TIRED OF WIRED? PROS: (WORKS WITH PS5!) I was too, my original astro a10s were fine, but my cat kept on bitting the wire and I'd bought 4 replacement cords until I decided to get the astro a50. First of really comfortable the ear cups swivel and can be extended to a considerable length, I have a big head and low ears and wore my a10s on max length the a50s have even more length. The foam ear cushions really comfortable and are easily removable for cleaning as they are magnetic and can be replaced with new ones. The base station works with ps5, ps4, Mac, and pc just trough usb although you can an optical cable its a lot easier just to switch between USB as the quality of sound is still the best I've tried so far. The wireless frequency is on a 2.4ghz frequency which means that this headset can reach up to 30 feet of range before it starts slightly cutting audio. Battery life last I'd say at least 12 hours before being charged. You can charge it while using it because it accepts micro usb straight into the headset but it gets a little hot. You can change between game and chat audio in the play station settings but on the side panel it easier to adjust during a game. The max volume is really loud. Flip to mute is really good so you don't have to fiddle with a wire. turns off automatically when put down and not moving. CONS: Its $300!+tax Its hard to lay down with this headset as the buttons on the back can be pressed easily, and the headset can be pushed very easily as the headset is considerably big, but no heavy. When placing down to charge its a little tricky because the magnets can suck the headset into the wrong place and not be charging. You can place the headset better yourself which is something you have to learn because at first I was letting it charge and I didn't place it right the lights wire flashing but the wrong way and I had to adjust it after 30 mins of not charging I tried using it just to find out its not charged. it takes about an hour to be charged from 0-100. It will not charge on the ps5 when its off even in rest mode which is a little annoying because I have to switch it to my Mac to charge overnight. I have lengthy curly hair and sometime the hair gets caught in the magnetic ear cushion or top head rest that is also replaceable.

A50 Gen 4 Gaming Headset is pretty good

Pros: - Comfortable - Decent frame - 2 Options to charge the headset, w/ Micro USB or Base Station - Equalizer customisation +Advanced Settings - Dolby Atmos Compatible - Gaming and Music Audio is pretty good and loud - Microphone sounds good + Good Noise Gate options - Decent Directional Accuracy - Convenient Microphone switch (Flip up turns off, Flip down turns on) - Buttons on headset you can change between Dolby or PC and saved Equalizer options you have setup or using preset - Wireless + Decent Range away from base station - Good Bass Cons: - No Bluetooth connectivity, if you want to use it, you'll need the base station in order to use the headset. - Gets warm around the ears when used during very long hours - Prefer a button just to mute the microphone over flipping it up or down - Little bit heavy - Some games you may not be able to hear other players but they can hear you. (I only had this issue w/ Destiny 2. Haven't tried other MP games yet.) (VERY IMPORTANT) There are two versions of ACC(Astro Command Center) one in the Microsoft Store and one on the website. For me, I had to use the one from the website, as the Microsoft Store version wasn't able to pick up my headset at all. I went through the process of resetting it and whatnot. So I would test using the one from the website before using the Microsoft Store. Also do follow the steps from the video. I wish there was a button so you can just mute/unmute the microphone, but I guess flipping is more of a convenient sake. And able to use the headset via Bluetooth. Overall, I quite enjoy the headsets as they do satisfy my needs and wants for gaming and music listening. Also the clear and good quality sounding of a microphone they have, its probably not the best. But in terms for headsets, this is pretty good. The program is easy to use and navigate.

    Astro a50 vs Steel Series

I mean I’ve been told these are the best in the game. And they are , I’ve had Turtle Beaches and even still have a pair Steel Series for the Xbox one. The 200 dollar ones. The only downfall is the lack of Bluetooth, coming from Steel Series and being able to answer phone calls, listen to music, and talk online was an extreme PRO for the Arctic Steel Series. Astro’s will always put a hole in your pocket and it’s only worth it if they live up to their hype. Which they do, the facts I can walk to my car and still talk to my friends in the party chat had me bragging about Astro’s for a week straight. Compared to the Steel Series, huge improvement. Sound quality is spectacular, as well as battery life. I haven’t killed them yet, so I’m unclear on how long it takes to fully charge them though I read it’s very quick. I do have a little dance while trying to put them on the charging dock, it could get tricky honestly. Besides that my ears never hurt after long periods of gaming, plenty of space in the cup. They pick up everything and nothing at the same time. What I mean is if you move your head too fast your mic will pick up the movement. My squad plays search, so when it’s time be quiet and then you hear my dumb self making sound in the background because I’m trying to pick something up you hear all of it. But when I’m speaking it’s in and out. Take your time to adjust the threshold for your mic!! But I would suggest buying if you have the money to invest. If you don’t, go for Steel Series, deal with the fact that you can’t be more than 10 feet away from your Xbox for 200 and you’ll be happy. Oh also, finding a place to put those Astro’s was a pain. The optical chord was extremely short. It basically needs to be right next to the console. I have it behind my tv. Peep pics.

Great headset with a terrible design flaw

This headset checks every box I required for a gaming headset. Wireless, base station charging, and ease of use with the program on Windows. I'm coming from a pair of wired AKG headphones that was plugged into an amplifier, so for me the sound quality of these is not as good as it was with the AKGs. But it is more than good enough for gaming and music, with the main added benefit being the convenience of wireless. The base station works flawlessly, and it never fails to charge. Easy enough to plug into the computer and Windows recognizes the headset right away. Installing the Astro Command Center was a breeze and the options and features are more than enough for what the headset can do. The reason I'm giving this 3 stars is because of the most egregious design flaw of any product I've owned: The headband. After 6 months of use, the small foam cushion inbetween the two plastic headbands refuses to stay in. It is only held in with two small plastic notches, and no matter how I adjust the headset, it constantly pops out all on its own and causes the plastic headband to dig into my skull until I take my hands off of everything and fix it. And as soon as I take my hands off the headband it pops right off again. You could say "simple solution, just glue it in place". However, if I ever planned to sell this headset, that piece would not be removable anymore and would degrade the resell value. Not to mention this headset cost $400 when it came out. I bought it on a promotion from Best Buy for $300. It frequently goes on sale for $150 if you know where to look. I don't feel that I should have to glue things in place on a headset that MSRP'd for $400 when brand new. I'm past the return window and Logitech wants 6 weeks to sent me a refurbished replacement, so no thanks. I wouldn't even pay $150 now knowing how bad this design flaw is. I'll either sell them for cheap and invest in something else or go back to my AKG headphones. Great overall and awesome when I'm not being impaled by sharp plastic. Unfortunately it happens more often than not.

This headset is pretty great. If you have a lot of money then no big deal you will get a great headset for a terrible price. This headset is about $200 too much. If you want a headset that is better all around the turtle beach elite pro2 (it’s not wireless but one small wire you don’t even notice it) even the non super amp version for $130 is amazing sound quality and built with more premium materials. It’s also very confusing to get started using there is a lot of software and buttons. The firmware needs updated immediately as well. not a bad headset though. If this was $99 I would give it 5 stars because for being wireless and decent quality as well as the base this is actually why I bought it because the ease of just docking it and charging it. Pros: -Sounds good (not as great as I thought it would though for the price) -Charging dock/base is convenient -Comfortable -Mic sounds decent Cons: -Overpriced for the materials you get -Ear-cuffs aren’t bad but they feel cheap and after about 7 hrs my ears were starting to get sore. -Have to update firmware immediately through Command Center (their software) sometimes the 2019 app won’t work and you have to download the 2015 version. Program and update it first before using the app and updating again (very inconvenient for $300 shouldn’t have to do anything) -sound quality is good but average not one special thing about it. Conclusion: if you buy this you aren’t making a mistake it’s a good headset. For the money I would not recommend it and advise looking into other options Corsair void is $75 I think and this is on par with that. Unfortunately since they are a sponsor in MLG kids think it’s the best thing you can buy but it’s really not. Solid 3 star headset by me.

I usually read other reviews before I post mines just to see if I can relate to any issues or compliments made by other customers. However, not with this item. I am beyond satisfied!!!! If you are a gamer, or are really looking for a great headset for your computer needs, this is it!!!!! The sound quality is the best I’ve experienced yet. I climbed the ladder within the Astro family so I been through them all. These sound like you’re sitting in front of a Bose surround sound system. They are super comfortable and the charging station makes Everything this look clean, fun, and professional. Only this I don’t like is the head set can only charge if you place the Head set properly, meaning there is a left and a right side and it won’t charge if you place it the opposite way, not sure why, but the quality of everything else takes up for that. I know these will last long. I still have my a40’s. I recommend that when you make a purchase, add the protection plan on anything expensive you purchase. BEST BUY has hands down THEE BEST PROTECTION PLANS!! It’s hassle free and super easy if you ever come across a problem. I’m only mentioning their protection plan because yes this is a hefty price, but at least you know your purchase is in good hands should an accident or rare malfunction occur. So far my husband and I have never had an issue with it. If you’re still debating, just give the headset a try. They have a great return policy as well, but I’m sure after using these you won’t want to return.

About six years ago, I purchased the Astro A40 with the mix amp and absolutely loved them. Then recently, I tried the Turtle Beach Stealth 700s and did not love them. So, I decided to get myself the Astro A50s and love them. They're extremely comfortable, even though after a couple of hours they can get a little heavy on your head. The dock system is amazing and extremely easy when it comes to setting it up. It took me less than 10 minutes to set up the headset. The battery life, ear cups, sound quality are all amazing as well. The mic is quite sensitive (which can be adjusted in the settings in the Astro Command Center, the software for the headsets) although I love that because my Turtle Beach Stealth 700s mic was not as sensitive and did not always pick up my voice. Also, the mic flips up and locks in place to automatically mute the mic which I find to be very easy. I have always been an Astro user and will continue to be after buying these. There are only three cons that aren't too big of an issue for me but are worth mentioning. Cons: - no Bluetooth connectivity - can get heavy on your head over an extensive period of time - if flipping up the mic to mute it bothers you then this would be considered a con Pros: - extremely comfortable earcups and headband - the Dolby speaker quality is incredible and can change easily - the quality of them is worth the price - the setup process is quick and extremely easy - they work with my MacBook pro - the design is sleek

I’ve had my share of headphones and these are one of the best. They have great sound, lots of features, very comfortable to wear, and the base station is super convenient. I have the Razor Nari for my PC; 5 stars as well, I love the rumble feature for them it really offers a immersive feeling which these don’t have. I also have owned the Rigs lx800 another 5 stars great headphones sound is just as great, but with no base station. I bought these along with my LG C1 77” and Series X the only cons is no rumble feature like my Razer headset and how expensive they were compared to the Rigs.

I have used tons of headsets over the years, none as expensive as this one. However, much like going from a Ford Focus to a corvette, you’ll notice the difference ones you get them in your hands. Placing them on your head is comfort alone, the sound is crisp and exact, incredibly helpful when your listening for players footsteps. Battery life is exceptional and the microphone picks up everything…with that being said I had to adjust the filters on the mic because it picked up too much and I needed to adjust it for my stream and in game as well. Overall, wonderful product!

I have used many headsets including Turtle beach, Sony platinum, Sony 3D Pulse and this headset blows them all out of the water! The build quality stands high above the rest. The price is higher as well, but you pay for what you get. With the Astro A-50’s there is no squeaky or loose sounding parts even if you shake them hard. I cannot say that for any other heads up that I have owned or own still. The spatial audio, and highly customizable sound profiles that you can map to the headset via your PC is outstanding. I’ve never been able to hear approaching footsteps as clearly or as early with any other headset. The headset fits nicely on my head and does not squeeze in give me a headache like many, or rather most, other headsets do. The fact that I can simply flip up the microphone to mute the chat is a stand out feature as well. No more guessing if I’m muted or not. Another big reason I purchased their headset is the charging base. It works for both my PS5, PS4 and my Alienware laptop. I only have to flip a switch on the back of the docking station. One of the most annoying things about headset is often the battery life. Not only is the battery life fantastic on his headset but every time I take it off and put it on the docking station at the end of a gaming session it starts to charge right away. Over the two months that I’ve been using this headset I’ve only found myself twice needing to charge it and use a separate headset while it regains battery charge (And both of those were very, very long gaming sessions- like 12 hours - in the previous night I had put my laptop to sleep and so the headset was not charging). I couldn’t recommend this more. If you don’t own one now go get yourself one! You will not regret it.

Great sound/speakers they are amazing in that regard. Best sounding gaming headset I have ever used. Base station is awesome just drop them and theyre charged the next time you wanna play. However the headset I purchased had a faulty clip on the top and would pop out everytime i put them on. Hopefully an uncommon problem cause its pretty uncomfortable without the foam piece that sits on the too of your head. It clips in/ is suppose to be changeable and im assuming the clips were faulty. Other than that a great headset

I'm definitely a guy who spends a lot of money on head sets. I game a lot, and I have a house full of kids who go to bed early. I need to wear a headset to game, and I typically game for a few hours a night. I have a pretty big head, and finding a headset that is both very comfortable (for long sessions) with GREAT sound has been a task. This headset knocks it all out of the park. I can confidently say this is the best headset I ever owned. It's extremely comfortable, feels the price and when you hear the sound it will blow you away. I game primarily on a PS5, and with the adapter, the Dolby Surround Sound is legitimately so realistic I jump from ambient sounds on Call of Duty. I highly recommend this headset. Is it pricy? Yes, but if gaming is your hobby/passion we really don't see a price tag. This price tag is worth every single penny.

I was very excited to get this headset. I had heard nothing but great things. After using this headset only twice, the top headband of the headset has started popping out. It's very frustrating to be playing a game and have it just pop out. I have yet to actually glue it down, but if the issue persists, that will be the solution. Other than that, it's a great headset! The sound quality is great! I've always loved Astro gaming headsets.
