Good Smart Lock for Beginners

The radius that is uses to detect if you're close is too wide and you can't adjust it. Pro: Easy installation. We live in an apartment and it doesn't interfere with maintenance coming in and out.

Works well enough for me to be satisfied that it is keeping my home locked when I need it to be locked, but not quite enough to warrant five stars. I also had some set-up issues that frustrated me for an hour or so, but eventually got it all working.

Sometimes I get an error message saying it just got reconnected to the wifi, I am not really sure if it is something wrong with my wifi or some sort of hardware issue with the lock but still I am happy with this lock.

Great automated lock with some WiFi lag

I’ve noticed some WiFi lag with using Siri and HomeKit, and haven’t been consistent when unlocking with “Auto Unlock”

Love the August Smart Lock

Since I installed it, we haven't used any keys. "Auto unlock" senses when we near the door from the outside and unlocks it as we near. I have "auto lock" set to 3 minutes, to give us time to get the mail and return without it locking. We love using Alexa to lock/unlock the door so we don't have to walk 30 feet to let our kids in. It was easy to install (10 minutes) and even my wife thinks it looks good.
