Easy set up and sips ink compared to my previous HP printer. Needed something that would quickly support printing and scanning from tablets, phones, PCs and a Chromebook. This machine has met that goal and then some. Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is I have only owned this a month, reliability is yet to be proven although I have confidence in Brother.

I haven't used this printer a great deal yet, but it's been really good so far. I also like that it came with such a large supply of ink!

So far so good. A didn't give it 4 stars because the paper tray is a little small, but the printer quality has been good so far.

Having had print head failure problems with two prior multi-function ink-jet printers (think synonym for the word artillery regarding brand), we tried the Brother MFC-J985DWXL. So far, so good. Performs all expected functions. Too soon to comment on the ink economy promises. Would be 5 stars except is comparatively loud in printing.

I like how I can print quickly for my projects. Also, the extra ink provided is great to have on hand.

This all-in-one printer prints beautifully and was so easy to install. I don't understand why other people had issues with it. And the ink cartridges haven't run out yet. Thanks to my boyfriend for getting it for me for Christmas and thank you to best buy for carrying it at a great price!

I just upgraded to this model. My previous Brother model was great and this newer version is even better.

I read a lot of the reviews where quite a few had a lot of trouble with the wireless connection so I didn't have my hopes up too high for that. I only needed a USB connection. When I got the printer, it was very easy to setup. I got daring & tried the wireless setup & voila! Perfect! on my PC and laptop. I even downloaded the Brother iPrint app for our cell phones & again - it works seamlessly! Very cool. I didn't have the expectation that I'd be able to print from my cell phone - but it works! & of course, I bought the printer for saving money on ink since I wound up spending about $70 a year in ink on my other 10 yr old Canon printer that I've now retired.

Easy to setup and use.. very good ink management..Like this printer so much , We bought two.

Great printer. Relatively easy to install and run...just follow the directions supplied. Wireless printing is the greatest. We can print from any laptop or devise from anywhere in the house. Haven't tried printing photos yet. Printing black and white seems very economical with this printer.

This printer has been a winner so far. What best is the printer setup was painless even the wireless configuring. The cartridge cleaning took about 5/8 minutes and then all I had to do was connect it to my network and I was all setup. Brother has done an excellent job with this printer.

For working at home, this printer is fine. Prints relatively quickly for a home printer.

Bought this printer to replace my old HP Officejet Pro printer that was getting just way too costly to maintain due to the expensive replacement costs for the ink cartridges as well as for the printheads. I also experienced many issues with my old HP Officehjet Pro printer constantly cleaning/realigning the printheads which excessively wasted too much ink. Bought this Brother MFC-J985DW XL printer and had absolutely no hassle in setting the printer up, joining my network or on any operational issued to date. Everything works really good and I can even print from my cell phone now - My old HP printer would not allow this feature to be activated due to constant error message.

Switched from an HP to a Brother and am pleased with the printer and the ink usage.

Easy to start using. Had to use the disk to set up my desk top computer, but all the laptops,etc set up without the disk. Excellent printing, copying, and scanning capabilities for documents. I don't print pictures, so can't say how that works.

We bought this to replace a years old Brother printer. This one works very well and came with probably a couple of years worth of ink for us. My only complaint is that the screen on this is very small and on the front side of the machine making it so one must bend down to look at it. It would have to be on a 5 ft table to make it eye height.

It's been such a great time saver! I can easily scan a document and save it as a PDF and put it in iBooks and email it. It's also fun being able to print right from my iphone 7+. I'm glad I upgraded my printer.

So far the printer works great. Easy to set up and use. Scanning in document feeder is a great time saver if you have multiple pages to scan. Picture prints are good but not great.

Purchased during discount for home office. All of us are very pleased with this printer, and it's economical ink usage. For home office and for family this is a great printer. Kudos to Brother on design. For true business, the printer lacks duplex scanning, and print is slower than laser printers or our business color inkjet (albeit those are 7 to 16 times more expensive per page costs). The plastic case feels bit weak, but overall would expect this to last quite a while (our previous brother MFC inkjets broke after 4 and 7 years, so we had quite a bit of usage from them). I'd purchase again for home use.

I found I can do so many tasks with this machine. And i don’t even need to buy ink for two years ,and it’s not so big fits in a small area and lightweight
