Works great and easy setup. Xfinity phone service works excellent, and our internet even seems faster and connects better too! We shopped around and this was a better modem for a better price than competitors. Quick shipping and packaged well. You have to register the modem with Xfinity but that’s with all of them. The person I connected with helped a lot. Xfinity phone service with this modem sounds just as good as landline, NO delay. And the Xfinity phone service costs a fraction of what the landline companies charge!!! Thank you Best Buy for the excellent modem!

Works great! Pairing this with a Netgear Orbi RBR50 mesh system, with Comcast 600Mbps internet. Upon using the Netgear app to test my speeds I once got a 617 down/7 up. Testing with Speed Test I got a similar number. Setup was simple to get rid of the $15 rental fee. I just unplugged the XF modem/router, plugged in the Arris via LAN to my laptop, and when trying to connect via Firefox it detected the new modem and started the setup. After about 15 min it detected the phone line of service and I was online! Easy! Didn't even need to call their customer service*** ***Do not use the XF app to on Android or iOS. I can't recommend it. It's ability to set up my modem required very specific criteria: first, I needed to have a a modem and router setup prior to changing the old modem for the new one. Then, without disconnecting the router, I would need to switch out the XF modem with the new one then try connecting to the network again. The app would then work, saying I would need to set up my new modem with XF. BUT, if don't want to set it up with a new wireless system (like I did this time), there's no way you can use the app to setup just the modem since there's no active wireless system available to connect to. And while I was on caller support they kept advertising the app, but not providing ample solutions to trying to connect me to the internet. Besides that, modem is working great! Save yourself $180 a year and setup a 3rd party modem.

Super easy to set up and works well. I did have to chat with Xfinity to get it to work, but 10 minutes later we were back online. It does have a large footprint, but we made it work. Doesn't seem to run as hot as my last Arris modem.

Nice to get out of renting one from ComunisCast but now I always have a voice mail signal. I guess you can never get away from the grips of them. The unit performs as advertised. No more rental charges but only works with "Comcast"

Getting faster speeds than what Comcast advertized

I previously owned a similar ARRIS cable modem TM822G, which served me very well for 4+ years and saved me lots of modem rental fees. While it still performed well, I realized that I was not taking advantage of the speedier internet subscription speeds I had with Comcast. I needed a new modem, specifically with VOIP, but I did not want a built in wifi router since i wanted to set up my own mesh network. Found this at a good price at Amazon, and Best Buy easily matched it. I don't think set up is difficult, but it's not self service with Comcast. You do need to call in and provide the MAC address to the service rep - this part took me 3 hours - because of the quality of the Comcast service rep and their process. They managed to type in the MAC address incorrectly twice, and was unable to correct it. They kept passing on to other reps to figure out how to delete a saved MAC address. One rep even said I should return the device and get a new one to key in a new MAC address!! Finally after 2.5 hours, I found a service rep who knew how to correct MAC addresses, and I was up and running in 20 mins.

Power cord missing in a brand new box

I ordered this for my daughter moving back to an apartment near campus for the new school year. I found the power cord missing when I open the brand new box so I cannot install the cable modem. Fortunately, I live not too far from campus and brought another cable from home the next day. I contacted Arris support and tried to get a replacement cord but they offered no help at all. So the packaging error and the poor support are the main reason for the 2 stars. I could return this to store but I cannot exchange for another one as it is only available online. The set up is easy though once you have it connected to a router and has a device connected to it. Within 15 minutes after plugging it in, it is up and running using Xfinity. Of course, you need to have the service set up ahead of time first. The performance is okay for the 200Mbps service we choose. It has two voice ports if you want a land line, however, there are cheaper VOIP options. This modem is pretty bulky (but very light). It doubles the size of SB8200 that I use at home.

Set up was easy IF you really follow all the directions. I watched a YouTube video for this exact model (SBV3202) which was MORE helpful than the written quick start guide. I connected the Ethernet cable directly from modem to laptop for the setup. I had to wait 10 to 15 minutes for all the lights to become solid before completing the setup on the laptop. (If I remember correctly the Tel 1 light never came on solid until after the entire setup was complete). I never had to call Xfinity. Remote Laptop activation worked perfectly. Once finished, Tel 1 light came on. I then Connected Ethernet cable from modem to my wireless router. Since then the modem has been functioning perfectly with no interruptions. Happy to be saving modem rental fee. Hoping this modem functions well for a long time.

I scored this at a great price and it works. However, be forewarned that ComCast has to manually enter the MAC #s into their system. This caused some confusion and took some time. ComCast's fault, not Arris'. Of course now, I think I need a better router

Was simple to setup and seemed to be faster than the rental modem that they supplied. This one doesn't have the router built in, but I went with Mesh WiFi anyways so I just wanted a modem for the internet and the telephone.

Even though it is not listed in Cox website, I was still able to use it. However- you cannot use the phone ports on this. You have to use a superset modem for your cox phone line. Had I known that I would of got the model that is just the modem and not modem with phone port. Either way it works amazing. Went from 35mbps with Cox modem/router to now 130mbps. I also updated router to netgear nighthawk.

I wanted to replace the modem I was renting from Comcast. I received guidance from a Best Buy IHA who recommended this particular modem. Because I have phone service from Comcast I needed one that had a phone jack. Set up was easy and the performance has been excellent. It will pay for itself in under 8 months.

This Arris Surfboard, if you're happy with Comcast (Xfinity) as your ISP & phone service supplier, works fine. I've had no issues since getting connected. This will be cheaper, in the long run, than renting from Comcast. As you may know, some have had initial trouble getting connected; I did also, but if you visit a Comcast store with your new modem (I did), it will be a smoother, easier procedure. I still had to call (from my cell phone) Comcast's customer service, but it did not take long to complete.

I bought the SURFboard 32 x 8 Docsis 3.0 Voice Cable Modem after being told by Suddenlink that it would be the modem that I would need to access their internet and phone services. Turns out, it works great for their internet service but their phone system requires their own modem. It will work with Xfinity Internet and voice systems. I paired it with a Netgear wireless router and couldn't be more happy with the speed of the system.
