Is ok and I have a second monitor but the resolution is not great

I'm using this product very frequently and haven't had any issues yet.

I bought the Apple version but found this off-brand to be a better deal, and it worked just fine.

I have an older Acer monitor and purchased a new MacBook Pro. Of course the ports are all different so I had to get either a new connector or a new monitor.

This adapter is from Apple and is not a 3rd party adapter so it is guaranteed to work in a Mini DisplayPort adapter. There are cheaper options out there, but this one is going to work no questions asked.

I decided to buy a genuine Apple adapter, because the rewievs for non-Apple ones were mixed. Basically people said that with a generic adapter it was a gamble: it may work perfect for long time or it may break in a couple of days. It's been a month since I purchased the one from Apple, so far it is perfect. Minus one star because of its price

Like most Apple products - you pay a premium for the quality.

Its an apple oem product which means it has no problem support apple devices. That doesn't stop it from being more expensive than the rest. Other than that, no complaints. Does what it says it does.
