This laptop is so light and convenient! It works amazing, I have had it for almost 4 years now and it has not given me any issues whatsoever. Highly recommend!

I have always been a Windows user and wanted to give MacOS a try. My needs are pretty simple as I don’t really game or edit videos. So I read the great first reviews and watched the first YouTube videos saying to upgrade to the i5 and that it was a great MacBook, etc. In fact they said it was the best MacBook ever for the money! I pulled the trigger and spent the $1300+. For the simplest of tasks I find the computer to be amazing. As days went on I continued to watch Youtube reviews that started to say how the computer gets really hot when pushed to the limit and that there is a flaw in the cooling system. As I said my needs are simple so I didn’t think this would be an issue for me. Until last night! I decided to push it a little. First I opened about 8 browser tabs in safari and then watched a high def video in YouTube at the same time. I could feel the area above the CPU starting to get pretty warm and the fan came on. Nothing crazy but it came on. Then I subscribed to the Apple arcade which has some fairly simple games by today’s standards and downloaded some of them. I started the first game and found that the computer got really hot and the fan went to full blast. On the second game it was still warm and the fan was still on but not quite as bad. On the third game I got about 30 seconds in and the computer made a “whoosh” sound and shut itself off. I restarted and went right back to this game. Again 30 seconds in and the same thing happened. I am not sure if it was a flaw in that particular game or if it was just too hot. I download the same game onto my iPad Pro and played it without issue. So in closing if you plan on using this for the simplest of tasks I would absolutely recommend. However, it was quite discouraging to me though to spend $1300+ for a computer that can’t handle much more than Netflix or web browsing without risking damage to the computer, especially after “upgrading” to the quad-core i5 model. The review videos I watched bragged of the upgraded graphics card in this computer but that hardly matters if it overheats in the simplest of games and could lead to damage. I think I will return it and spend a little more for the MacBook Pro......

I have had this for a little over two years. Overall, it is a great product and so easy to transport.

Worked really good at the beginning, but after a year or two things slowed down. I think ibecause I frequently updated it, and you know apple has a thing about “slowing down devices” over the years and also battery life gets worn down. But for the first two years it was a really good laptop and very premium feeling, I suggest waiting to updating it every couple months.

I mean I feel like Apple is superior and I purchased this particular apple in. June 0f 2020 hoping to still get some goos years in it. I enjoy using my apple so much.
