    Upgrade PCIe SSD

I have been very satisfied with this desktop. Am using it primarily for VR gaming and Unity development, and absolutely no issues with setup, installation and runtime on either. My only disappointment about the configuration has been the limited space on the PCIe SSD. Most of you reading this probably already know the secret to how easy it is to upgrade, but finding out this secret was not so simple for me. So for those handful of people who may be having similar issues, here is the secret. The PCIe ssds do not sit directly on the motherboard. Next to the 2 memory modules is an armour looking device which is actually an ROG-exclusive DIMM.2 module which holds two M.2 SSDs. If you take it out of the motherboard (you should push the release catch to be able to pull it out) and remove the heat sinks on each side, you will see the ssd that came with the pc on one side and an open slot for an additional ssd. (There is not a screw to secure the new ssd to the module, so you're on your own there. I was told it's a standard m.2 screw, which can be ordered from Amazon.) This configuration allows 2 identical ssds to be paired as a RAID, but I installed a 1TB ssd, which was recognized by the PC as an extra drive. This is the card I installed: Samsung - 970 EVO Plus 1TB Internal PCI Express 3.0 x4 (NVMe) Solid State Drive with V-NAND Technology The BIOS recognized the card automatically, but it had to be formatted for Windows to list it as a drive. Super easy. Hope this helps someone who might be confused about upgrade options. There are also a couple of easy 2.5" SATA options.

This is my second ASUS desktop. Got it on sale for 1599$. So far it has been a great gaming rig. Plays Red dead with mostly maxed out settings at 1440P at 60FPS. the blower style GPU can get loud but so far that is the only complaint. Very happy with Purchase.

Bought this for my husband who LOVES playing Destiny and he says he'll never play on a gaming console ever again. The graphics are just amazing compared to anything else he's ever played on. Super satisfied with this purchase.

Would like to give it 5 stars but I am a little disappointed by the way the clear cover fits on the case. There is a 1/4 inch gap open all the way around it. It does not fit snug like the metal panel. I'm also seeing only 1 m.2 ssd slot on the motherboard when all the literature online say there are 2. The final disappointment is the keyboard. It must be the cheapest made thing available. When you spend $1599 on a PC a nice keyboard should be a no brainer. Other than those things it works and runs great.

I luckily got this when it was on sale for $1,499 so the deal was insane I literally saw it online then had it reserved at a store an hour away. It is a lot smaller than I was expecting (didn't check dimensions before I bought it) but it does its job really well. I can play just about every game on "high" graphics and get over 100 fps with "ultra" being the next highest graphics setting. Yes it will run Mine craft but don't quote me. For being a pretty big gamer, I'd say this is perfect for me. I paired it with an ASUS 144hz curved monitor and it puts my PS4 Pro to shame. Be honest with yourself, you always wanted that 2080 ti but trust the process, your wallet will appreciate it.

I was upgrading from a pretty outdated system but calling it an upgrade is an understatement. This system plays every game on ultra graphics with minimal to no load time. This setup will last 10 years easy with the graphics card that came in it!!!

I will say that this pc is great to buy during Black Friday because of the amount of power that goes into this of only 1700 bucks... It's almost a steal. But if you want the true gaming experience, then you should invest in a different keyboard and mouse because the once that are provided to you are pretty bad for gaming use unless you are only using the pc for editing or videos.

For the price, you get quite a bit. I’ve had this PC for over a year now and it gets the job done. Cooling could also be better with more than just an exhaust fan.
