consider the price and 2.5 Gb network connection. This router has great value, plus if you are using the Asus router with AImesh, that is no brainer. You should go with this one. It will make the life in the house a lot eassier

Abysmal wifi performance. I installed in place of another Asus router and swapping back and forth gave 1/3 the speed of the old router. Wired performance is really good but I couldn’t deal with the rotten wireless. I would not recommend this yo anyone.

I should have listened to the other reviews. I thought enough time had passed so the bugs would be worked out but no. This router reboots constantly making it unusable and there is no fix currently.

Expensive and did not meet my needs. Could not get the AI mesh networking feature to work with my Comcast router to extend my network. I ended up going with Ubiquiti range extenders instead.

Great on paper but ended up returning it after it started dropping every wireless device every few days until you'd reboot it. Might've had bad luck, worked fine otherwise.

Do not buy. Reboots many times per day and Asus technical support is so worthless. They drag out bits of useless advice until it's too late to return for a refund or exchange.
We do understand your disappointment with the product and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing auto-reboot randomly. Having multiple devices connecting simultaneously will cause traffic congestion to any router and will generate excessive heat, and will cause an auto-reboot, regardless the manufacturer. Additionally, ensure the router is well ventilated to avoid overheating and a restart. The input port, i.e., the one from the ISP to the router was dead. I returned the router to Best Buy and purchased a different brand.

Asus still needs to work out all the bugs first

Hardware is nice and great for the money the problem is that the firmware at the moment is half baked and still has several bugs. For instance, I experienced this myself. I enabled all the features like Ai protection, QoS, apps analysis, Traffic Analyzer, MLO, and IPV6 enabled and I experienced random losses of network connectivity that lasted minutes before coming back. And that's not the only problem, just search other forums like the Amazon reviews, SNBForums, or even Asus's own Zentalk forums and there are plenty of other people like me who have random disconnects or CPU cores stuck at 100% and overheating errors.
While the latest update did mitigate a lot of these issues, it still isn't perfect. For instance, if I enabled all features like Ai protection, QoS, apps analysis, Traffic Analyzer, MLO, and IPV6, I get random connection drops but once I turned them all off, it seems relatively stable and others on the forums and reviews I mentioned also saw the same experience.
Now I don't doubt Asus will fix it eventually as my previous Asus router had bugs and glitches that were eventually fixed but it's disappointing to have a product released with this many bugs and glitches. In it's current state with all the bugs and such, I would wait it out until all these issues are fixed. I've reported the issues to Asus using the built in report tool and hopefully they get fixed but time will tell.
Again before purchasing, read all the 1 star Amazon reviews as well as people on SNBForums and the asus Zentalk forum to check if these bugs have been addressed then I would purchase it.

This was not a purchase I needed, but wanted. I have 3 Ax82u routers already and wanted a newer model for future needs. Setup was easy, and I added the older routers to this unit for AiMesh. I have one node (Ax82u) in my camper. 150 feet away from my house and get an "ok" signal that far away. Another node on the opposite side of my house with & "Great" signal. Since I have one extra node to use, I put the third node in my barn, about 50 feet away, slso with "Great" signal. All three of these nodes are wireless signal from the BE92U. The speed increase from my internet connection increased my download speed and upload speed. I use several Ring doorbells, smart TV's, laptops, desktops, smart thermostats, switches, outlets. (I am a Geek/Nerd). For a new wifi 7 Asus router, price was reasonable.

The rumors are true! I wanted to like this router but it's plagued with too many issues (straight from the factory). The firmware is flawed. The wifi randomly drops the connection. Changing your firmware to Merlin won't fix all the issues. The bug where the router would randomly forget your admin account and credentials made it impossible to log into the admin console without resetting it (or unless you've already enabled SSH which is for advanced users). That was the final straw. I lasted about a week with this router.
The feature sets are what makes this router attractive which is why I've always bought Asus routers. This one made me switch to TP-link. You loose a little on features but gain a lot in reliability. No more constant reboots. No more having to reset your router.
Best Buy should really pull the RT-BE92U router from their store until Asus fixes it.

The firmware update for this laptop model works without problem, ensure that you successfully update the firmware. To resolve the connection issue, place the router in the center of the area you want to cover, avoid placing the router near metal objects, electronic devices or direct sunlight, position the router on a flat, hard surface and halfway between the floor and ceiling. Additionally, dense building materials, such as gypsum, concrete walls and planks can affect Wi-Fi signal penetration. Additionally, check if the PC or device connecting to the router is working properly and within range to the router, the router is within 30 feet to the ISP's modem, if not wired with a network cable, and ISP's internet service or connection is working properly or stable. Legacy devices may not work properly with WIFI-6E or WIFI-7, check updates for these devices. Also, try connecting this manually to either 2.4GHz or 5GHz.
