The one purchased from Apple for my wife for Christmas came with the new M1 chip. I didn’t discover until a couple weeks later that this was the older model with the Intel chip. Lower battery life slower processor.

Mac is great but BestBuy service not so great

We had to contact Apple directly to track down the AppleCare ( although it showed on the BestBuy receipt), and they needed to escalate and contact BestBuy to resolve it. It literally took a month for the AppleCare to finally show in the mac's settings. We'll purchase our Apple devices all directly from Apple in the future.

Poor performance

Anytime I have more than a handful of screens open the fan turns on and runs super loud. Plus I've only had it for a couple months and the battery degrades very quickly. Today I was working and it went from 100% to 50% in less than two hours. Very disappointed.

Laptop feels like it’s going to break in half of you open it too far; may be nice for a 45-year-old Ryan Reynolds-esque dad who sits at his dinner table but for a mom with two kids attempting to obtain a visual arts degree it’s not as worthwhile as I’ve heard claimed
