Nice upgrade from my old MacBook Air
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a nice upgrade from my old MacBook Air. It's a little smaller and about the same weight. Wish it had at least one USB port. I had to purchase a new mouse as the USB to C adapter I bought was too obtrusive looking. It is super fast and easy to set up and use. Main difference I notice is that this one runs pretty hot sometimes. The keyboard is a nice upgrade, too.

Good Computer!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good computer works well to complete desired tasks, I ultimately took off one star because sometimes after intense use I’ve noticed that the computer will heat up slightly. Also, although the touchbar is a good addition to the computer, however, I feel that in the long run it reminds buyers that the computer is not a touch screen computer. Other than these two complaints, the computer is fine and works as desired and is easy to use. I

Runs well, but runs hot!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're coming from a mac, the experience is similar. It's much faster and snappier. Pros: Speed Touch bar(Downloading pock makes it less useless) Speakers(Very good) Cons: Heat- This thing gets very hot under intensive and semi-intensive work loads. Downloading macs fan control helps, but only because it helps runs the fans on full blast manually. Battery: Unless you use only safari and mac native apps, you won't get anything >5 hours at max. Overall, if you need a mac that somewhat capable, this is it. However, the arm chips will be night and day for heat and battery management. Macs run hot and that's just how it is. If you'd rather not deal with that, wait for the ARM chips and you'll likely be pleasantly surprised vs using Intels mini furnace chips. If you can wait, then just wait till October or November,

$1799 for $1099! How could you not buy this?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. How could I not? The sound is louder than the MacBook Pro and Air M1 chips due to sound also dispersing additionally through the fan exhaust on the bottom. The benchmarks are a bit slower than the M1's but I am not a power user, just use her for my work needs that are mostly web based and playing media. You get almost double the storage. Same great trackpad and keyboard. Runs a bit warm at times on the bottom, but nothing crazy, the fans infrequently start up. The display seems about the same. Battery life is fine, I am always looking to plug in anyhow, but not M1 long. The ports being on both sides is another plus. When BB put this on sale for less $700.00 yesterday, I jumped on it and could not be more pleased!

Pros and cons
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a great computer! Apple's screens are terrific, the keyboard and trackpad are unparalleled, and the computing power and memory are plenty for data work like mine. If looking for downsides: it gets very hot, and the battery life unplugged is at best 3 hours.

Zippy computer but does get warm
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from windows, the workflow of Mac OS is streamlined and easy to pick up. Very fast computer for basic tasks and has enough power for mid-range graphic applications. Only complaint is the laptop does get pretty warm after extensive use which I hope is fixed through later OS updates.

Great workhorse MacBook
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works as good as advertised. Does everything I need it to do for my personal and business use. It gets a little warm when you use any attachments like for second screens or monitors, and when using video conferencing. But this does not take away from the performance.

iPhone Pro Max with a keyboard
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hardware is ok. The keyboard isn't great, battery life is nothing to write home about. It gets hot to the touch. I could probably flip it and melt food on the back. I let it cool down completely in the open before putting it away. The display, track pad, and the four type c ports are nice. It's weird not having an HDMI or ethernet port on such an expensive laptop. I like the touch bar when watching movies. It's the only time I actually use it. Mac os seems to use a lot of ram. All and all its ok. If you're on a budget, just get a cheap PC. No computer is going to do everything great so just prioritize what's important to you. I prefer the PC for coding, spreadsheets, and file management. I like the Mac for movies and online shopping. Should I have just bought an iPhone Pro Max instead of a Mac? Probably.

Great laptop with great features!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is everything you want and more! The display is beautiful and the operating speed is amazing! The only thing I will say about it is that it does seem to get hot relatively quickly and the fan will turn on. I have heard that this is an ongoing issue with Mac laptops so just FYI.

It's a Macbook Pro
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from PC, myself. It took some time to get used to the OS, but this thing runs like a champ. A little warm sometimes, though.

Its a MacBook
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 4th MacBook, so I'm not in a learning curve and set up was easy, but might not be for a first timer. The biggest surprise for me was how hot the bottom gets when live streaming video. In my experience laptops run hotter the older they get, and I sure hope that isn't true with this one, because it gets too hot to touch one month in.

Wish I had made better choices
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its heavy, and it gets burning hot when sitting on my lap. I wish I had gotten a touch screen (my fault).

Should have waited for the M1 lol
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It over heats. From day one its over heated. I only gave it 3 stars because it really is a nice laptop. It just runs hot all the time. Honestly I wish I waited 2 months and just got the m1 chip for 400 cheaper. It runs cooler and faster with the new design, Im honestly hoping I can trade in my laptop for the new one, since I bought it in September but didn't open it til jan. 3 year warranty too.

So happy I upgraded
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love it. Retired my 2011 era 13” MacBook Pro and bought this. Super happy with the keyboard. Using mostly for Lightroom, Photoshop, and YouTube. Haven’t noticed any heat issues. I’m sure this will last me 5+ years.

not perfect
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.really like everything it has going for it - but gets too warm for me and is on the heavy side. I thought I bought a LAPtop but its suggested not to use in your lap. Could be just this one with the heat issues but hardware tests ok. Must admit the air has no heat problems but does not have this motor in it. If you just use for email and internet and other such programs it is not a issue.

Excellent product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Mac and I would say, it is a fantastic machine. The OS works fast and smooth, and the tools you have for your daily uses are incredible easy and nice. The compatibility with your phone and AirPods and unit from apple. What I don't like is the heat that comes from the back next to the touch pad.
