It just works great. I went from a pc that had issues upgrading from windows 7 to windows 10. The operating system crashed durring the upgrade. So i decided to purchase a Mac mini, and im so happy i did. Its so powerful and also so easy to use. I have used an Iphone for about 6 years but never taken the plunge to a mac computer because of cost and i just wasent familiar with the operating system. Im so happy i decided to purchase this because the learning curve wasnt bad at all. In fact the Mac is so much more simplified then any of my old widows computers. Im very happy with the purchase!

If you have dedicated Mac software needs or are already a serious Apple enthusiast, I assume that you are already running a higher end iMac. This is not that machine and this review is not for those people. This computer is a very nice entry level computer if you want to get into the MAC OS universe, as we did. BONUS- IT RUNS WINDOWS VERY EASILY, more on that later. The base model is worthless. The high end model is expensive, the middle model (this review) is the sweet spot for memory and graphic capability, IMO. Even more custom configurations are available through Apple. If you run an iPhone or iPad or both, the Mac OS ecosystem is almost intoxicating with its seemingly seamless integration of communications, photos, and other services. For the casual user, the hardware and software integrated Apple universe is a compelling alternative to the Microsoft and whoever happens to make your hardware and software universe. HOWEVER, Apple and Mac do not have the seemingly ends library of software that is available to Windows users. Games in particular. Never fear, with a little know how and the Boot Camp program (provided and supported by Apple) you or the Geek Squad can easily install Windows on your Mac Mini so that you can easily choose which you wish to run with the click of an icon. My kids spend all their time in Windows playing games and doing things that they are accustom to. In that sense, this hardware is a solid computer that can connect to your existing keyboard, mouse, and display. As a bonus that may offset the extra cost over a pure Windows computer, you can log into Mac OS as well and let you dabble in that world as well. I log into Mac OS to work with my iOS (iPhone and iPad) data and persona. And for that reason, so long as you have the monitor, keyboard, and mouse, this is a very nice and versatile computer that can do a lot more than your average small form factor computer. Definitely recommended. and if you are getting ingrained into the iOS ecosystem, having a pure Mac OS computer is almost a necessity to really leverage that user experience. If that computer can also spend a lot of its time working as a Windows computer, so much the better.

This is a very nice unit that fits my needs for a small foot print model. I have a roll top desk with a LG 23 inch monitor barely fitting under the roll top. The Mac Mini sits next to the display and isn't a desk hog size wise. Setting up the Mac was easy and the apps we use run flawlessly on it. Still getting use to the Apple version of the MS Office suite, but still can use the MS365 Office from work. All in it this just works without a hitch. Looking forward to the next OS upgrade coming out the end of September.

We love Apple, so when we needed another computer for our 10 year old, this was the perfect choice. Great basic, small footprint, enough power for gaming but enough storage for other stuff. It actually replaced a Chromebook that we bought her for schoolwork; the Chromebook wasn't versatile or powerful enough to deal with the other things she wanted to do. The Mini was a good price, great value!

In my many years of using computers (started out on a Commodore 64), I have always used Windows, so making the change to a Mac was a big deal for me. It has taken some time to adjust, and I still have things to figure out (where ARE the en and em dashes and other special characters in Pages???), but for the most part, the transition has gone smoothly, and I like iOS a lot.
I purchased an Open Box Mac, which enabled me to afford the 2.6ghz tower. It doesn't look brand new (a bit of wear on the casing), but I haven't had any trouble with it. I wanted the mid-level tower, so I can upgrade the memory and possibly change out the hard drive at a later time. I was concerned that 8gb of memory would not work for me, but it is fine.
I just purchased the tower because I already had Dell speakers, monitor, keyboard, and mouse. I have been unable to get the speakers to work, which is frustrating, so I am just getting by with the internal speaker for now. I am content with the monitor I have, but I will eventually want to get the other items from Mac.
I like this little guy. He doesn't take up much room on my desk, and he is surprisingly fast. I do recommend this computer, but if anyone knows where to find the special characters in Pages, would you tell me? Professor Google doesn't seem to know.

I already have a nice monitor, so I decided to get a Mac mini for my next computer. I debated about which model to get and settled on the mid-level late 2014 model. I've heard people complain about it not being upgradeable and that the 2012 models are more powerful. However, I'm not interested in upgrading it, and this particular model has as much power as I need. It comes with Yosemite already loaded on it and has performed well so far. I originally thought about going with the Fusion Drive model, but this model has been very snappy so far and is plenty fast for me. For $200 more than the base model, you get twice as much RAM, a twice as large hard drive, and a much better processor. There are always more powerful computers out there, but this one does what I want without breaking the bank.

The Mac mini replaced my Macbook Air because it was struggling to keep up with my needs. I already have a thunderbolt display and I purchased an extra Samsung display to run a dual monitor. The Mac mini performs like a charm! Easy to install and connect. Very quiet. Handles multiple apps/programs and is plenty fast for my home business and personal design hobby. The bonus, is when there are upgrades to Apple hardware, I can just buy a new Mac mini at half the price of an iMac.

The Mac Mini has been to be just as reliable and powerful as any Macbook or iMac I have owned with the added benefit of being portable. The compact size does not take up much space. I plugged the Mac Mini into my television using an HDMI cable, which doubles great as a computer screen. All I needed to do then was add my mouse and keyboard, and I was all set to start using my new Mac Mini.

This is my first Apple - Mac mini. It is small, sets on top of my desk and makes it easy to do anything I need to do. It is FAST and easy to use. I highly recommend this computer. It also has built in speakers for casual use. Very happy with my purchase and the service.

I prefer the old design that was more easily upgradable for hard drives and allowed extra RAM. But 8 Gigs is find for RAM on this model -- that amount should be enough for the lifespan of this model -- and the hard drive CAN be replaced/upgraded, it is just a little harder.
On general this model works well. Fast overall. No problems or issues. One star down for upgrade limitations, not actual use.

I had the misfortune of two MBPs, each of them about 10 yrs old, failing within a period of a week. The repair tech who had given me the bad news about the MBPs had suggested I look at the Mac Mini. I compared the Mini to a variety of iMacs and MacBooks. The Mini was at the right price point, and because I don't do video editing, gaming, or other CPU-intensive activities, the Mini more than met my performance needs. Because there is little, if any, scope for subsequent upgrade of components, I chose this version that has a larger hard drive and more RAM than the basic model. The price, including a Bluetooth keyboard, an HDMI cable (I already had a HDMI monitor), and AppleCare, was well within my price range. Setup was easy - I had run Time Machine on the old MBP the day the MBP died, and I used that Time Machine backup to setup the Mini. I've had no problems with the Mini. Though I didn't recognize the significance when I was making my buying decision, the Mini has 4 USB ports. If you're used to having only 2 USB ports on any version of a MB, MBP, or MacBook Air, the presence of 4 ports will seem like a luxury. And of course, the Mini takes up little desk space, another plus in my eyes since my desk is otherwise covered by papers and, occasionally, dog treats.

This product was very easy to set up, total of 5 minutes from open box to on the Internet. I also love the space saving. This processor, the keyboard, mouse, and disk drive all fit in a typical plastic grocery bag and is lightweight. Faster than any PC I ever used.

So far, this is a great computer at a nice price, delivering everything you'd expect from a Mac. Can't wait to see if it lasts as long as our last iMac (7 years and going strong aside from screen lines and CD drive issue, but a good comp for the kids).

Extremely happy with my Apple Mac Mini for so many reasons. As a long time PC/Windows user it's such a joy to use a computer that just makes sense, is logically designed and works without frustration. I also have a far more expensive Windows 8 laptop and there is no comparison in terms of ease of use and user experience. I was concerned about the lack of future upgradability but this computer is plenty fast enough for everyday computing and running the software it comes pre-loaded with. I also love that Yosemite offers a more secure OS from malware and viruses in comparison to Windows, although realize that this may change over time. The Mac is completely quiet, no fan noise, works great with my existing peripherals and is just so easy to interact with. Unless MS does something radical I could never see buying another Windows machine again.

If you like Mac's, then this is the most inexpensive and most productive way to go. You can select your own monitor, keyboard and mouse, speaker system, etc to use. Buying a bigger LED Monitor with HDMI cable makes this Mac Mini look excellent. Compare the IMac prices to the Mini with your choices of the said above and you will save money in the long run and get a great looking Mac Computer. I bought this because my Old G3 went down after 15 years. I had an 2001 model. Sorry to see it go. But this with a 25 LED HP Monitor, Logitech speakers, keyboard and mouse. You can't beat it. Look for sales at Best Buy. You will be very Happy!

In the age of so many laptops and operating systems, it's refreshing to see Apple have an affordable computer for people that love Apple products. It integrates seamlessly with mobile devices, Apple TV, other laptops, etc. Plus it's got the horsepower to do everything that a high-end laptop should do. If you are ever considering buying a new non-laptop computer, the Mac Mini is simply your best choice.

Bought this computer for using with my other Apple products and as my "Cloud" drive. It works great for this and doesn't take up much space. iPhone and iPad now back up quickly and I don't have the problems of iTunes not playing well with my Windows computer anymore! I use the apple VGA adapter with it so I can use the same monitor with my Apple computer that I use with my Windows computer. I have the Apple computer plugged into VGA port on my monitor and I use the DVI port on monitor with my Windows computer. This setup is great - no plugging and unplugging of computers and monitor. All in all I am very pleased with this setup because it was very cost effective!

When my desktop PC started giving me issues I began my search for a new one. Having Iphones I was interested in the Apple products but the Macbooks were a little bit more than what I wanted to spend. Plus, I really do not have a need for a laptop. That's when I came across the Mac Mini. It's small (Sits on top of my desk and not beside it), quiet, and fast. So far I have been very pleased with the purchase!

I was one of those people that said they would never own a Mac, well I now own a Mac, and I love it(I have been a Dell guy for about 20 yrs). Amazing how it can process so many different apps all at once and not getting "frozen." One of the main reasons I bought this Mac Mini was..I am able to install Windows on it, so I did not have to go out and re-buy all my specialty programs. The price I got this Mac, the trackpad, the keyboard(and I like the 2 USB Ports in the keyboard...very handy), the Apple Superdrive and my external backup drive was cheaper than buying a desktop PC that I was looking at. Another reason is the size of the Mac Mini-My desk is pretty much clutter-less now.
After a little learning curve as to were to find everything on a Mac, I get around easliy now. Don't be afraid of Mac, OS it is actually very user friendly. So far so good, no hang-ups, I have not received any operating system errors. So if everything goes ok with this Mac, in a few years I probably will upgrade to one of the Apple 27" all-in-one Mac's.
