Use these as 3rd set of speakers in the 7.1 format, after upgrading my tuner from the 5.1 to 7.1. I like the little cubes better, but these sound great and were cheaper. The only thing that could be improved is the mounting bracket is too limiting on how its mounted. Also its kind of hard to get to when mounting since it has not much clearance. However, once mounted they are awesome speakers for a great price.

These multi-purpose speakers are labeled as Bookshelf speakers, but they deliver performance consistent with higher priced BOSE products. Great sound and style that fits with most any home decor. In fact, I use these are rear surrounds for a 5.1 system. Sure, they're slightly bulky, but sexy enough to look nice no matter where you put them. Design is perfect for flexible placement with any third party speaker stands.

This product is excellent for replacing the large old style floor speakers, when you have a limited amount of space in which to place them. Mobile homes, small rooms etc. The sound is excellent for their size and for their intended use. I would recommend them to anyone for similar use. Bose definitely lives up to their reputation.

I'm still working on my theater room but these speakers make a great addition to our setup. The sound great, they're small enough to not overwhelm the walls where they are mounted. I'm very pleased! I was pleasantly surprised to see that they come with wall mounting brackets too!

I placed these in my backyard for summer entertaining. Blew me away. I will have 4 in my living room this year to surround my system. Best bookshelf speaker on the market. I've had plenty. Price should not be a factor. They are worth every penny.

If you want great sound and you don't have space for large speakers, this is an excellent option. We moved to a town home and didn't want to have our Boston Accoustic speakers taking up a lot space standing on the floor next to our stereo cabinet. Shelf speakers was our best solution. These Bose speakers give you great un-destorted sound in the high range with great volume. When you partner them with a sub-woofer, you have a great sound without conspicuous speakers. Our subwoofer could easily be hidden and the Bose shelf 166 speakers blended in nicely.

Both the quality of sound and the value you get for the price is excellent!!

i have purched two sets of these speakesr, i use them for my front, and rear, and let me tell you they sound great!!! my boys and i have these set up in our man cave in our basement. You do have to have a good sub and a good center channel speaker, and trust me you will be happy!!!

great bang for your buck and easy to mount on your wall. I use 6 in a surround setup with 2 making up the center and it sounds great. Mate with a good sub and you'll be happy.

I spent a lot of time looking for just the right surround sound speaker. I already had some Bose 301's as my fronts and needed something else to put in the wings for the full surround effect. Most bookshelves are too bulky or you can't find a good stand. Many of the small surround speakers that are available only come with speaker systems and really didn't seem to be the right fit. These are perfect in this setup. I used these speakers in combination with the RocketFish rear speaker kit. These small speakers when tuned with your AVR put out high and mid range that complement the front speakers for both music and movies. They really sound great when you increase the volume!

I added these speakers to my new 7.1 Onkyo driven home theatre sytem as center back speakers! They are awesome and even TV shows sound like I'm in the theatre, especially when it is a show that is in 5.1 to start.... They add so much realism to the overall sound and fill the room just fine! I love them and they fit right in with my totally Bose home theatre system, (amp being the exception).

Absolutely wonderful speaker. Sounds great under all circumstances (gaming, movies, music.) It is not a loudspeaker, it is an ambient speaker. Often times people make adjustments on their recievers to have the rear speakers output the same as the front, which defeats the purpose of an ambient speaker. Overall, I got what I expected from a quality product at a good price.

I bought these speakers to complete my home theater setup and I'm not disappointed. They fit perfectly with my other Bose speakers. They are everything you would expect from a Bose product. Great for a home theater setup, highly recommended and as always, great service from Best Buy.

These speakers sound good, Bose never seems to fail me. Although the shape and curve to them are a little awkward. You cant stand them up vertically without it wobbling due to the curve, so I lay it down until I mount it. But the sound is great! Thinking of buying another pair - I'm still lacking 4 speakers for my 7.1 :(

You really can't go wrong with Bose speakers. I bought these about a yr and a half ago to complete a 7.1 surround sound system. The sound quality is amazing and complement well my existing Klipsch 5.1 system. I've never had any issues with them and highly recommend them. If your setting up a system like mine, you really don't have to worry about busting them with so many aspeakers providing the volume you need.

Simply put, "I love them!" Great sound quality (so good that my other speakers seem under powered now) a pretty good bang for the buck. Also awesome that they come with wall mounts!

These 161bose speakers were added to my home theater with bose 301 for fronts speakers and bose 201 for rear speakers . A center speaker was made by combining a 161 speaker with a sony center speaker and another 161 speaker. they are wired in series and looks like a sound bar with the combination of the 3 speakers They are magnetically shield so you can have close to tv

Bose has always been tops, and these are no exception. Great 3 way sound, with slight bass. I put these on my dresser to match up with a Sony mini reciever, and they fit right in with my decor and sound great. I continue to be slightly annoyed that you can't use any type of discounts coupons when purchasing Bose products.

I have these to go with my klipsch VF-35, VC-25 center speaker and Klipsch subwoofer. These rear speakers might be a little small in appearance, but they pack great sound. Sound effects are clear and crisp.
