Sorry you were not able to get your switch connected. There is a tab at the bottom of the switch called an airgap if you push that tab in for 3 seconds it'll power cycle your switch and should allow it to reconnect. Not worth the money. Apparently these C by GE switches go down constantly and have a steady red light. Then you need to update them through the app. So freakin annoying!!! Worst switches ever. Go with TP-Link or others, I have TP-Links in other rooms and I never have issues.

Hi John, sorry you experienced this issue. The red indicator light is due to a disconnect to your home wifi network. The switch requires a 2.4ghz signal to maintain functionality. So if your router gets unplugged it can kick the switch off-line. To correct this a simple power cycle can work by pushing in the airgap tab on the bottom of the switch for 3 seconds and then letting go. Thank you for taking the time to review our product. Our smart lights are "Bluetooth-enabled." They can be connected and controlled remotely in two ways:
1. Connect them directly to any Google Home device using the Google Home app. Since Google Home devices connect to Wifi, your smart lights can use them as a "Smart Bridge" or hub.
2. Connect your smart lights to the C by GE app and use one of our "Smart Bridge" devices to connect them to Wifi. This includes our smart switches, our smart plug, and our C-Reach Smart Bridge.

Once linking the switch with the app, the switch kept turning on by itself. Called GE customer service, uninstalled and reinstalled and had same issue. Returned product to Best Buy

Good value but challenging with Google Nest Mini

I bought this specifically to work with Google Assistant. Installation instructions clear and install was straightforward. Works well manually and with C by GE app. Trying to link with Google Nest Mini has been very frustrating. Google Home does not recognize the switch. Customer support was quick to pick up during call and chat sessions and very friendly. They acknowledged the issue and stated engineers are working on problem. Said to call back in few days. I did and was told problem still pending and to call back next week. I appreciate the good value of this switch and would have bought several but the time I've spent trying to resolve this issue has evaporated any savings. I'll be returning this switch and trying a different brand.

Decent device, does what it states

Decent switch but it seems that at night, the voice assistant service drops somehow and it's not able to find the device. Not sure if this is on the C by GE side of it or if it's Google home. I assume it's on the C by GE because the other devices still work in google home, so it seems the service that bridges C by GE to a voice assistant drops. Not sure if GE is running maintenance or updates at that time or what. Would be nice to be able to view a debug log or output somewhere in the app.

I already owned several of the dimmer version of this switch. Added a few of these to the setup to fill in the less common areas in the house. Easy to install and setup. Working great with Alexa and Google Nest. Satisfied.
