I am replacing a ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 GU603 (Core i7) with this GU605 (Core Ultra 9). The GU605 is a high-performing laptop that tows the line between portable gaming workhorse and desktop replacement. It’s built with enough processing muscle and graphics capability to handle gaming, live streaming and most office workloads, all within a relatively slim form factor. For gaming, the system’s Intel Core Ultra 9 processor and NVIDIA RTX 5070 GPU has shred anything I've thrown at it to date. The usual suspects are present like 240Hz OLED screen to reduce motion blur and input lag. G-Sync to smooth out frame rates, and the display’s vivid color and contrast add to the visual experience whether in shooters or fast paced racing games. Running Call of Duty: MWIII the G16 GU605 can push well over 100 FPS at 1080p with ultra settings, and comfortably holds 70–90 FPS at the native 2.5K resolution using frame generation. Forza Horizon 5 also runs beautifully, with frame rates consistently above 100 FPS at high to ultra settings, thanks to the RTX5070 and 240Hz OLED. G-Sync support makes fast-paced shooters and racers feel incredibly fluid. Thermal performance remains stable under load, though the chassis can get warm and fans audible in Turbo mode but that should be almost expected for a slim gaming rig like the G16 GU605. The graphical prowess also makes the G16 GU605 a solid option for editing, design, and other visual work. 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and fast 1TB SSD storage (expandable with an additional M.2 slot, this system handles large files and multitasking with ease, though the RAM is soldered and not upgradeable so I'll be stuck with 16GB of RAM. The G16 GU605 runs demanding software alongside games without major frame drops. The IR webcam supports facial recognition login but I do miss the fingerprint powere button sensor of my previous G16 GU603. As long as the back drop isn't too bright the IR webcam has been fast and consistant. Port selection allows for easy connection to streaming gear like cameras, external monitors and most other peripherals you may need on a day to day. While not as lightweight as an ultrabook or even my wife's Surface Laptop, the G16 is portable enough for regular travel, and its build quality holds up to the mobile life. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this new G16 to anyone who is looking to spend more for a portal desktop replacement device that can reliably support gaming, productivity work and even streaming.

Laptop is great for gaming and school. I got rid of my desktop to be more mobile. Would recommend to anyone wanting a gaming laptop on the go. Just please buy a case

Really well rounded laptop can handle most games no issues at all

Plays pretty much anything you throw at it. You might have to adjust some settings in game but overall great laptop.

The sleekest gaming laptop I’ve ever seen. It’s the windows laptop you want for gaming and productivity. It’s pricy but worth it if that’s what you’re looking for.

Quality is not worth th eprice. For nearly 2000$ the material they give is not worthy. The body doesn't give you premium feel

I am absolutely blown away by what Asus has come out here with. All the components they selected to compliment the Intel and Nvidia hardware inside is great. The CPU is Fast. Browsing the Web and loading into games is very quick and snappy. Loading into games is more a kudos to the NVME that is being used but still the CPU has no problem getting the most out of the NVME. Video games play smooth. The fans are a bit loud but considering the thinner chasse that these components have been placed in I get it. Like All gaming laptops. They get hot when under load. I absolutely love the screen that they provide. Colors are bright. High refresh rate is crisp and clean. I don't see any ghosting or tearing of frames. For FPS performance I am very happy. It does not matter the game you throw at it. You will be able to enjoy 60FPS in 1440P. You might be able to get some 4K performance out of it if you have a 4k monitor to hook up to. I have not tried. I absolutely love the chasse design. I think ASUS knocked it out of the park. The laptop does not bend or twist when picking up or holding with one hand. This is definitely a gaming laptop, but something I would also feel comfortable in a work meeting using for notes or a presentation. I love it. and I would recommend it. Do your research. I am a huge gamer with lots of experience with high end hardware. For what this product is. I have 0 complaints. What you want in a laptop may vary. I think this hits all the spots for the majority of consumers who want a laptop that can play a modern PC games.

8gb vram not enough for modern titles, ultra 9 sucks price to performance, performance per watt

The NVIDIA RTX 5070 is a capable chip on paper, but thermals appear to limit performance under sustained load. In 3DMark Time Spy and Fire Strike tests, scores fall below what this GPU should theoretically deliver — likely a result of the thin chassis and conservative thermal design. * Frame Generation Masks Underpowered Raw Performance:
For modern graphically intensive games (like Cyberpunk 2077 or Alan Wake 2), native performance on high or ultra settings struggles without enabling DLSS 3 and frame generation. It’s playable — and even smooth — thanks to these technologies, but raw horsepower isn’t sufficient without them. * Pricey for the Specs:
