Only had this printer for a month, but it seems to be just fine for a basic all-in-one printer. The set-up was a breeze. Like other reviewers, I can confirm this printer is rather noisy and it certainly can be slow. Although I could recommend this printer, it would include the two caveats I mentioned.

I have had Brother all in ones for about 15 years and love them; which is why I purchased this one for my daughter. They are easy to use and very reliable.

I purchased a brand new model because it was ranked the best buy by a well-known magazine for consumers. I was surprise that no "printer to USB" cable was included in the package. The printing worked fine. However, scan did not work at all. I returned it.

1. If you have any interest in getting good color print reproduction, then move on. This is a dog color printer when it comes to quality. Color is half the sharpness of the original. 2. Customer service personnel inconsistent in their analysis and advice. They are in Jamaica. They answer quickly and are polite, but no help in solving my problem. 3. They sent a replacement machine. I stupidly accepted and sent the other one back. Same problem. I should have asked for refund.

I don't like the flashing light. It makes so much noise when in use. When I called about exchanging, I was told I would have to buy a new one then wait for a refund. I don't like this model and unhappy with Best Buy.

Attempts to set-up failed. .. with CD & using their website downloadable set-up exe. Brother is NO help. Very frustrating!

I bought this brother printer to replace an old brother printer we had for well over 10 years. So far, so good. This one had everything my old one had and then some. I wanted a printer, copier, scanner and fax, and the ability to print photos, which this has. The upside is that this also has the capability to print wirelessly from a mobile device or laptop. My daughter can be doing her homework upstairs and send it from her apple laptop to the printer downstairs to print. I've yet to use the scan or fax features, but pleased with everything else about it so far. I read other reviews before purchasing this, was hesitant because at the time it was 3.8 stars. That being said, I'm not going to give a printer bad reviews for being loud or difficult to set up. I don't think I've ever owned a truly quiet printer. As for set up, sure, that could be a bit confusing, as expected hooking it up to wi-fi and all for the wireless capabilities, but ours set up pretty painlessly. It you get confused, back up and start over, which we had to do once but it ended up being pretty simple.
