Great game and scenery. A new saga to the Assasins creed games in a different time and setting is great. Reasons why I love these games!

Best in the series game would've been better if they dropped the assassins creed bit and just made a full on Viking rpg still though they captured the time period and atmosphere great love duel welding axes only weird thing is no one handed swords they have two handed great swords and daggers, seaxs, but no long swords the player can use only npcs seem to have one handed swords

Everything receives a bit of an overhaul in the latest entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise and the results are excellent. The story, the combat, the skill tree, and the variety of weapons all shine in Valhalla. And with a next-gen console it looks more gorgeous than ever before.

I've been playing Assassin's Creed since the very first one back in 2007. I'm a big fan of the series and have very enjoyed almost all of them. This one however, for the first time felt a bit different than some of the previous titles and have to say so far, I couldn't be happier with the story, characters, and gameplay. I would say that this A.C. is currently in my top 3 from the series. It's a must have for any A.C. fan, and a great place for ANY gamer to jump into the series. Great looking SteelBook as well!

Hands down the best AC to date. The story is amazing, the setting is stunning and the combat is brutal and bloody. What more can you ask for from a tried and true series...

Review 60 hours in - Very Solid Story and Combat

When I first started the game, I was a bit over-critical about how easy it was starting out. Only realizing it followed suit for all versions of AC. It wants to prepare for the upcoming challenge. If you try and blaze through this game, you will be punished as the enemy AI difficulty increases drastically. The story was a extremely slow at first, but after the games first chapter, it quickly turns into a solid storyline where you try and gain alliances with surrouding regions. This game has done away with the "3000+" pieces of gear you could collect in Odyssey. It's a welcome change that really focuses on locating materials needed for upgrading of said equipment. This game also rewards you for raiding settlements to collect materials necessary to upgrade your region by building stores, farms, barracks, and other areas of interest. The only "two" set backs in this game are glitches and bugs, and enemy AI is lackluster at times. The glitches can cause your Xbox to halt and or reboot. My advice is save often, and be mindful the game only allows for "20" save slots. The other major issue is enemy AI in this game is pathetic at times. You will be fighting a group of 4 enemies and one will die. On multiple instances, I had enemies in the group I was fighting check on the dead one. Making them easy slaughter material for my weapon. Other times you will just walk right past enemies that are looking for you and don't see a guy with a HUGE 2 handed axe within a stones throw distance. If you can get past these minor hiuccups, you will enjoy this title. If you're a fan at all of the AC series or like adventure type games with a vast world to explore, this game is definitely right up your alley.

I've put a little less than 20 hours into this game so far, and it looks like it COULD be one of the best installments in the series. However, this game suffers from several technical and mechanical problems. I experience screen tearing very often in cutscenes and the overworld sometimes, and there are other minor bugs that appear every now and then that just cause annoyance. Some things have been made less fluid than in previous installations too, such as the shop system. Also, Ubisoft addressed a single outcry over the use of the word "disfigured" to describe a burned man before it bothered to acknowledge any of the gamebreaking bugs that appeared in the first week. Other than that, the setting, story, features, and action of Valhalla are miles ahead of almost every AC game.

Been playing the AC series since day one and this is an awesome addition and playing as a Viking gives you a different experience. From hunting, being hidden, even assassinations, highly recommend forums will suggest it’s very glitchy but I actually haven’t ran into that problem myself. Ay style is a little different from Others at the beginning but once you get through the tutorial it’s full open world

I've been a fan of Assassin's Creed since the very first game and have played almost every release. I personally enjoyed the change of the series into an RPG and Valhalla is no exception. A fantastic story, great voice acting, engaging world and characters, and no side quest grinding. If you are an Assassins Creed fan, this is definitely worth your time. Looks great on the Series X too.

I’ve been playing Assassin’s Creed since the original came out back in 2007. Obviously, for longtime fans, Assassin’s Creed has changed tremendously over the years. With Valhalla, I have only begun to scratch the surface of this game. I’m about 15 hours in, and there’s so much content here to dive into, you’d be hard pressed not to find something to do in the game. It is better than the previous entry, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, in the sense that it doesn’t overwhelm you with a million different icons on your map (random things to do and whatnot). Instead, Valhalla is a lot less cluttered, and allows you to enjoy the game at your own pace and interact however much/little you choose to with the world. Want to just play the story missions? Go ahead. Do you want to complete every little side mission and level up to max rank, unlocking all kinds of cool gear and upgrades? The choice is all yours. On the Xbox Series X, it performs very well. Graphics are rich and detailed, and the frames are buttery smooth. I also really like the effects from the Northern Lights in the Norway section of the game. The ray-tracing capability of the Series X makes lighting look incredible in this game. If you’re just looking for a game to be wowed by the next-gen consoles, I’d very much recommend this one.

Last Assassin's Creed I owned was Black Flag and it was amazing, haven't been gaming as much because of work but was lucky enough to get a Series X on launch day and glad I gave Valhalla a go. The graphic, game play, layout, everything is just amazing. Definitely tons of fun

Fantastic, if you are an Assassins Creed fan, you will not be disappointed with this new installment. You can play either male or female or let the animus choose for you. Also a good, at least as far as I have gotten, continuation of Layla's story. A must for the series fan.

Excellent entry into the new assassins creed series. Has many similar elements to the previous 2 titles that have been slightly tweaked. Runs great on both my one x and series x. Graphics are phenomenal and story is fluid allowing you to chose where you will go next

This has honestly been one of the best Assassins' Creed games in the recent trilogy. There is a lot more enfaces on combat and story then in most Assassins' Creed games but honestly it fits the theme perfectly. I mean it's Assassins and Viking. What more do you need?

It was really cool to see Desmond in this one again. I thought it was a great surprise when Eivor died in the intro and you got to play as Ezio again for the rest of the game. 11/10 thumbs up.
