THIS is why I still buy physical

This will be more of a review of the physical product itself rather than the game. You've likely heard plenty of reviews of the game already and you're free to believe whichever you wish but I encourage you to not just blindly listen to the hate and complaining. This game is incredible. Yes, it has its fair share of bugs and performance issues, but those problems will be fixed in time. When you look past them, the game reveals itself to be a veritable masterpiece of open world RPG design. It's my GOTY for 2020 and is rapidly becoming one of my favorite games of all time. From the compelling setting and world building present in the Cyberpunk franchise to the downright PHENOMENAL narrative, storytelling and quest design, this game is a must own for any fan of open world games, narrative-driven RPGs and just the cyberpunk genre in general. Anyways, I don't only give this 5/5 for the game itself, but for the incredible quality of the physical content here. As is advertised, this comes with a physical case. It doesn't contain the game on discs but instead, it gives us the game's soundtrack on a set of physical discs. Along with this, it includes a plethora of other physical and digital goodies. I'll touch briefly on them below: - World compendium: while I was hoping it'd be full-color, the compendium is a small booklet akin to old school game manuals, but it only delves into the details of the world. It's very well-written and helps newcomers to understand the world as it is in the game. Again, I wish it was full-color instead of black-and-white but hey, I'm certainly not complaining. - Map of Night City: the map is a fantastic poster-sized map of the city and its various districts. It's printed on paper, so it's not extremely durable but if you're careful, it would look great on the wall. - Postcards: printed on thin card stock, you receive three postcards from different districts of Night City. There are more than three districts in the city so I'm unsure if these are randomized for each customer, but you get three different ones nonetheless. They look straight from the dark future and are very well-made, as though you could buy them in a gift shop in the city itself. - Stickers: high quality matte stickers including ones of the logo for the legendary in-game band, Samurai. Not much to say except that they're great and would look awesome on a laptop, guitar case or whatever. - Digital goodies: they're exactly as described and are a great addition to your Cyberpunk collection. Now, in addition to all of that, the case includes a sheet with a message from CD Projekt Red, thanking all of us for being patient and for trusting them with our purchase. It also includes the digital game code on a credit card-like card with a scratch-off surface. This code redeems exclusively through CD Projekt's store, GOG, and believe me, that's NOT a bad thing. Unlike purchasing digitally through Steam, the physical version of the game not only places a physical set of objects into your ownership but you also own the digital game as well, as GOG is DRM-free. On other platforms, you merely lease the rights while GOG gives you ownership of the games you purchase, even if you purchase them digitally through their store. As an awesome extra (thanks to Best Buy), I received a collector's steelbook of randomized artwork. As with virtually all Steelbook brand cases, this one was well-made, wasn't scratched and it just looks great with my collection. Overall, I not only HIGHLY recommend the game itself, but I recommend getting the physical PC version if you're able to. Even if you don't passionately love the game, even if it's just another enjoyable game for you, owning these pieces of the collection feels 100% worth the money. Plus, like I mentioned earlier, you actually own the game itself, a plethora of physical products AND cool digital goodies, all for $60 (or less). Definitely worth the purchase. Massive credit to CDPR for still holding on to the superior days of physical distribution and, not only that, but they also do it RIGHT. PS: How could I forget? Just as an added option of awesome, the game's case artwork is reversible, meaning you can choose the male or female artwork for the game's protagonist, V.

Despite obvious technical issues, the game is excellent. The story is very well written and im enjoying getting lost in Night City. The graphics are truly next-gen. It looks incredible. The gameplay is also super fun. While im here let me address the elephant in the room. The game wasn't in development for 8 years. In 2013 it was announced. They probably just started getting the story figured out when they announced it. The Witcher 3 was being developed during most of those 8 years. The Witcher launched in 2015 and major DLC in 2016. They had all hands on deck for the Witcher 3. So after 2016, they started full development on Cyberpunk. So they had like 5 years to make the game. Not 8 years.

After playing for about 26 hours (admittedly, in the matter of 2 and a half days) this is a game I can not recommend more, for not only the storytelling, but the graphics, gameplay, and many intricate mechanics that exist within the game. My first playthrough and definitely not my last, was as a streetkid. Seeing all of the different dialogue options enriches the story, and gives it great replayability. I had hooked it up to my 4k TV, and used a wireless Xbox 360 controller to enjoy the game on my PC (just my personal preference to use that controller.) If you want the game to run well on your PC, you need to understand your PCs limits. I’m on a 9600k, and a 2070 super. I can get most of the things to high, few to medium, and a select couple settings on low. Follow Digital Foundry’s guide on settings and you’ll be able to appreciate the beauty of the game without giving up frames. Keep in mind, yes this does need to be played on GOGs launcher. This doesn’t mean you can’t add it to your steam launcher though if you prefer the steam overlay. It will still work that way, get over it dudes. The glitches people talk about I’ve really not experienced. I think if you tweak the settings to what your PC is capable of, these just won’t happen. I’ve had a few animation bugs; absolutely. Throughout my gameplay I’ve only had to reload an auto save twice for glitches. That’s really not bad for a game upon release. I can not recommend this game enough for someone who wants a good story, incredible environment, and beautiful graphics. Included is a picture of the contents of you get the physical aswell. Worth it over just digital IMO, and since I’m an employee, I didn’t get the steelbook. If you’re buying this it’ll come with a cool steelbook gift which is well worth it.

After playing this game for a couple weeks, it is worth buying for PC. Yes, there is bugs in the game but the game is so good, i dont care about the minor glitches. The game does require a high end PC if you want play it at its full potential. I have a 2600x with a RTX 2070 and playing the game at 1080P with Ultra settings/Ray Tracing off, i am only able to get about 60- 70 FPS.

Playing this game on PC is the only way to go. There are a lot of bugs on every platform however it is unplayable on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 consoles. With a high-powered PC and a good graphics card the game plays well. there are some patches coming to correct some of the bugs with gameplay but for now it is a very fun and immersive game.

Good game and a decent storyline. I have about 50 hours in and the only issues I've experienced are textures not loading in properly and dialogue issues but other than that it's a smooth game. As I'm making this the console version is not good and only playable on the PC version so I hope this changes. the photos included were taken by me using the photo mode feature they have in the game

I have been really enjoying this game. My only issue stems from getting the game a day late, but my steelbook arrived on launch date. (Maybe bestbuy's fault, or it could just be the mail, but it was a bit disappointing) I have been playing the game for a week now. No issues for me on PC! The game came with stickers, 2 CDs of the soundtrack, post cards, world compendium, and a map! (Plus a card to download it from GOG) The story so far is very intriguing, and I'm trying not to rush through the story as best as I can. Luckily there's some really fun side quests! It you're the type of person who finds joy in just driving around on the map on GTA then I'm sure you would enjoy this! I would highly suggest if you want this game, please consider purchasing it on PC. I don't have a top of the line rig, but mine runs it pretty well. I would consider looking up reccomendations online before purchasing! I've heard it runs pretty poorly on last gen. Someone I know who has the Series X says it runs great. So take that as you will. Anyways, I hope you enjoy Night City as much as I am!

Game is buggy. No doubt about it. Does it really take away from the overall experience? Not really. My wife is playing it on Xbox Series X and it looks pretty good there, but noticed same bugs in both versions that are in the main storyline. Probably should get on cleaning that up. My PC at times has a hard time running the game. Don’t know why I have a 2070 Super and I figured well maybe it’s the ray tracing but turning it off doesn’t up my frame rates. Getting in the 40s on frame rates and can live with that but sometimes it dips into the 30s and that’s definitely a no-no. Turning down the settings further doesn’t really push up frame rates. Tried using the Nvidia recommended settings for my system and everything was really distorted with no improvement on frame rates anyway.

This game is amazing. I went in with the expectation that the game was not going to run the best. I knew this would be the case due to all the delays. I have a 2060 super and I can run the game on high with a few things turned down and some off. So far it has run smooth as butter. I've gotten a couple of glitches but nothing to cry about, as a matter of fact it was hilarious. I'm sorry if you're a console owner and it doesn't run well, but for PC owners that have a semi decent rig, it runs just fine. 10/10 would buy again and would recommend to a friend.

Great addition to single player action-adventure RP games. Tons of content (first play through with 100% completion took about 100 hours). Interesting game mechanics that let you play as a shooter, brawler, melee, net runner (think Watchdogs) or combinations. Not a fan of the cop instant spawn system, but you quickly learn what criminal acts you want to avoid.

The case came broken in the bottom a few pieces of plastic completely fell off. Which made me use the steel case that came with it. The shipping box had no damage to it. Which means the case came broken. It could be worse, glad that it isn’t.

So format clearly makes a huge difference when playing this game. I am around 40 hours in and playing on PC. My PC has a mix of newer and older components, it's an upgrade in progress but here is what it's packing. i7 4970k at stock 4Ghz 16gb DDR3 Asus Z97 Pro Mobo RTX 2070 Super (Founders Edition) and launching from a M.2 Sata NVME PLaying on a 1440p LG Ultragear 144Hz monitor with HDR Game performance is great, Im playing on Ultra, Med RTX and HDR and getting average 60-80fps and the occasional dip to high 30s but very playable and looks amazing. The game itself is really good but not perfect. I love the Witcher series, played them all so had high hopes (but tempered expectations) for this title. The world is visualised and looks amazing, the progression system and character skill paths is well fleshed out though body mods not as much as I had hoped. The main story and character side quests are excellent, really well done and properly engaging. Everyone is well voice acted and performances are superb. I find the rest of the side quests a bit generic though. Go to place on the map get a call/text message to complete a kill/theft/rescue and repeat 100 times all over the map. Plenty to do but a lot of busy work. It's a game torn between trying to be a CDPR open world RPG and a GTA style crime game. When it shines it shines but not without falling short in places. I know this game is a current laughing stock on console but if you have a PC that can run it it's well worth playing now. Or wait 6 months for the community to truly optimize it. Bugs I haver encountered are mostly just artifacting, floating cigarettes or characters sliding instead of walking. Petty stuff easily overlooked.

I got this game by curbside pickup, I did not order for delivery. The first thing I want to discuss is the packaging. This is STACKED for a regular physical copy of a game. It comes with the digital download code (obviously), 2 soundtrack CDs, stickers, postcards, a book that explains the history of the Cyberpunk universe, and the map of Night City. It felt like I got a Special Edition for the cost of the regular edition. Now for the game itself: It took a while for my code to go through on GOG Galaxy but after 10 minutes of persistence, it went through. I haven't completed the story of the game yet but it's very fun. Think Deus Ex meets Grand Theft Auto in gameplay terms. There is A LOT to do in the sprawling world of Night City. I strongly recommend this purchase, but only if you have a Best Buy location to pick it up from.

I suppose I’m lucky and have been able to enjoy this game to the fullest extent. Game is running well on my PC but I’ve got a 9900KS and a 2080 Ti so I have plenty of power. I’ve got probably 30 or so hours of gameplay in and I can say I’ve been having a blast. Great story, fun combat, gorgeous graphics, you name it. I have noticed a few minor bugs while in the game but nothing game-breaking and mostly silly little things like The Witcher 3 had at launch. I hope CDPR makes this right for the folks who can’t enjoy it because it truly is a great game when you are able to play. I’ll note the game is also running smoothly on ray tracing - ultra on my Alienware M15 laptop with a 2070 Super and an i7 10750.
