Having shot professionally for a number of years, I recently sold my Canon gear (5d bodies, L lenses, etc.). Photography is fun again with this small camera - I really don't want to lug around large camera bodies and lenses anymore! The lenses auto focus ability is superior with the mirrorless system - no more need to calibrate the lenses to the mirror-type focus system (AF Micro adjustment). I must admit, the image quality, even with the kit lenses is terrific. Of course without weather sealing and premium (L) lenses, one is limited. However, I have printed large format photos that only a professional would be able to tell the difference (pro cameras and lenses) - and not always. The sensor is very good, the Digic 8 processor is outstanding. Using up to 1600 ISO often, the printed picture is just terrific and higher ISOs (a little work in Adobe Lightroom!) For the advanced shooters, the new cRaw format is great to expanded post processing. The kit lenses are very capable and are very sharp - especially the center. Of course, the kit lenses are pretty slow, so low light photos are going to require a higher ISO or flash. I used the 55-200 Zoom at a grandson's ball game with great results - up to 10 fps that is more than adequate to catch "just the right shot". The EVF works well in bright daylight. The battery is adequate, but just so. If traveling or videoing, a second battery is probably mandatory. The video function is great - I only use 1080p to be able to use dual pixel focus. My video is limited to grandkids school plays, so I can not provide a good opinion on the video capabilities for the VLoggers out there, but what I do turns out great. The audio preamp is quite good. I use a Rode VideoMicro and that works out great for sound quality - the external mic jack is a great feature on this camera. The camera is small, but easy to hold and is "carry all day" comfortable. I will add that I added a ef-m 22mm, f2 pancake lens - this little prime lens is reasonably fast and the image quality is very, very good and an ideal size when on the m50. Do I miss my pro equipment? Sure, sometimes, but I never miss lugging them around! For the casual shooters - travel, kids, etc. this is a very nice system, I think!

I bought this because I needed something other than my Iphone to take pictures of my car. It was nice it came with both lenses as I find myself using the 55-200mm most of the time, just backing up and zooming in on my target. I've bought a few other lenses and a Viltrox Speedbooster to use the EF50mm I bought. Overall, good price for the combination of camera and two lenses.

I'm still learning this camera, but so far I've been very impressed. The on-screen menus and prompts guide me to the settings I'm looking for to get the shot I had in mind. One word of caution - I got this camera so that I could do some HDR work. Canon uses a relatively new RAW format (called CR3) that most post production software does not support. The RAW images must be converted to DNG files (there's a free Adobe app available) before the software can be used on the photos. So far, so good!

It’s bit pricey but it’s certainly worth it.. it was very close to previous models n the operation but with faster and better quality pictures and easy file transfers to your phone. I wish the battery lasted a lil longer.
