Not Enough Power

I needed a way to connect the Apple Superdrive that has a USB A connection to my laptop. Even though Belkin says that I delivers 100 w of power, this was not sufficient or it wasn't properly delivering the power the Superdrive. I kept getting error messages saying I needed to connect to a USB port with power. I returned the Belkin hub and bought an Apple USB A to USB C adapter and that worked.

HDMI port video flashes on and off occassionly on other monitor. Cannot have more than 1 usb item plugged in or other usb port sometimes doesn't work. otherwise it works.

However, the HDMI port is only capable of ouputting at 30hz. This isn't specified anywhere on the packaging or in the product specifications, so I ultimately returned it as I expected a minimum 60hz output.

I suppose that's on me for not reading the fine print.

My engineering project in school was hooked up via USB for testing, and it made a whirring sound before making one of the capacitors extremely hot, burning me and then making it so all my components died on me.
