adapter works perfect. You should know I went to the Apple Store and they were unable to help me. Best Buy is always there for me.

I have a Bose IHome for my old Ipad 2nd generation. I was upset when I learned it wasn't compatible with my new Ipad. IHome recommended Best Buy. The representative at Best Buy ordered me this item. It works perfectly. All is well in my world!

I used this to convert my 30 pin docking station on my stereo to a lightning plug so that I could use my new iPod with my existing stereo. It works great and still allows me to use my remote to control the iPod.
