It seems like a firmware issue with the cobra sc201 because the phone app is up to date. Would I recommend it to a friend No, at least not till the connecting to the phone issue is fixed.

Owned for 6 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This cobra dash cam is ok, I do not see a difference between this device and some ali express off amazon device, reason is: this unit works when it works and in most crucial moments it decides to TURN OFF on its own and you are on your own. While driving you have to unplug from the source wait about 10 seconds and plug it back in and the unit will restart and start recording again. It is happening about 1 year into ownership and it is happening 5/10 drives. I thought about returning the unit but time has passed since. Be aware, if you get into accident this unit might be off. Good luck.

I have had this camera for about seven months and have only been able to make a connection to it to download video three times. Good luck if you’re in an accident! You won’t be getting the video off of this.

It did not state it would be, I assumed by looking at the package. No points taken off for that. Sleek design but overall I would go for a expensive dash cam for my needs
