    Bought this BRAND NEW. From day one this laptop came out of the box scratched up, and won’t function properly. The battery lasts an hour at most. It’s runs like an OLD laptop. DDE Windows Server error. Took this back to Hawthorne Best Buy THE DAY AFTER because it was obviously NOT NEW. Best Buy refused to exchange it. ASUS, even though it’s STILL under warranty says it’s Best Buy’s responsibility. No one will just exchange it for an even trade. I’m a storm chaser that issues tornado warnings all over the Midwest and the South and we NEED radar to run. It will not run on this. I’m stuck with an $800 laptop that hasn’t functioned since day one. Not satisfied AT ALL.

    Purchased online to pick up at the store. I purchased this as an open-box, excellent certified. Upon receipt, I checked the product and there were very obvious scratches all over the cover, the keyboard had food or something smeared on the keys, and also on the back. Screen was full of dust and fingerprints like someone just got finished eating Cheetos and watching... Who knows what. I ended up returning, I asked if this may have been mislabeled seeing that the description for this laptop which was classified and priced at a category called open box excellent certified, and specifically says "Products in this condition look brand new - with no physical flaws, scratches or scuffs. I was told by someone else that walked up that every open box is used and will have scratches, which is not the truth, at all. This is why Best Buy has separate categories that lost the level of quality at which they're priced. They had nothing comparable in the store, within 1 hour I was able to purchase a newer model of this same brand. I have purchased many things from here and this was a horrible experience, from the misleading description, to the manager or whoever she was that wouldn't even think about looking into pricing this as a used item, since it was definitely used, not just an open box item.

    If i could give zero, i would. This pc ships with a hard drive that isnt optimized for windows, let alone windows 11. Its a 6gb/s hdd with ZERO disk transfer at most times because of this issue. Returning it immediately. Do not buy. This machine shouldnt ship with the components and os listed. They are imcompatible.

    The screen have such a bad resolution. I barely can see anything for how bad and light the picture it is like. Also we just start to use it and it is so slow for a brand new computer.

    1. Battery, even at power setting doesn't last more than 2 hours. 2. Sound is very low 3. Extremely slow to boot up. 4. Keyboard lettering is close in color to the keys, making them hard to identify. I could have survived with all the above, (1)kept it plugged in,(2) didn't purchase it to watch movies/listen to music/(3) patience is a virtue/(4) can touch type What really tipped it over into "worst laptop/pc purchase ever" is, Less than 4 months after purchase, keyboard became unresponsive. Updated Driver. Uninstalled/Reinstalled Driver, Reset to factory setting...still no keyboard function. I have spent more time attempting to solve the issues, than I have using the laptop (No exaggeration!). The only positive note is the screen is bright and large

    Super slow never buy from here again

    I just checked my purchase history and I couldn't believe that I bought this laptop two years ago: I feel like I'm using an eight years old dying laptop! Starting from about half a year or so after buying, the laptop is just getting slower and slower that every windows update becomesva struggle. Right now, every boot up takes 10-20min before the windows defender finishing its scan and the disk can finally go below 100% so I can actually do something. And in fact that I'm writing this review here, is becasue for the past two hours, I have been updating the windows (or forced to update), which keeps the disk at 100% so the laptop just freeze for hours. Even now after the update is conpleted, it takes 3 second for the window to show up when I click file explorer, Chrome takes 10s. The disk is a trap (HDD 5400rpm) and I regret to say that I fell for it. Who know if anything else would come up if I upgrade it to a sdd, thanks to the time when the laptop froze I already nail down a new laptop I want to buy from somewhere esle. Really hope you don't buy this one.

    The absolute worst laptop at any price. No amount of cheap can prepare for.how slow and unresponsive this laptop is out the box. It operates nothing like it does in the store once you take it home. Thats a demo mode their showing you in the store..this laptop is so bad it struggles doing in pic operations. Like if you try to open a window or a folder thays just info on the laptop at minimal it will be a 80 second wait. Its going to give you a not responding message and be stuck on that screen until you turn it off. There is no correcting itself on this laptop. Just to get on the home screen the sign in procedure lasts 2 minutes at its shortest and Im not exaggerating. I been waiting for it to sstart working again while I write this review and Im still waiting. Had to turn it off twice while I write the review. If you think you are doing yourself or your student a favor by shopping for a deal you will be sadly mistaken and highly disappointed in yourself. Especially if you read this review and still buy it. I believe nothing Asus is worth the money. And I live a good deal. But lessons must be learned and Asus is out to show why you dont bargain shop for certain items. Go head and get the nice one. Your peace and sanity are well worth it

    I bought this laptop due to the higher 12GB memory (many are 4 or 8) and 1TB storage. I believed with the higher memory, that the laptop would load with more ease and more quickly. Boy was I wrong! I believe this is the slowest laptop I've had in 20 years. Do not buy this laptop. Seriously, I should have worked on it more during my return period and now I'm stuck with it. I hate it! Truly hate it! I can't say one good thing about it. Ugh!

    I am not sure what the deal is with this laptop, but it has been a total disappointment. It takes a very long time to boot up, I'm talking 14k dial up slow! Its been that way since I bought it. I have always loved Asus, but this one is just.. I don't know. I have a 10 yr old one that runs faster. One would not expect this from a Gen i5.

    I usually do not rate items 1 star, but this one well deserved it. Would rate it 0 if I could. I love ASUS products and built my PCs using their parts, never had an issue. I bough this laptop 7 hours ago. Did not even get to sign into my email and it is already getting returned. For the TL;DR: Do not waste your time buying it. My 2011 G6 Pavilion running W7 on 4GB of RAM with i3 in it is faster than this laptop. Embarrassing. The initial start up took almost a hour before I could even log into this laptop. It comes preloaded with Windows 11. Not an OS for someone who knows how to operate a computer and has been doing so for many years on a professional level. Not a big deal, installed W10 hoping to relieve the slow problem. I also disabled a lot of bloatware services and MS Edge at the start up hoping to speed it up. Nope. Not happening. Can't even check my email at this point. Bought this just to do that in a fast, timely manner for my upcoming trip to Europe. Might as well just stick to my phone. I could not believe it. Even with a fresh OS, the boot time was horrible. Google Chrome would barely launch on this laptop. Just for craps and cackles I decided to open a YouTube video. The ad's audio played in the background while the screen was frozen black. That was the last try I gave this computer. I thought the other reviews were fake and underserving. Those people were right. The only reason I bought this was because it has a full keyboard (which in uncomfortable, also) and a large screen. ASUS products have always left me impressed, but apparently their laptops are to stay away from. Waste of time, gas, and money.

      This issue is temporary during the initial WINDOWS setup and before installing cumulative WINDOWS Update, regardless what brand name of computer this may be. This may take a longer time depending on the network traffic from the update server and the stability of your high-speed internet service. Also, laptop will do several system reboot, black screen temporarily or restart during the update process. Once initial setup and WINDOWS Update installation completed, system speed or performance will be optimized. Keeping Windows updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance. If these steps were already performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application. If this is not pre-installed on the laptop, please download the application at the Microsoft Store. For details on how to use "My ASUS", please go to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1041686/.     Since I bought this computer, it has given me many problems, it freezes, you can't download more than one or two programs because it becomes extremely slow, you have to delete absolutely everything, it is very slow to open applications or browse, it was really the worst purchase of my life.

    I expected too much from this laptop. It literally takes 10-15 min for it to peer own. It’s super slow to open up apps. It’s one of the worst buys I made. The size is great but the quality of the laptop sucks and it overheats so fast. I wouldn’t recommend save your money.

    unbelievably bad!!! do not buy! finally getting this computer going but it is extremely slow and unresponsive at times. this was purchased for use every so often in my side business. I did a restart with update to the system a day or two ago, when I started to work on it today it had to do another update which took probably 30+ minutes, still acting slow - so just did a restart - it is now supposedly doing another update and taking an extremely long time. This computer does not seem equipped internally to actually run simple programs. The battery life is bad as well - I had it plugged in for the last couple of days - when I unplugged it today it almost immediately dropped to around 65% battery life - how is that possible?

    I've had this laptop for just over a year now, not lookung for a warranty issue or anything like that, my issue is, it has always been slow, slow to start windows, slow to open programs, just slow. I purchased as a work pc, am retired and have had some health issues and over the last year had 4 surgeries so the laptop has not been used. The internet used with this laptop is from a iphone hotspot. When turning on today, took 20 minutes to start windows and got a popup stating needed to update windows, beeing it is so slow and with hotspot, I brought it home to use on Spectrum High speed internet and went to windows update, has been setting for over 2 hours with scrooling bar below Checking for updates window, DON'T BUY ASUS laptop !

    The worst laptop I have ever bought and owned. Even after deleting the unnecessary programs and not saving any documents on it, it still froze. Took forever to boot up and constantly having to restart it just to get it to work. The laptop was very heavy. Uses it less than a year. Should have just returned it when I had a chance.
