The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I wish it would expand up and down and with a bulkier (like an otter box) case on the phone, the grip keeps slipping and phone keeps falling out while driving!

It is probably one of the best phone holders I have ever used. Yes, you lose a cup holder. But it is a small price to pay to have your phone in a convenient location.

I have An iPhone XR. It would not work with my Otterbox. Using a thinner case solved the problem and it meets my needs 100%.

The brakes do not hold larger cases well. I was able to use it for a Samsung S10 by turning the arms 180° to intended direction. Fits cup holder well, but needs stronger spring of clamping arms.

The phone pops out of the holder at least once a week. I actually bought a different head for the base and combined them to make an excellent phone holder.

I did have a problem getting to fit lower fingers with a phone with Otterbox Case on phone. Phone still was gripped firmly when installed.

Also, the rotating ball allows my larger phone to move. A smaller phone would probably be fine, but it wasn’t helpful for me. Plus I needed some sort of cup holder adapter to make sure it wouldn’t tip.
