    Really it's hard to live without this adapter and the new MacBook which has no ports except the one. You can transition slowly because mostly things these days are transferred online via Dropbox, email, iTunes etc. I had to buy one just for my printer because unfortunately wifi is not yet strong enough to be reliable. Someday in the future having no ports will be seem less but we are still working towards that.
