Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Vivobook's price, ease of use, ample RAM and storage, and lightweight design. However, many users cite concerns regarding the keyboard quality, particularly the key color and lack of backlighting, and report shorter than expected battery life. Slow boot times were also a common complaint. The large size of the laptop was mentioned as a drawback by some users.

Super fast, compact, over all great little unit for 2 years. I work from home and this laptop has been all over America with me running like a champ! 9/10 would recommend. After using it nearly daily for work, one day when I went to start it up I got the dreaded blue screen. After doing each of the suggested Google repair instructions, I gave up and took it to the Geek Squad. Long story short get total tech and just keep it. You will ALWAYS have something that needs an inevitable repair

Gave my laptop to my daughter for college so I needed a new one. This has lots of memory but runs kind of slow. It is very large and is not touch screen but overall is a good laptop. It is easy to use and set up but even though I have fiber internet it still runs slowly.

I purchased my 17in Asus Vivobook a couple of weeks ago last minute for work. I was traveling for work but I needed a wide screen. This laptop is perfect for that. I love that it is lightweight so easy to fit in my bookbag as a carryon. I also like having a 10-key pad. My only issue with this laptop is that the keyboard does not have backlight so it is hard to see your keys in dark or low lighting. The battery life is not as long as I would like so you do need to carry your charger but at least that is a reasonable size. Overall it's a great purchase and it's reasonably priced.

Its a good laptop my wife likes it. The keyboard is hard to see. The designers went with beauty instead of functionality. Get a silicone keyboard cover for 15.00. The hard drive is a bit slower compared to a ssd drive, but not a game changer for the average adult. For about 50.00 you could switch is ssd drive. All in all the other reviews are pretty spot on. This is good laptop for someone that wants a big screen, browse the internet, read emails, print, do QuickBooks. Anyone who has a etsy shop or online store. It’s prefect for that.

I have to agree with the masses. The hard drive is a done deal for any windows OS past windows 7. I bought this with the plan to immediate replace the HD with an M.2 SSD which really brought this laptop to life. Yes it is no gaming PC but it's fine for my intermediate usage. The Core i5 and 12 gb ram really help push this thing. My only complaint is the contrast between the keys and the printed symbols on the keys. In certain light and/or reflections it can be difficult to read. For this and the fact that it did not come with an SSD I took away one star. I will note that I tried it with a SATA 2.5" ssd and it also performed well. I will recommend this but ONLY if you plan on upgrading the HD to an SSD. I am luck that I can do it myself, so all it cost me is $50 for a non-gaming 1TB ssd.

For the Sale-Price of $399 apiece, Nice Laptop with large 17" Screen & 10th Gen Intel-i5 Quad-Core Processor, with 12 GB of Memory for decent performance.. In fact, I bought 2 of these Laptops, one for my wife and one for myself.. Couple of minor "downside" issues.. First, the Hard Drive is a Mechanical 1-TB HDD, spinning at 5400 RPM's, Quite Slow.. And the "Light Grey" Alpha-Numeric Characters embossed on the Silver Grey Keyboard are difficult to see.. However, with the Sale-Price being so low, I ordered two "1-TB NVMe SSD's" for the Laptops for only $90 apiece.. Cloned the HDD's over to SSD's which Improved the performance Immensely.. Overall, quite impressed with this Laptop (after adding SSD) and would highly recommend, especially when they are on Sale!!

So I have had this laptop for pver 3 years and it has been a good one for me and my family. I bought it for my son for his school work and projects. It has done its job. I recently updated the RAM and the hard drive as it was beginning to act slow. I installed a 32GB DDR4 RAM and a 1TB SATA Harddrive and this laptop is like new again. If you have this laptop just install a new ram and ssd harddrive and this laptop will be new again. This laptop will last me a good time.

Fine computer but set up of windows 11 was PAINFUL

First and foremost, the computer works fine and looks fine. However... getting this thing setup properly took in the realm of a week and a half. I did no less than 33 updates to get this computer set up to be even remotely fast. Let alone doing ALL the optional updates, to get it working better than my Lenovo that has 8GB of RAM. There were so many times I was forced to just restart my computer in hopes there would be an update that was needed to occur that the computer didn't tell me about. I came real close to returning it on several occasions. I don't blame the computer but windows for this issue. I tried to set it up to have windows 11 from the get go, and let me tell you. Windows S-Mode is complete nonsense. They want you to not download any other web browsers but microsoft edge is complete crap and ridiculously slow in S-Mode. I couldn't even update to windows 11 until I disabled S-Mode, so it's essentially worthless. Let alone the fact that the computer just CRAWLED during setup while it was enabled. If you buy any computer with Windows in S-Mode, DISABLE IT IMMEDIATELY OR YOU WILL HATE LIFE. It should NOT take over a WEEK to set up a computer properly. I'm in, I.T and was still at my wits end with this. Windows 11 needs to get its act together. Also this computer only runs its processors at base speeds of 1.00 Ghz when it has an up to 3.00 Ghz speed, that I still haven't figured out how to make it use its full capacity. My lenovo Idea Pad 330 runs at 2.67 Ghz. Honestly, this may be the last windows based OS computer I buy because of this. DON'T MAKE ME GO TO APPLE, MICROSOFT. I DON'T WANT TO.

I was unsure on the ASUS name for a work/study Laptop. I have been very pleased with the speed and reliability of the computer. I do a ton of word processing for my master's classes as well as video and ZOOM meetings. The laptop has worked like a champ. Would definitely recommend this item for students and business pros alike. I would give 5 stars but the battery life, I drain it pretty quickly off charger, but it is also how I have the unit set up, I'm sure. Display is wonderful, graphics very clear.

A very good laptop once you pop in a SSD and make it the main drive. Only bad thing is the keyboard colors, silver and gray can be hard to read at times. Person who thought of this should be fired and their boss for not knowing better. Is a great value at just over $250 with coupon discount.

I’ve had this computer for over a year now. All around it’s a really good computer especially for a work from home job. My only complaints will be the battery life is about 2 hours and that if it has an update sometimes it will do it automatically even after you push it out. However those are the only issues! I would buy again

I am retired and don't do much regarding gaming or work on my computer. I just use it for general needs to keep up with family, friends, shopping and basic gaming. This is probably better than I need so as far as I'm concerned this is great. I just wish there was a better contrast of the letters on the keys. Depending on the light angle they can be hard to see.

I bought this for an assistant to scan and put things in different cloud programs. He is very pleased with it. The keyboard is not backlit, but he doesn't work in the dark so it isn't a problem for him. It was recommended by my computer tech person. Price was right, RAM and HD were the sizes we need. The battery is new, works fine now. For what we need, it is fast enough. My assistant likes the display. So far, so good.
