Good build. love the bar. Had to figure out the off button is part of the touch bar when macOS got stuck.

Omg. Opening docs etc is so fast. My previous MAC is a 2011 so it took forever to open I highly recommend

The touch bar is not that useful but the touchID on the Macbook is definition a good thing to have!

I have used Macbook Pro laptops exclusively for the past 10 years, mostly for doing freelance work from home. I needed a computer that was reliable and didn't require a lot of anti-virus fixes or updating or constant maintenance like the PC laptops and computers I've previously owned and worked with through employers. My 2010 Macbook Pro needed a new drive after 7 years of work and, once repaired, it functioned like new. I only purchased a new Macbook Pro so I'd have a backup computer, should my trusty old 2010 finally give out on me. Now both are serving my family well and I'm sure they will continue to do so for many years. Apple laptops cost more, but the time saved by not having to deal with bugs and viruses and updates makes up for it.

It was time to replace my old 2008 Macbook Pro, which I was keeping alive with SSD and Memory upgrades. This 2017 model is a nice improvement. I have not found myself using the touchbar yet, except for changing volume. So I don't see that as a reason to choose this model over last years. Note: BestBuy gave me a good price for my old laptop. Was a surprise considering the age of the laptop. This is an excellent alternative to eBay, etc.
