If you're looking for a way to connect an external VGA screen to your MacBook, this is the easiest way to do it. We use it at our repair shop for mac users who come in with display issues. Good deal!

I love Apple and glad I made the switch years ago. However, I hate that you have to retro or custom fit everything to Apple unless you buy some of its peripherals. This item works as advertised but I wish you didn't have a big ole block so close to the end of the tail. Would love to be able to hide it while working. If asked whether or not I would recommend it to a friend I would tell them they have no other choice, you have to use the adapter on most monitors or choose third party provider's built to Apple's specs.

Have a laptop with mini hdmi and an older vga monitor. this product allows me to use the vga as an external monitor. no issues.

It works well with either Mac or Windows. Price was reasonable but not as cheap as I would like for this type of components.

We use this adapter in church. Very handy adapter. It connects from macbook air to our projector. Good for carry on.

In typical Apple fashion, no external VGA or HDMI port is part of the MacBook chassis. If you want to use a larger display or projector, you have no choice but to pony up the $$ and get one of these. Don't get me wrong, it works great and the display mirrored on my Asus 24" monitor is superb as with my Epson LED projector. But having had an original plastic MacBook, it gets annoying to have to buy this or that add on that even the most basic laptop PC's have as standard.

I purchased this adapter because I am in meetings throughout the day and many of our spaces only have vga connectivity. This works exactly as advertised!

This is a handy connection to use at locations that lack newer, digital connections. Simple and easy to use.

I decided to stick with the Apple version of the item since I have a Mac and didn't want any issues with an off brand. I have my laptop hooked up to a basic monitor I received for free. Having a dual monitor works great for me while going to school.

I looked at a lot of tvs, reviews and could not beat this tv for the price. Video set up was easy, audio was easy once I connected the sound bar - otherwise the stock speakers are small, but what can be expected? No major complaints. Very happy with it.

This is a great way to display what's one your iPad to a TV. Easy way to watch what you want in a hotel room - just bring this and an HDMI cable.

Bought this with my Mac Mini *****. Works as expected. SHould have been included with the Mac. Bought this instead of a knock off due to brand addiction. Like other Apple cables the wire jacketing has a great tactile feel but is fragile-so be even more careful not to abuse it. Expense, Not including with the Mac Mini, and short life design ius why I gave it 3 stars.

Having used a generic vga adapter (Dynex?) for my MacBook Pro in order to prepare for worship services at a church in Virginia, I was forced to buy a new adapter when it became clear that the adapter I had was failing (not displaying anything on projector). I bought the Apple branded one this time and despite the increase in cost, I found it more reliable.

The Apple brand adapter is the only way to go. With other 3rd prty adapters and OS X 10.8 & 10.9 there are mystery freezes or unresponsive trackpads until the adapter is unplugged and computer restarted, no worries with this adapter

Worked as intended but returned it as a DVI cable worked better with the monitor I purchased.
