I am a 50 year old IT pro who also is into gaming, so up until now I have always rolled with a gaming laptop (Windows) - going back 20 years. As I have gotten older, I game less and less on the go, and I became sick of dealing with laptops that sound like a jet engine whenever you do anything remotely demanding. After reading about the success and excellence of the new Apple silicon, I decided to take the plunge into Mac-land, and I can honestly say I will never go back to a PC-based laptop again. With this MacBook, I can actually use it on my lap (gasp!) without blocking a fan or burning my legs. It barely gets warm. The screen is gorgeous, and the sound is unlike anything I have heard from a laptop. I have yet to hear the fans turn on either. It is dead silent. It does have some games that will run just fine on it, including one of my favorites - Rimworld. I also fired up some Divinity Original Sin II and that runs great as well. Battery life is also fantastic. I can use it casually for a couple of days before I need to charge it. I've seen some people say this is a little heavy for traveling, but I used to lug around a 15 lb (including power brick) gaming laptop so this thing is light as a feather by comparison, and it doesn't need to be plugged in all the time to do things. For those coming from PC, yes there is a learning curve, but it isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. All in all I have no regrets converting to MacOS and I see this MacBook Pro lasting for many years. It just blows away anything I have ever used and it is not even close.

This is one of the best Macs I have used and I have been an apple user for quite some time. It is a little heavier that the previous MacBooks.

This is the best computer I have EVER owned. Including pcs and laptops. This is a perfect computer for everyday use , but is also a great computer for programming. The M2 chips makes it so that compiling code , almost seems instant. The speakers sounds so nice and clear and also have quite a bit of bass to them, and the screen is BEAUTIFUL. This laptop is pretty heavy at about 5 lbs , BUT it is worth every penny if you need something that will last a very long time. Good job Apple. This laptop is very fast, and I’m referring to both processor and Wi-Fi speed, and the battery life is amazing. The screen display is impressive and the brightness is the best I’ve seen on a laptop, very helpful if you’re outside on a sunny day. The largest MacBook Pro does result in a heavier laptop, but I don’t travel as much as I used to. If I was a road warrior, I’d probably go with the smaller device.

My first Mac book and I love the device performance so far. Price is a bit on the higher side, weight is also bit higher than similar windows laptops, but the display and performance is good.

I love this Macbook Pro! Its been super fast, responsive, and when put under a heavy multi-tasking load it didnt slow down, hang-up, get hot, nor have I heard the fans kick on. The screen is bright and I love almost everything about it. I will admit, its a bit heavy but wont stop me from carrying it in my backpack on trips. The speakers are the best I've EVER heard in a laptop...you must check that out! Many YouTube reviewers usually recommend something else, but this usually because of cost, but its new so its to be expected. "This" is what "I" wanted, the newest, fastest, with the brightest 16.2" screen. Download Vivid and its even brighter and usually in direct sunlight. I highly recommend, it was worth the money.

extremely satisfied, have had air mac book 2014, dropped and broke the screen, had to buy new one, choice was MacBook pro 16. Fast charge, longer lasting, fast, but heavier than my previous one.

The laptop is a bit heavier than expected, but great product overall, very fast and convenient to use with Apple ecosystem.

I replaced a 2017 MacBook Pro with an Intel processor and a Touch Bar. I used the Touch Bar on a regular basis and thought that giving up this feature would prove difficult. After a couple of days, it was an easy adjustment. The new 2023 MacBook Pro is a little heavier and thicker, but well worth the upgrade.

Almost 6 pounds ... need I say more? I should have returned it the second I got it!
