STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCK! I have owned older generations of August locks with the wireless bridge separate and it worked reasonably well. This generation lock should be compared to Windows ME or Vista. Issues with this lock: * it chews through the batteries at a pace that I have never seen. on top of this, the batteries are not something you can commonly get at a local store. * You think you can lock and unlock this lock via the app.... guess again. The firmware is riddled with issues in this lock and its event document as a known issue for August but since buy this in July of 2022, they have not corrected it. The App will just sit there showing a pulsating circular logo and never actually do the commands (again said to be a known issue). * I have attempted to go back and forth with support and its probably one of my least favorite support models to deal with. I work in IT, I know how to deploy wifi and how to make sure this lock has plenty of coverage. I would not recommend this lock for anyone who values keeping there house, loved ones or pets safe. It is untrustworthy just based on reliability and the known bugs that this company has yet to fix or provided any time line to address.

Excellent device. Did exactly what we needed it to. A little challenging to install, but success.

Good: 1. The installation and setup was easy 2. Lock/Unlock from the app worked most of the times 3. Notification worked most of the times 4. Auto Unlock worked Bad: 1. Did not work from my Apple Watch. The watch app was not able to detect the lock. Online troubleshooting and email to customer care did not help 2. Did not work from Apple home kit and with Siri commands 3. Auto Unlock worked only once, not at all consistent 4. Lost calibration time to time Overall I got a feeling that it is not reliable.

I ended up buying about 4 smart locks before deciding to keep this smart lock. In comparison with nest yale lock, this smart lock is little bulkier and not that flashy. However, in functionality and connectivity is much higher and not even comparable. Only thing that i wish it came with the box was the keypad, which I ended up buying. It makes locking and unlocking much easier. This will be a perfect 10 if it came with a keypad.

I would recommend. Really easy install I love the built in wifi, the old model did have a few better specs like not closing when the door is wide open better sensing I’m sure can be fixed with a software update

Lock is great august app works in iPhone and watch Auto Unlock works as well minus one star for issues with HomeKit integration. While home kit notifies when lock is opened and locked and it won’t actually lock it tried a few times
