    When you compare other 300mm lenses, cost for this one is in mid range. But it has USM telephoto function. So I'll recommend this for a beginner of nature photography.

    I've been using this lens for 2 months and I'm very impressed with its capability. It has produced some incredibly detailed photos, even from a considerable distance. It's not designed for close-ups though. Overall, I'd highly recommend this lens to others.

    This is my 2nd Canon 300mm and the extreme clarity in pictures is far beyond my expectations. Thank you CANON for continuing to make my life in photography so much fun.

    Canon makes the best camera and telephoto lenses in my opinion. The price, however, is the only drawback. Although they have cheaper versions of their cameras and lenses you will pay for the higher end units.
