Erratic new; Totally dead in 2 weeks.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this 4-port USB hub to connect a pair of USB drives (both reliably working) to a laptop. I chose a Belkin unit based on prior good experiences with Belkin products. The first couple of days I got only sketchy sustained connectivity with this hub. After running tests to confirm the drives were OK, some experimentation proved one of the two ports I'd initially used had gone dead. I switched connections to the other two ports. Within two days all four ports were dead, and the hub couldn't be revived using any port on either of the two computers I had available. The drives still connect and work individually. Bottom Line: The specimen I got was utter junk.

Keeps disconnecting devices!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It was working fine for the first couple months, then it started dropping ports, it disconnects devices randomly. Like it "restarts" itself.. very annoying! This seems to be the main problem with this kind of things and it should be the main thing to put their focus on while building one. Skip this one if you'll use it to plug hard drives or any other device which will need to be connected without interruption to your computer. Still looking for one that last at least a year without starting to disconnect devices randomly. Any ideas?
