Easy and quick set up. Have had other brands that were not so easy. I now have three of these in my house and love them. I have talk thru them and listen through them. I had to cover the lights up with tape - as my kids could tell when the wife or I were seeing what they were doing, based on the blinking when in use.

can't compare it to any other camera as this is the first and only I've had. The software is 'ok' but seems like they're still developing updates / doesn't have the quickest connection via the app, but after a delay, it will connect. Allows you to move around remotely. Also has notification alerts for detecting movement (very sensitive as I get alerts with shadows if the sun is bright in the window). Overall its ok but I don't believe its the best there is.

Good camera that's very versatile, so if you don't position it just right or you want to see an area that covers more than the camera angle, you can move it around. I really like this feature. Video quality is very good since it's 1080p.

Alright, let me start by saying I'm a moderately advanced user. I had the prior DCS-5030L. On that one, you can go into the router settings, and hook the camera up to a NAS server of your choice or one that you built, which was my case. I built a NAS server with a lovely 8 TB hard drive in it for the purpose of recording 3-4 months of surveillance. This set up worked for months, but the camera was only 720p. It could connect to my phone so I could get remote recordings and put them in my photo library and it would still shift video to the NAS. So, I decided lets do the come up -- lets get 1080p. I have the NAS space. I am glad I didn't return the old camera just yet: I plug this one up, and uh... let's just say it is trash. You can only control the camera with a buggy terrible little app. Yeah. That's all. You cannot, I repeat, you cannot attach the camera storage to a NAS. Just an SD card or some nonsense cloud recording provided by D-Link. You are bugging. This camera is going back to the store.

Had the previous version and loved it. Unfortunately it got "stuck" in a loop and couldn't reset or update. I am hoping that doesn't happen to this new one as it is perfect as a doggie cam when we go out. I would definitely recommend.

I needed a 360 camera to check on house when gone and the teenagers. I put it in kitchen and can do a full circle and it’s two way so you can speak and hear. Works great at night also can see clearly with the night vision. Haven’t had any problems with connections and was very easy to set up.

Got this camera to keep an eye on our house while we were away on vacation. Easy to set up, Easy to configure. All you really need to do is plug, connect to internet, and you're good to go. We haven't had any problems using it, either with the hardware or with the app that you have to download.

This was the second of these cameras that I installed. The new app makes it much easier than the old method of logging directly into the camera. It took less than 10 minutes total to install and set up, and the new app provides up to 4 default views beyond the home position.

The picture quality in wide angle is Greek! The sound goes Tenney and spotty. Also there is no automatic motion tracking.

For the sake of home security and a deterrent to any criminals that may intrude into my apartment. I purchased this camera to keep a eye on the place while I am away from home. Being my first camera, I can't exactly compare it to other cameras. But I must say the ability to adjust its viewing location is quite nice. But using the app to rotate and tilt the camera can be quite challenging, especially when you want to be specific on where it looks due to the "lag" the app appears to experience when moving the camera remotely. The app itself is quite simplistic and it works, but I feel as if it could be more "responsive", to say. Additionally, I found that the motion detection on the camera to be "overly sensitive", even when turnt down significantly. Detecting even "air" for some reason, or nothing at all at times. This leads to many alerts being "nothing note worthy". Overall, for the price, quality, and functionality, I wouldn't say I won't recommend this to a friend, but I feel as though there are better options than this camera. Certainly, the night vision is good, as well as the ability to change viewing angles remotely to be great as well.

I purchased this camera to replace a Black Label Camera that died on me. This camera is great. Good picture quality, decent phone app. I have an older dlink dcs-5020 that and the app allows me to view both cameras at the same time. I should have purchased two.

Its not as clear as I would like it to be and with no clear instructions other than the half made videos you can play from the app its hard to understand how to operate it. There needs to be some easy pre-sets so it takes the guesswork out of making your own. I've had it for about three weeks and I'm still trying to figure it out.

Motion and sound detection is a joke. Changes in sunlight trip the motion sensor even at its lowest setting. Might be useful if you want to monitor a windowless bathroom or closet. The audio pickup sensor is also out of wack, both are overly sensitive. It makes a noise, (relay?) when switching to IR, audio monitor also picks this up. Had to turn off all push notifications due to all the bogus trips. Maybe a future firmware update will correct this, but for now, a basic IP camera is a better option.
