    Very disappointed with motion detection

    I had the 1st Gen Blink Doorbell and it worked fantastically. We had it for 3 years before we dropped the back piece and some hooks broke off and wanted to get a new one that hooked on the door again. It took me a while to realize this new 2nd gen doorbell was only recording when our door was opened, no deliveries. I checked the settings, power cycled, and bought a new case to hold it. I had to try a bunch of different places on my porch to get it to record anything motion triggered(other than the door it was on opening), and it is still unreliable. At this point Ive rubberbanded the old one together because it’s motion detector seems to work much better and I need a camera that actually records motion. I hope they do a firmware update or something to fix this. Works fine if doorbell button is pressed, great image quality, but I’m very irritated that it struggles so much with motion detection based on positioning that was never a problem for the old version.

I am so sorry to hear that your motion detection is not working the same as the first generation doorbell was. This shouldn't be the case and definitely is not the expected experience for our customers. There are some ways you can check on the motion settings of your new device while you have it installed and set up in the app. You can navigate to the motion settings by going to the 3 dots in the lower right corner of the device in the app, tap Device Settings, Motion Settings, and then here you can increase or decrease Motion Sensitivity and adjust Motion Zones. If this still does not resolve your problems, we would love the opportunity to try to troubleshoot further with you by contacting Blink Customer Support directly from within the app's Help Menu. There, you will be able to chat online or call directly. I would advise doing so while onsite with your device so we can try to provide you the support you need to get this corrected.     I have to admit blink stepped up big time wayyyy better. i love this doorbell added to my sync module 2 it works Great
