Purchased this to replace an older 500Gb Sandisk Extreme SSD and I am so far very pleased with it. I tested it with my MacBook Pro and it is over twice as fast as the Sandisk, and about 200 Mbs faster than my 512 Gb Samsung T7. I haven't really owned this drive for long, so I can only hope its reliability is as good as its speed. Oh and in my usage, the Crucial stays the coolest of the three SSD's I have.

Purchased while on a trip needed the storage. Updated firmware. Never showed in disk management. Had to redownload 11 pro. Forward from April to Late July tried another 1 hour session with support nothing, I bought 64gb or ram from micron for the same business laptop there were no issues. I've bought M.2 nvme and internal ssd all were fine for the exept of this item and a 990 pro. The phone assistance people are nice however, having to use a 3rd party to insure whatever is on this bricked X9pro is concerning. I have no choice at this point.

I bought the Crucial X9 Pro 1TB SSD because I needed something small, fast, and dependable for storing and moving large video and photography files between devices. After using it for a few months, I can say it has definitely lived up to the expectations I had based on other reviews.
The first thing that stands out is the speed. Transfers are consistently quick, whether it’s photos, videos, or bigger project files. Crucial advertises speeds up to around 1,050 MB/s, and in real-world use it feels close. Moving several gigabytes at a time only takes a few seconds, which makes it a lot more convenient than older portable drives. It also works smoothly for things like loading game files or working directly off the SSD when I’m editing or organizing media.
The size and build are another plus. It’s genuinely compact—small enough to fit in a pocket—and feels solid without being heavy. I’ve tossed it in my backpack and laptop sleeve daily and haven’t had to worry about it. It also stays fairly cool during use, even after longer transfer sessions.
Compatibility has been great so far. I’ve used it with a Windows desktop, a MacBook, and a PS5 without any formatting headaches or setup steps. Everything recognized it instantly. The simplicity is a big selling point: plug it in and it just works.
The only minor drawback is that it ships with a USB-C to USB-C cable only. That’s fine for newer devices, but if you’re using it with an older laptop or a PC that doesn’t have USB-C, you’ll need your own adapter or cable (but you should make sure the adapter will support the transfer speeds, or else it can become a choke point). Also, while there are faster high-end portable SSDs on the market, most people won’t need more speed than this offers.
Overall, the Crucial X9 Pro hits a sweet spot between performance, portability, and price. It’s a great option if you want a dependable external SSD for backups, travel, or everyday file transfers without spending a lot or dealing with complicated setups. It’s become my daily go-to drive, and I’m very happy with it.

Works great, quick and fast file transfers, manly used to store high quality pictures while traveling. I like the size and weight are minimum for a traveling photographer. The SSD is a more safe and secure way of being on the go with important files over the HDD. This brings convivence and ease of use to my everyday workflow.

Reliable and fast for everyday backups, with plenty of storage space packed into a compact design, though the cable feels a little flimsy and it’s not the quickest option for huge file transfers.

So far, this external backup is doing well. It loaded up quickly and I only plug it in intermittently when back up is needed. Hopefully it will continue to do well. I also like the small size so I can take it with me easily.

I have been really happy with the Crucial X9 Pro 1TB External USB-C SSD. It’s small, sleek, and easy to carry around, and the Space Gray finish gives it a nice premium look.
The speed is impressive, and transferring large files is quick and smooth with no issues. It’s reliable, easy to use, and stays cool even during longer transfers. Overall, it’s a great choice if you need fast, dependable portable storage.

My old external storage device was showing signs of failing, and the X9 Pro was recommended by a Best Buy associate as a replacement/upgrade. I'm extremely happy I took his advice! Easy to use, super fast transfer and access to of all my files. Plenty of storage! Great little external device...highly recommend!

Nice and small. Also very simple to use. Usually i ignore added programs but i like the one that they encourage to download. I can see the space on both my laptop and the drive as well as any additional drives all in one place. And i can keep an eye on the temperature and how much I'm making it work. I've already used 40% of it immediately and its running smoothly. I've even linked many my game files to desktop icons and they work great.

I bought this drive as another backup location for my Windows laptop in addition to my older USB drive. It’s noticeably much faster and is about half the size. Another example where the technology improvements are dramatic - I’m getting a second Crucial drive for my Mac laptop.

Great little external drive, very fast and very capable! It's super fast and easy to use. I'll likely get a 2TB alongside this one. I've had mine for about a month and have used it primarily for photography storage and large file transfers. No complaints so far!

It works and does what I need it to…so far. After three Western Digital SSDs frying on me, this one was an experiment. So far, three months or so in and it’s holding up well. Time will be the judge but so far, so good. It is utterly tiny, and read/write isn’t earth shattering but is fast enough for me coming from hard disks. It does what I need it to but provides no other really special features. This its not a perfect score, but I’d buy it again and may buy a second.

This SSD has been solid for storing and transferring files. The speeds are impressive and I haven’t had any issues with it. It’s compact enough to toss in my bag without taking up much space, and the build quality feels durable. Works exactly as advertised and I’ve had no complaints.
